The King of that time, Min Hyunwoo, had heard of this.  Gods.  Gods coming to the overworld and to each Kingdom to know which side they will take.

Hyunwoo thought it was all a joke, immature for his old age, he never grew out of taking things playfully.  He never learned.

And as he stood in front of the 2 gods in front of him, his wife took his hand, "Choose wisely."

"But this is not anything but a prank!" He cheered, pointing to the goddess of curses, her face morphing to one of confusion as he ridiculed her. 

Her brother, the god of faith and wisdom, just let her have her fun.  This man was no enemy or ally.

So his family was cursed, the son born from the daughter of his future generations will hold a curse of destroying everything they had succeeded. 

Generations were sure to never have a daughter, and if they did, she was not allow to marry or carry a child.  They were aware of this and didn't mind.

Until both royal parents died, leaving a daughter to continue the bloodline.

And give birth to a son.
