(A/n: for those who don't know Emily is my sonic OC please do not steal. If you want to use her in your story please ask me first.

Sonic and Emily quickly made a mad dash for the forest. Luckily Emily had the same superspeed as Sonic so she didn't need to worry about him having to carry her.

(Emily) Sonic! They're gaining on us!!

When Sonic looked behind him he noticed that she was correct. Sonic then took a turn down a pathway that nobody knew about. Luckily for them a friend of there's had noticed them and immediately went to the same area that they were going to.

(Sonic's POV)
When I reached my Destiination I noticed that knuckles was waiting at the entrance of the cave. In all honesty there is literally no possible way to describe how relieved I was to see him. On our way here Emily had hurt her leg as she was still getting used to her new legs.

(Sonic) {Sigh} Oh Knuckles, you have no idea how relieved I am to see you.

Knuckles asked if there was any possible way that he could help and I asked him if he could help me get Emily into the moon pool. When we reached the edge of the moon pool knuckles climbed in and began to change in appearance. Knuckles was now a Mer-creature called a...merchidna.

(Shadow's POV)
Blaze, Rouge, Silver and I all decided to split up. We agreed that it would be easier to find sonic and his friend if we had split up. When I finally found sonic I couldn't believe what I had seen next. Knuckles sonic and sonic's young friend had all turned into mer-creatures!

(Shadow) Sweet Möbius!!

I quickly slapped my hand over my mouth realizing that I had said that out loud. I can't believe I shouted that I mean was I trying to get somebody's attention! Unfortunately for me they had in fact caught me.

(Sonic) Shadow?!

Knuckles was the only one to climb out of the small pool in the ground. After a few seconds his tail had turned back into a set of legs and the armor he was wearing had disappeared.

(Knuckles) Come on out Shadow, we know it's you!

With a reluctant sigh I walked out into the open and then marched right over to the pool that sonic and his little merfox friend were currently in. Knuckles was standing by the pool and looked like he was ready to attack me if he had to. The little yellow two tailed fox and I were always the only two out of everyone that sonic knew to notice that knuckles was extremely over protective of Sonic... but we could never figure out why.

All my attention then went back to sonic and his little frightened merfox friend. He then became nervous as I glared daggers into his eyes. I then asked him how long and he just gave me a confused look. I did let out a frustrated sigh and gave him a look of pure irritation as I asked my question more clearly.

(Shadow) how long have you been mer-creatures!?

The three of them looked at each other with the same worried look on their faces. Sonic then let out a sigh and turn to me with a sad look on his face. It always hurt my heart to see him so sad or scared. I have had a crush on him for quite a while now and yet with me working for gun I couldn't let my feelings for him get in the way. So to keep him safe I had to pretend like I hated him when in reality I had and still have a major crush on him.

(Sonic) all our lives.

Finding out that they were born mer-creatures was a complete shock for me. I then told him that The others deserved to know, especially his little fox friend. Sonic understood but told me that he wanted to tell them when he felt he was ready seeing as I had already found out. I could except this but I had to make sure that he would promise me to tell everybody before this trip came to an end. One things for sure though.... This is gonna be one heck of a long week.
