Sophie pov
I faced my friends and Nate standing in front of me.

"Happy birthday Sophie ".They all said at the same time.

"Thank you all". I said.

"Come on, we have a surprise for you,"  Nate said as he covered my face with his hands.

"Okay, don't let me fall or crash into someone,"  I said.

"Never will let that happen," Chloe said and we all started laughing.

They removed the blindfold off of me.

Soon we all reached which I recognized was the front of my locker. It was a bracelet with Sophie written on it. 

"Thank you all," I said. Honestly, I didn't expect this. 

 "You are welcome." They all said together. Then, The bell started ringing indicating that we had to get to our first class of the day. 

Then we got to class. It was fun as it was English, we read a story and it was interesting. Then, it was Maths which  I hated. We got to class and sat down on our seats.

 The teacher said today there will be a surprise test of the chapter we just did. I was in deep trouble.  Dad was gonna be angry when he was gonna see the results cause I didn't even know the name of the chapter. She gave it to us all, saying it was difficult would be an understatement.  I solved all the questions not sure if they were right or wrong. I pretended to recheck them as our teacher never takes tests if they are not rechecked.

 Then the bell rang. The teacher collected all of them. Soon after all classes came lunch. We all ate lunch. "Sophie, you look sad what happened?" Nate asked.

" I didn't even know the name of the chapter in the Maths test I am in huge trouble when dad sees his mail,"  I said.

 "That you are but don't worry you'll get through it. We're all here for you". Chloe said trying to cheer me up and it did cheer me up a bit. Girl, knew exactly what to say to lift my mood.  

 "I know I will but I  am just scared". I said.

 "Now forget that and enjoy it's your birthday". Zoey said. 

"Yeah, let's leave that for later,"  Chloe said.

"Fine," I said.

 Then after some more classes, we got out of school. I got out and saw dad outside.

 "Hey, Sophie." He said as I got in my side of the car. 

"Hey Dadd," I aid. 

He was in work attire.

" Where were you?" I asked him. 

" I got called in". He said. 

"Okay, how was your day?" I asked.

"It was pretty alright. What about yours?" He said

"So so," I said.

"Why so so?"He asked.

I dont know just it was. I said lying as I didn't want to tell him about the test just yet.

"Alright, if you so if there's something you have on your mind feel free to say it". He said. Soon we got home.

I got into my room as it was 2: 30 pm. I completed the homework. Then I changed my clothes.

Dad called me downstairs at 3 45 as my friends started coming in. Then we had fun for a little while then I cut the cake, then we played badminton.

Now it was dad and Duke. Dad started the game they played for what seemed like forever. Then dad won.

"Good game, Ash," Duke said.

"Yes, you too," He said. 

Then we were sitting outside just having fun in the garden. 

Dad was with his friends and me with my friends. Then we heard fireworks in the sky and a message that displayed Happy Birthday Sophie. The message read. I knew someone did it and I knew that someone was dad just cause who else would do a thing like this. But I acted like I was surprised as I didn't wanna hurt his feelings. Then the song came on. Then Dad held my hand and we danced together, swaying to the music he occasionally spun me around, and then I danced with my friends. As the grown-ups got into their conversations. The parties he did were always amazing.

I never felt like mom wasn't there cause every year he would overdo it but I always enjoyed it and so did all my friends. At 6 pm they all went home. Then it was me and Dad.

"What do you wanna do?" He asked.

"I wanna watch a movie," I said.

He put the leftover cake in a bowl and kept two spoons in it. We did that every year after mine or his birthday. We put on a movie it was chapter 2. We once watched Chapter 1. It was also amazing and so was the second part. At around 9 pm, we were finished with the movie and the cake. I got up from the couch we were sitting on and walked to the kitchen.

I took a stool to grab a packet of chips as I wasn't tall enough to reach on my own and he kept them at a high place so that I wouldn't eat them often.

When I opened it, he rolled his eyes.

" Why Dad today is my birthday," I said.

" So, did I say anything?" He said.

Then we both sat on the counter quietly. He was thinking about something.

"What are you thinking about?" I asked.

"Nothing, just wondering about some things."He said.

I nodded.

Then we walked to sit on the couch.

Then, I dozed off to sleep Keeping my head on his shoulder.

He carried me up to my room, tucked me in and kissed me on the forehead, and said goodnight sleep well.  I just looked too tired to say anything.
