Chapter 52
Yawning gently, my eyes flutter open as the sound of birds chirping outside my window signals that the day has finally begun. A faint smile stretches across my lips as I shift underneath my covers and stretch my arms over my head. The delicious burn in my hips reminds me of the activities from the previous night making me hum and admire my engagement ring settling happily on my engagement finger. Heart swells with utter happiness as I slide out of bed and grab my bed robe, my whole body releasing an aura of happiness. Slipping into my slippers and tying my robe, I check my reflection in the mirror and smile at it. This is probably the most happy I've felt ever when it comes to waking up.
Usually, I'm grouchy as fuck in the mornings. I am really not a morning person and Katsuki can definitely vouch for me on that front. The amount of times I've snapped at him in the mornings is astronomical. It's like the cliché : don't talk to me until I've had my coffee (but I'm not really a coffee drinker and I don't see the fascination).
I head downstairs to the kitchen with my head held high, the smell of pancakes wafting through the air as I get to the bottom step while my stomach calls out to me to get the food that smells so divine. Immediately, like a moth to a flame, I'm drawn toward the kitchen. My eyes fall upon Katsuki already whizzing around the kitchen like no mans business. The male smiling to himself as he flips the pancakes and flawlessly manages to catch it. He knows he's good at that. He's good at practically everything he does.
Happily, I walk into the kitchen and lean against the counter as he piles the pancakes up on the plate. A grin plays across his lips as he leans across to me and captures my lips against his, a faint hum leaves my lips as he pulls away and smiles. Katsuki's eyes glimmer with pure love as he sets the pancakes down and hands me the toppings for them. Licking my lips, I sit down and immediately begin to dig into my meal. My stomach happily taking the food while Katsuki sits opposite me to do the same. My fiancé playfully throwing strawberries at my from time to time to tease me.
My fiancé...
God. I can't believe it. Katsuki and I are engaged! We're soon to be husband and wife. He's going to be my husband! Five years ago, I would not have thought I'd be engaged to someone as powerful and as strong and as amazing as Kat. It's almost surreal... marrying someone like Katsuki. There's so much to sort out but I know that it'll come further down the line.
While I eat, I can't help but notice the gleam of my engagement ring in the light of the dining room. The diamond that's the star of the show reminding me of the fact that I'm engaged to someone as successful and as romantic as Katsuki Bakugo. The ring sits cosy on my finger, nesting just above the dips where my fingers connect to my palm. On Katsuki's hand, there's a simple silver engagement band that sits on his engagement finger, a ring that used to belong to his grandfather when he was engaged to his grandmother. An heirloom that Masaru passed on to Katsuki a couple months ago when Katsuki and I had been dating for a while.
"So what's the plan for today?" I ask, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear and swallowing down the last of the pancakes from my plate while I lean against the table and slide my hand into his, "Do you have work today?"
"Nope, but I do have a present for you," Katsuki explains, setting down his cutlery and chuckling as I tilt my head confused. He's already given me plenty of presents that I've been so so spoiled that I can't even begin to think about repaying him, "It's an engagement gift, I bought it a couple weeks ago and it's finally ready for you,"
"What is it?" I ask, sending him a nervous smile as he clears his throat and grabs the empty plates to place in the dishwasher, "Can I know what it is?"
"Go get yourself dressed, put your shoes on and I'll take you there," Katsuki speaks up, kissing my cheek before walking off toward the bathroom to have a shower, "You'll love it, I promise you,"
Knowing it's best to trust him and go with the flow, I push to my feet and head upstairs to our shared bedroom to pull out some clothes from the closet. A faint smile plays on my lips as I pull out a simple shirt and pants combo before changing into those clothes and accessorizing the look while Katsuki get's ready. As I finish clasping my necklace around my neck, I grab my simple hoop earrings and secure them in place before securing a belt around my waist to prevent my pants from falling down my hips. Once happy with my reflection, I head toward the landing and slide downstairs to the foyer to slip into my shoes.
As Katsuki leaves the bathroom in a plume of steam, I press another kiss to his lips before grabbing my toothbrush and brushing my teeth. My heart beats in my chest as I wonder what this present could possibly be. He could be showing me something at his agency. Maybe it's a hero outfit for when I begin training at his agency to keep up with my self defense... or maybe it's going to be some jewelry to match with my engagement ring. It could be anything when it comes to Katsuki, he's always trying to go out of his way to make me feel better and I can't believe that he does it so often. Not that I'm complaining.
After getting ready, Katsuki and I head toward the car and get in. The blonde smiles to himself as he buckles in and switches on the ignition. His ruby eyes glimmer with joy as he reverses out of the driveway toward the city. Linking my hand with his on the gearstick, I look out the window and watch as everyone passes us by. Pride swells out of my chest as Katsuki beeps the horn at Shoto and Momo who are standing outside Katsuki's agency before showing them our hands in the window. Immediately, Shoto drops the paperwork in his hands and stares at us with wide eyes as he parks up.
"She said yes?!" Shoto squawks as I get out of the car and laugh as Momo scoops me up into her arms and squeezes the life out of me. The ponytail wearing woman squealing at the top of her lungs as I hug her back and squeal just as loud, "Did you bribe her or something? Did you hold her at gunpoint?"
"She said yes because she wanted to," Katsuki tells him, kicking his shin playfully before snorting as Shoto tries to freeze his hand when he picks up the paperwork from the floor. The red and white haired male smiling as he admires my ring, "And because I'm the best damn boyfriend in the whole entire universe that she's damn lucky I even proposed,"
"Katsuki," I warn, sending him a playful glare while he goes to kick Shoto over again before kissing his cheek and lean into my fiancé's side, "Be nice, he's only teasing,"
"So what are you guys doing here?" Momo asks as she tucks a stray strand of hair behind her ear and lean into Shoto as she can't stop smiling, "I thought you were off work, Bakugo,"
"I'm showing her the present I got her," Katsuki explains, snorting as Shoto's eyes shimmer with excitement while I giggle and kiss his cheek, "Don't ruin it Icyhot! You know what I'll do if you ruin it!"
"Fine, fine, fine," Shoto whines, pouting to himself as he looks toward Momo who giggles and beckons Shoto into Katsuki's agency to sort out the paperwork that's left in Katsuki's office so he doesn't have to do it when he gets back to the agency for work, "Enjoy your present! You'll love it!"
Giggling, I look toward Katsuki who kisses the back of my hand before leading me away from the agency. Arching a brow, I look at him confused before following him down the sidewalk to the building beside his agency. Slowly, Katsuki stops in front of the building and grins as he begins to fumble through his pockets. As he does so, I look toward the building and smile to myself. It's a pretty large two story building with gorgeous white borders around the bricked walls. Two large oak doors stand before us with polished golden doorknobs. It's a beautiful property. My eyes slide back to Katsuki before watching as he grabs a set of keys.
And unlocks the two doors before opening them up and ushering me in...
Confused, I walk in and look around. Eyes assessing the whole inside of the property. A large grand staircase stands in the center of the room that leads up to the second floor. It's an open planned building that would be perfect for a public venue. A restaurant even. The windows were framed with white frames and glossy windowsills. A glass chandelier hangs from the ceiling as I walk further in and admire the whole building. It's amazing. It's beautiful. But why are we here?...
Slowly, I look toward Katsuki who smiles and nods toward something across from me. Nervously, I look over and see a small table that would be for two. A circular oak table with a silk tablecloth over the top and a cute little vase with a red rose inside stands alone in the grand room of the bottom floor. Beside the vase lays a letter with my name written on it in beautiful handwriting that I can assume must be Shoto's or Momo's handwriting. Taking a deep breath, I open the letter and pull out a rather important document that details about insurances and suppliers and...
The owner of the property...
Under that title, is my name. My name is put as the owner of this property. The building I'm standing in right now is the building that belongs to me. The insurances were all under my name. It was all for me. Staring toward Katsuki, I watch as he walks over and slides the keys into my palm before kissing my nose.
"Katsuki... what is all this for?" I ask gently, watching as he sits down at the table and leans his elbows on the silk, "You're giving me a building?"
"This is for your restaurant," Katsuki tells me, watching as my heart stops and I freeze in place. The papers in my hands falling to the ground as I gawk at him and bite back a happy sob, "I bought this place for you to use for your restaurant. I knew you wanted to own one so... I'm giving this building to you to make that dream happen. You lost your first dream... I'm not letting you lose another,"
"My restaurant?... K -- Katsuki... I..." I stammer, blinking back the tears as I cover my mouth and burst into tears. My heart swelling with happiness as I run to him and wrap my arms around him tightly, "Thank you so much! This is amazing!"
"I'm glad you like it," He tells me, chuckling as I bury my head into his shoulder and cry happily into it. His arms holding me tightly to his chest as I cling to him and nod, "The building is paid off so the only thing we need to pay off is insurance every year, taxes obviously and then any other additions you want to this place. We can fit in the kitchens and order furniture... this is all yours and I will help you reach this goal,"
Sniffling, I pull away from my fiancé and look around at the large open space that is my own property. Immediately, the thought of what will go where floods into my brain. The specials board in one place and a large fish tank in another spot. Having the kitchen over there and then a garden view table over there. It'll be perfect...
"Kat...you're amazing,"...
"I love you, Baby Face, so so much,"...
"I love you so much more, Kat!"...
