Sophie pov

We stare at each other, I knew but it hadn't sunken in yet.   My uncle looked exactly like Mom which made me tear up a bit but I quickly wiped them. I couldn't cry, not yet not now not ever it had been time since she died. I should be okay 

"Come in, and make yourself at home." Dad said as he stood up. All of them sat on the sofa. I greeted both of them and sat beside Disha.  All of them started to talk except us we were both kinda shocked

"What's that how did you injure yourself, Ashton?" 

"I just tripped and fell." He says

"Ah alright"

"Disha is your dad a doctor?" I whispered asked disha.

"Yeah, he got a job in a hospital 20 minutes from here." Disha said.

I did the math and he possibly could be the president.

All of us had lunch and started dancing to random songs. Dad was sitting and singing along to the song.

"Sophie, dance with me?" My uncle asked extending his hand.

"Sure."

As we danced along, we also started talking.

"So you miss your mom?" He asked.

"Yeah, sometimes dad makes up for both of them. "I say

"Great and dont call me uncle that is way too old. Call me anuj and your aunt Mihika." He says.

"Sure. Are you a doctor too?" Disha told me but I didn't want it to be awkward

"Yep." He says. We dance a bit more. Then the music is turned down.

"A dance for the couple there." Duke said.

"No, we can't anymore." Mihika said.

"Come on, just one." Dad said.

"Fine." They said and the song Black and white played. I loved that somg it was comfort for me. They were entirely in sync as if they were  deciding the steps by their eyes. Their sync was just like mom and dad. I watched a few of their dances. It was just perfect.  Soon, the song was done and we all sat on the couch. I was tired so I rested my head on dads shoulder.

"Tired?" He asked. I nodded and put my head on his chest and hugged him.  After some time, they all went. I knew Disha was still in shock as she didn't even expect it.

"Dad, Duke I will be in my room studying." I say.

"Good luck.  We're right here for you." Dad says. I go upstairs into my room and start studying. 

5 hours later............

Dad came into my room it was around 11 pm.

"Sophie, you didn't sleep last night too get to bed." He said.

"Dad, I can't. This test  is important and you know my maths." I say.

"Well, your teacher called me today he said to tell you to give yourself a break." He said

"Dad, it's fine it's just an all-nighter." I say.

"Sophie, please wake up at 5. At least 5 hours of sleep." He said.

"Dad, it's okay." I say.

"No,  it's not. Bed now." He said sternly. I just closed my books and laid down, He pulled the covers over me. 

"Sleep. Study in the morning."  He said. I nodded. He goes out when I am sure he is out I keep on studying.

Ashton pov

I knew Sophie wasn't sleeping I was worried she has always been stressed about tests or exams. But this much, never.  I wasn't sleeping myself.  I couldn't. Sarah struggled a lot with this, she had breakdowns when she got a bad score on any test even if it didn't matter.  All these years she had always here like a voice in my head. A voice helping me parent. 

I grabbed my phone and headphones. And the first song San Francisco. She would've loved this song. I listened to music for a few hours and it was morning. My foot was way better now. So, I went into Sophie's room.

She was sitting on her desk studying as expected. 

Sophie pov

I didn't sleep the whole night and dad came in.

"You didn't sleep, right?" He asked.

"Nope,  I am sorry." I say.

"It's fine." He says. He looked tired.

"Did you sleep?" I ask.

"Nope." He said.

"Get ready." He said.

I got ready, had breakfast, and boarded the bus. I got to school and Disha and I decided to just keep it a secret until someone asks.
