Keefe.

I am not letting this bozo out of my sight EVER again.

Keefe looks down at me. "Come on. Let's get you home."

Home. Grady and Edaline. Iggy.

Keefe gets out a crystal and the light starts to devour him.

Keefe tries to pull me along, but I stand my ground.

"What about the Neverseen?" I ask.

"We'll deal with them after we get you home." Keefe's tone is light, but the words are heavy.

"Promise?"

"Promise."

And with that, I disappear into the light.

Keefe's gone missing.

First Sophie, now my best friend.

The Neverseen are going to pay.

They've been quiet recently. They're up to something.

"AAAAAAAH!" Someone screams. Biana.

I run down the stair and I see Biana sitting at the table.

With Keefe.

--Linh--

Fitz called us over. He said it was emergency.

Tam and I leap to Everglen immediately.

The rest of the gang is already sitting down.

Tam huffs. "Why'd ya call us over, Goldenboy?"

There's some noise coming from the pantry. "What's that noise?" I ask.

I open the pantry door, and I see Keefe.

And Sophie.

"AAAAAAAAAH!" I scream.

--Tam--

Linh.

I run to the pantry, where I see Linh.

She's staring at Keefe and Sophie.

The rest of the gang comes running behind me.

Keefe sighs. "So much for grand entrance."

And that's the last thing he can say before him and Sophie getting scooped up in a hug.

"You are never leaving our sights again." Marella threatens, but her heart's not in it.

When we pull apart, Keefe looks at me. "Gee, I thought you didn't like me."

"I didn't and I still don't." I say flatly. "But... we're like a family. And if you can't tell, I'm very protective of my family." I nod towards Linh.

"I love you guys," Sophie says, and pulls us into another hug.
