Chapter 46
Humming softly, I stretch my arms over my head as watch as my mother flits around the kitchen clad in a pair of jeans and a t shirt. A giggle leaving her lips as she stands at the stove with her hand wrapped around the handle of the pan. The sweet smell of pancakes wafts around the air. My mouth waters at the sheer sight of pancakes being made by my mothers hand. A rare sight that I have hardly ever seen in my twenty one years of living on this earth. My mother making me breakfast is a rare sight as it is... but pancakes?! Pancakes are like 'birthday' material or sometimes even 'anniversary' material. Today is obviously a good day for my mother...
It's nice to see my parents flitting around the kitchen. My mother hardly cooks. It's more my dad doing the cooking because he finds it easier to do and mom doesn't like cooking meat (she gets too attached to the farm animals). My father is being a bit territorial over his kitchen. He's making sure she's doing it all correctly which is amusing considering my mom can cook despite the fact that she hardly does so. It's almost like Katsuki whenever I cook in his kitchen.
Katsuki worships his kitchen.
When I first moved in, or just started living with him, and I used his kitchen for the first time, Katsuki wouldn't leave me alone. He was over my shoulder, telling me when I put the oven too hot (when it was perfect for the food). He scolded me when I used my own oven mitts and not his which made me kick him out of the kitchen until I finished. He got better over time. Well, every now and then he'll hover over and watch me cook before nodding to himself and walk away. It's like he's judging all of my cooking. He's like my professor! It's hilarious yet creepy... but that's what I love about him...
Minutes later, mom slides my plate of pancakes toward me before kissing my cheek. I felt like a child again. A sweet, little eight year old who had a rough night with spiders crawling into her bed and racing into her parents room to get away from them. I felt like five year old clad in a princess outfit that was inspired by Tiana (my soul princess and my inspiration to own my own restaurant and not kiss a frog to get there) excited at the fact that my birthday had finally arrived. My father even scattered blueberries over them!
"Now, eat up," My mom hums, smiling as I immediately delve into the sweet goodness that is pancakes homemade by my mother, "Could you feed the chickens and the sheep for me? I need to help your father at Endeavor's agency, apparently his oldest son is working at his agency for extra cash now to help his wife with little Mizumi's birthday party,"
"Ah yeah, I'm catering for that," I let her know, smiling softly as my mother coos and watches as I complete the pancakes, "I'm doing the birthday cake and I'm making some other foods too. But the birthday cake is the pièce de résistance,"
"Of course, a one year old's birthday party revolves around the birthday cake," My mother hums before kissing my cheek and slipping into her shoes, "We'll be back around dinner, let Katsuki know he can stay for dinner when he comes over, okay?"
"Yeah, ma," I hum, letting her scurry out of the house with my father in tow before taking a deep breath to psyche myself up, "Come on, (Y/n)..."
With my breakfast eaten, my teeth cleaned and I'm fully showered, I head toward my bedroom to grab my farming gear. Knowing that I needed clothes that were fine with getting mucky. Growing up on a farm, you realise that you need some dirty clothes or old clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Farming is a messy job to say the least, it's not as glamorous as most people think it is. It's not all collecting eggs and having organic and homegrown food! It's also rearing the animals, keeping them healthy and making sure they're all happy!
Settling for an old top and some leggings, I change into those chosen clothes and slip some rain boots on as well. I'm not going out there in sneakers! Once that's all on, I grab my hair tie and tie my hair up so it's out of my face and doesn't get mud all over it. That's the last thing I needed right now.
With so many things on my mind, I think if one thing goes wrong it'll just set me off. Katsuki coming here is a huge deal. It's a massive deal that I can't forgot about nor take lightly! I mean, we're making up for the fight we had the other night. We're building our relationship and we're going to go forward! It's great.
Once I have what I want on, I head back downstairs and grab a bucket to fill full of chicken feed. A small smile plays on my lips as I head toward the barn and fill it with the grains and corns that our chickens have. The sounds of the chickens cawing and chirping making me smile as I head toward their pen and climb in. I scatter their feed across their little home, making sure that they're all being fed before setting the bucket outside and grabbing a basket to see if there's any eggs available that aren't fertilised.
As I collect the eggs, I take a deep breath and check the geese quickly. The geese freak me out. Mainly because I was bit by a goose when I was five and I haven't been able to be near them for more than five seconds. And they hiss! What bird hisses?! Amongst other poultry, we also own three ducks, two geese and a couple of guinea fowl. My mom loves all sorts of animals and she's always taking more and more in. We have over ten chickens, a rooster in this pen with the geese, duck and guinea fowl.
We also have five pigs, seven sheep and three dairy cows. It's anarchy at its best.
With the chickens fully fed and happy, I climb out of their pen and head toward the bigger animals. I fill their troughs with their feed, making sure they have enough water to last them throughout the day before climb into the cow pen to begin milking. It's usually my mother's job to do this. She spends hours with these animals. She's even named the three cows which makes her even more attached to them! We have three female dairy cows: Daisy, Bessie and Patch (cliché I know). It's hard to tear them apart so we have to put little colours collars on them to know which is which.
Grabbing a clean bucket, I sit down on the stool and call Bessie over before beginning to milk her. A small hum leaving my lips as the milk spurts into the bucket. My eyes focusing on my task before letting her scurry off to allow me to milk Daisy and Patch as well. Daisy likes to fidget when you milk her and it's a pain in the ass! She constantly moos as well. She isn't an easy cow to handle.
"Looking good, Baby Face!"
My eyes widen slightly at the voice before I pull away from Patch to let her go back to eating the grass in her pen. Taking a deep breath, I stand up and turn toward Katsuki before smiling to myself and grabbing the bucket full of milk. A grin spreads across the blondes face as I walk over to him, the fence between us, and look up at him. He presses a chaste kiss to my lips. A kiss that makes my stomach flutter before pulling away and smiling to himself. His ruby eyes sparkle slightly as I smile up at him.
"How you feeling?" He asks gently, chuckling as I lift the milk bucket for him to take and place down on his side before holding his arms out for me, "I know it isn't twelve yet but I wanted to see you sooner,"
"I'm okay," I tell him, climbing over the fence and giggling as he pulls me into his arms and peppers kisses all over my face, "I missed you,"
"Oh I missed you more," he hums, pulling me close. Just letting time roll by with my ear to his chest. Holding me like I'd disappear at any second, "I'm just glad we can fix this whole mess and make it right,"
"Me too..." I reply, snuggling into his warmth and taking a deep breath, "Let's go inside, I need to sort the milk and eggs out,"
Nodding; Katsuki picks up the milk bucket while I grab the eggs before following me into the house. The three dogs: Cherry, Rover and Winnie were fast asleep in the living room which made it easier to sort the eggs and the milk. We halve the milk into drinking and churning for butter and cream. Pretty much most of the groceries we have are made from the farm. We have our own vegetable patch that is currently growing cucumbers, tomatoes, squashes, lettuces and carrots. We even have an orchid of fruit trees.
As I pour the milk into the bottles, Katsuki wraps his arms around me from behind and rests his head on his shoulder. Relaxation courses through my veins as I lean into him and smile gently to myself. I missed him. I missed the cuddles. I missed the kisses. I missed everything about him.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" He asks softly, looking toward me as I take a deep breath and set the milk in the fridge, "Wanna talk about what happened?"
"Okay... yeah uh... come to my room," I tell him softly, letting him follow me into my room before I shut the door and lean against it as he sits down on my bed, "For starters, don't say anything until I am finished. This is hard enough for me and I want to just get it out there before I chicken out again. Okay?"
"Okay, I'm all ears," He promises, kissing my cheek as I nod and take a deep breath before taking off my top, "Babe, what are you —"
He's cut off when I finally take it off. I'm just wearing a sports bra underneath. My scar is out in the open. Staring at him. His eyes widen slightly as he looks before looking toward me as I gulp. I told him not to say anything until I was finished. So I can't gauge his reaction properly until he speaks. Gulping down the anxiety, I take a deep breath and begin to talk.
"In U.A... in my first year, as you know, I was one of the top people in my class. I became second in the sports festival," I begin, watching as his eyes flit between me and the scar. He now knows why I never let him see my stomach, "After the festival, I was on my way home... that man... he grabbed me from the streets and pulled me into an alleyway. Tried to have his way with me. I didn't know why...
I fought him. I kicked him away and ran out into the streets to get away from him. I ran in the direction of the school. Before I got there, he... I don't know if it was his quirk, but I either feel through a black hole or he emerged... either way, I ended up in an alleyway. He stabbed me in the stomach, told me that I shouldn't have become second... that I was a poor excuse of a hero... and ran off... Shota found me in the alleyway and the rest is history..."
"Was he a villain?" Katsuki asks slowly, pushing to his feet while I look down at the floor and sniffle, "Baby, talk to me,"
"I don't know, Kat... I don't know," I tell him, tears running down my cheeks as he rests his hands on my bare waist and looks at me while I sniffle, "I don't even know why he did it... I never did anything wrong to anyone..."
"Some people are jealous of others and think that attacking or killing them is a way of getting rid of it," Katsuki explains, his hand cupping my cheek as I sob quietly, "Breathe, baby. Take a deep breath, I'm here,"
"I got rushed into hospital and I..." I whimper, clinging to him as he holds me close and rocks me back and forth while I bury my head into his neck, "I had surgery... I was in the hospital for weeks..."
"Oh baby..." he coos, kissing my cheek and rubbing my back as I sob into him, "I got you, he's in prison now... he's gone. You're safe, I promise you,"
"That's why I couldn't let you see my stomach... I hate this scar... I hate it," I tell him, sniffling as I look up at him while he gently traces it with his thumb, "I got scared... I thought you wouldn't like me anymore and I —"
Katsuki's lips smash against mine before I could finish the sentence. My heart beating rapidly as he pulls me closer and deepens the kiss while I whimper and wrap my arms around his neck. My fingers tangle in his hair as I sniffle, pulling him closer while he sits down on the bed and pulls me into his lap. I straddle his thighs. My own thighs tremble slightly as he pulls away. Ruby irises staring up at me as I pant gently and look down at him.
"Baby, I love you so much," he tells me, smiling as I break into tears and smile clinging to him like a child, "I would never ever, not love you because of that. That scar isn't something to be ashamed of okay? No one will shame you for it, I promise you,"
"I'm sorry," I tell him, smiling as he kisses my nose and shakes his head, "I just didn't want to ruin what we had... I guess I kinda did anyway..."
"We all make mistakes, it's the way we thrive," he tells me, kissing me again while I cling to him and hum as he lays us down on the bed. Me underneath his form. His lips pepper my neck, "I love you, (Y/n). I love you so so much,"
"I love you too, Katsuki," I hum, wrapping my arms around his neck as he marks the skin of my neck before clearing his throat, "It's okay, we can... I missed you,"
"I'm gonna worship you, you know that?"...
"You always do,"...
"Because you're perfect to me,"..
