tw: assualt 

SOPHIE POV

I woke up to dad shaking me at around 6 am. 

"Wake up, you'll be late." 

" Good Morning." I sat up rubbing my eyes.

"Don't rub them, you're walking to school today I have an early surgery." 

"Okay, what's for breakfast?" 

"Eggs, I woke up late too." 

"Okay, i'll see you after have a good day at work." 

"Have a good day at school, call me if you need me yeah?" 

"I will." 

He went out and I took a shower and got ready for school wearing a shirt and pants, not putting in much effort. I put my books in my bag and ate the eggs dad had made.

It was 7 am, It would take me fifteen minutes to walk school was at 8. I wanted to get there early to talk to my physics teacher and maybe understand a few concepts. I picked up my bag, wore my shoes, and reached there at 7:20. I walked to my physics class. I knocked on the door. 

"Come in." He said. He was at his desk working on his laptop. He didn't look up when I entered. 

"Good morning Mr.Daniel." 

"Good morning, who?"

"Sophie Walker, sophomore."

"Oh yes what can I do for you?" He looked up shutting down his laptop.

"I wanted to apologize for yesterday." 

"I don't understand what you're apologizing for, you weren't paying attention in class I called you out, you made an excuse cried and I told you to get out." 

"It wasn't an excuse, I haven't been at school for the past two weeks." 

"Again, I don't understand the issue." 

"I had eye surgery, my doctor said I can't put strain on my eyes. Yesterday, I put strain on them so my head started to hurt. I didn't know one concept of the questions we were doing yesterday. So it's not an excuse. I had to do it."

"How do I believe that now?" 

"You can call my dad." 

"Mom and dad together." 

"My mom's dead." 

"Oh. That's why you turned out this way. Single parent." 

"I don't understand your issue here sir, i'm here to apologize and you're commenting on my dad's parenting skills. He's the best parent to exist. I won't say human cause you won't know what that'll be." 

"Are you being rude with me now?" He stood up and walked to me. I took a step back. 

"I am, yes cause you've taken a simple discussion to my dad." I felt a sharp sting on my face, he had slapped me. I was crying.

" Don't fucking cry. Call him right this second. Put it on speaker." He went on to lock the door. 

I quickly called him and put it on speaker. I was afraid of what that man could do. He didn't pick up. 

"Dad's not picking up now, is he?" He slapped me again and moved his hands to my neck choking me. 

"I'm sorry sir." I could barely speak that. I was crying, I couldn't breathe. 

"Shut up stupid." He suddenly let me go and I fell.

"Go the fuck out. I don't want to see your disrespectful face in here. Behave like a girl, or I'll be a real man and show you your place." I got up quickly and ran out to the school restroom. I could hear someone calling me but I didn't care. 

I looked at myself in the mirror and cried. I had huge hand marks on my cheek and neck. I felt disgusting. 

"Sophie? It's Parker. I can hear you crying so i'm coming in." 

"Oh my god, what happened? Who did this to you?" 

"Daniel." I sobbed.

"Mr. Daniel?"

"Don't say his name. I can't breathe." 

"Okay, okay I need you to sit down right now, we'll figure it out together." I sat on the floor, he sat there with me. 

"Tell me?" He asked once I was breathing okay. 

I told him everything.

"That fucker. I'm going there." 

"Don't. You'll get suspended cause of me." 

"I don't care."

"I do."

"I'm calling your dad then."

"He's busy." 

"Soph, he needs to be here. You're not okay."

He called dad. He picked up and put it on speaker

"Parker? Everything good?" 

"Dr. Walker you need to come to school. Sophie's not okay." 

"What happened?" 

He told him everything. 

"Is she here?' 

"Yeah." 

"I'm almost there honey, I need you to stay with him okay? I love you you're not at fault here. Please don't think that. 

"We can't stay here. School's about to begin." 

"Okay, we'll go to Mr. Radford's room." 

"My neck and face. Everyone will question it." 

"There's not many kids yet. We can run there. It's just one floor down." I nodded and we did exactly that. He wasn't in the room so we just sat there. 

"Are you okay?" 

"I don't know." 

"That's okay." 

His phone rang. It was dad.

"Second floor, room 14." 

In a minute, dad was there. He came up to me and hugged me. I cried into him. 

"Look at me baby, are you okay?" I couldn't look at him. I just cried. 

"Parker, Sophie what's up?" Mr.Radford. Dad held me while Parker told him everything. 

"I'll go deal with him and we can go home okay?" 

I nodded. 

"I don't have classes for the next three hours. You can sit here if you'd like." 

"Thank you." 

"Can I stay as well?" Parker asked.

"Of course. I'll write you both a note if needed." 

I sat there on a chair. Parker was in front of me. Mr. Radford beside me. I just prayed I didn't have to see him again.
