Previously on Sonic UA....

In the aftermath of the Metal Overlord incident and the group recovering Aura, the blue wolf himself is facing demands for punishment for everything he did as the Mecha Knight under Eggman, forcing the Freedom Fighters to try to prepare a legal defense for their friend.

But one night, an attempt on the life of the human liaison to the Freedom Fighters, Agent Adams, leaves the team on edge as the attacker looks like Aura....despite Aura being at the castle while this happens.

Then the group realizes to their horror that Eggman may have discovered how to make genetic clones and the attacker was made from DNA samples of Aura while he was still Mecha Knight......though the clone may also be more unstable due to further looks into the design.

To top that off, tensions and possible divisions are formed between Knothole's Freedom Fighters and G.U.N's new unit Team Dark over what to do about the clone, with some Freedom Fighters like Hip believing the clone should be spared and rehabilitated while Shadow believes they have no choice but to end the clone's life.

The situation for Aura gets even worse when the clone is seen on worldwide television attacking Empire City in an attempt on the life of the President of the United Federation, not only getting him accused of more serious crimes......but also increasing tensions between human territories and Mobian territories.

The threat of a second Great War between humans and Mobians looms over the world...

Meanwhile, over on Eggman's side and unknown to the heroes...

Eggman has not only made one Aura clone.....but 3: The cunning and sly Dusk, the sadistic and cruel Twilight and the savage and bloodthirsty Nights.

Dusk, the one responsible for the attempt on Agent Adams and who led the attempt on the President, has been "plotting" with Eggman to trigger another war between humans and Mobians to distract the Freedom Fighters from Eggman returning to takeover the world during the chaos.

The attack on the President was really Dusk being recruited into the violent mystery group to puppeteer them into starting the war.

Dusk has also taken control over soldiers and officials inside G.U.N, setting up an elaborate mess of authority and bureaucracy that Team Dark will struggle to navigate around and fail to respond to threats in time or even plot to have them fight the Freedom Fighters.

Dusk and Eggman plan to sneak G.U.N a secret weapon under the guise of it being the organization's idea as defense and countermeasures to Mobian attacks......only for it to be a trick to trigger a mass casualty scenario in order to fully trigger Great War 2.

Mysteriously though, the group of mysterious Mobians also have access to databases from Eggman and G.U.N, as well as their own DNA sample or two of one of the Freedom Fighters.

And G.U.N seems to also be tracking activity of Eggman and the mysterious enemy.

Eggman, G.U.N and Mobian attackers all seem like they each have the edge over their enemies...

But something more mysterious and sinister seems at play in this Cold War between factions.

(Your OC) meets with G.U.N Commander Abraham Towers in secret, the human military leader warning (Your OC) that not all is as it seems and that there may be enemies within....before getting taken down by an unknown attacker.

Towers slips (Your OC) a hard drive before he completely falls, warning to be careful and to not let it slip into enemy hands.

With all of this...the world is on edge as the next move could mean crisis averted......or the fate of the world being sealed permanently in war.

New Mobotropolis (Acorn Castle)

Agent Adams ends his phone call as he walks into the room that most of the Freedom Fighters are in.

"How was it?" Sally asks, having recently gotten back from the United Federation after trying to peacefully negotiate the trial.

"Not good." Adams shakes his head. "Not only is Aura still assumed to be the attacker on the capital towards the President, he's now being accused of being Commader Towers' assassin despite no one seeing if it was a wolf Mobian that did it. The deal about the trial is being considered to be thrown out in favor of demanding the Royal Family hand Aura over to face the death penalty."

"Death Row?!" Sonic says in stubborn resistance. "No way! Not while I'm around!"

"Sonic, we gotta be careful here!" Siri says trying to calm her cousin down. "This isn't just a simple good guy vs bad guy situation you can just run in and stop. This is leaders trying to ease tensions between their nations. Like a balloon, if you aren't careful, the whole thing will blow up in front of you."

"What are we supposed to do?" Rotor asks the group while he was tweaking a device he had with him. "We're on a time limit to respond while the clone that really did all of this is still running around scot free."

Just as they were thinking about the next step, Nicole speaks up.

"Sally, we have someone at the castle entrance that wishes to speak to you."
