The dome from inside the Grim began to get smaller. Inside the citadel, Sonic and Nine were still fighting as they were separated from inside Nine's lab, Sonic bumps himself near the railing and falls to the floor, as he looks up towards the Paradox Prism, Nine who still wanted his energy unleashed three laser beams from his robot tails causing Sonic to quickly jump on the bar. Then, Sonic used his shield to protect himself, but ended up being pushed back as he struggled on. However, he was knocked towards the wall as he falls down. He manages to get up facing Nine again, but he turns around to see his bed next to two palm trees on each side.

"You planned this for me?"

Soon enough, Nine yells and charges at Sonic.

"Nine, listen!"

Nine swings a crystal and fire laser shots.

"I didn't understand what you were doing. Whoa!"

Sonic soon dodges Nine's attacks.

"Stop talking!"

Then, Sonic spin rolls to avoid the lasers.

"You just wanted a better life! Like Green Hill, but for both of us!"

Sonic jumps, almost losing his balance as kept moving around.

"Stand still and fight me!"

Nine was about to attack, a wall explosion suddenly appeared covering the lab in smoke. As it started to clear up, both Sonic and Nine groaned as he looks up in surprise.

"It's over, Nine."

Reveal Shadow holding Gwen feeling weak and tired, the Chaos Council, the Resistance, the Scavengers and the Angel's Voyage crew all gathered to face against Nine.

"Get back! Don't make me destroy you all!" Nine said

"Is that what you want? More destruction? Look outside!" Sonic said, as Nine looks up and could see the dome shrinking.

"I'm sorry for everything, Nine. I missed my home so much and was so focused on getting it back that I didn't listen to what you wanted or appreciate what you were trying to do. I never meant to hurt you especially your feelings." Gwen apologized sadly

Nine looks at Gwen for a short second, then looks away with an angry expression.

"But, you did."

He then looks up, whimpering.

"I lost my home and all my friends. But friends talk it out. They don't turn their backs on each other and fight to the death." Sonic said.

With Sonic's word's reaching him, he looks at Gwen the second time with sadness

"Enough talk! Light this fox up, full volley!"

Mr. Dr. Eggman soon started shooting at Nine. But then, Sonic quickly protected him and Gwen with his shield.

"Stop! Everyone stop! This isn't the solution!"

The Chaos Council stopped attacking to realized what they have heard.

"You would, protect him?" Rusty Rose asked.

"I would." Sonic said.

"Me too." Gwen added.

"The blue and light blue rodents has finally lost it. Very well: destroy them!" Mr. Dr. Eggman yelled.

"Stop, all of you! In a few minutes, there won't be anything left to fight over." Sonic said.

"The hedgehog makes a good point." Dr. Deep sees a point.

Then, Gwen turns to Nine looking worried.

"I need you to understand."

Nine looks down and turns to look at everyone.

"Their worlds have been shattered, their homes destroyed. The same thing is happening here. How do we stop this?"

Tails hyperventilates and lapses.

"I pushed it too far. This wasn't supposed to happen. I... I'm sorry, Gwen and Sonic. Without a great sacrifice, reality as we know it will be over."

Gwen's ruby necklace begins to glow bright as the rainbow bridge went around them as it shows Iris, Talia, and Emeraldas of the adventures they had together. Nine, Thorn and Dread look at the memories of them together as they look sad, wishing to bring them back.

Dr. Don't sheds tears while Dr. Done-it snores. Dr. Deep gathers the two together and they start sobbing, while Dr. Babble giggles and claps. Shadow firmly looks at Sonic, who looks at one of his gloves in misery.

"Not yet." Sonic said, determined.

He runs and jumps onto the other Shatter Drive in the lab.

"Sonic, what are you doing?" Gwen asked.

"Giving Nine a sacrifice." Sonic answered.

"You'd do that after everything I..." Nine said.

"What are friends for?" Sonic said, turning to Shadow and Gwen, who nods in agreement.

"If I do this, you must all promise to leave Nine alone! Let him live peacefully in his new home in the Grim."

"Sure, certainly. Invade? Us? What do you mean?" Mr. Dr. Eggman said, chuckling.

"Same goes for you, Nine. Promise that you won't cause any more trouble in the other Shatterspaces." Gwen said.

"How can we trust him?" Knucks asked.

"You can trust me." Nine said.

"We have no choice. It all ends here if we don't." Rebel said.

"You have my word."

"Hurry up already!" Dr. Done-It said, angrily banging his fist.

Nine moves over to the keyboard and starts typing.

"If I can extract the remaining Prism energy inside of him, I can use it to fully reform the Paradox Prism."

The screen shows energy depleting from a Sonic icon and a bar to the right of the Paradox Prism raised up to full.

"And then? Spit it out!" Dr. Deep said.

"And then the Prism will finally be fully stable. I can save everything."

"You heard him. We have a plan. Let's move this along." Gwen said.

"For once, I agree with the Gwen. Do it already!" Mr. Dr. Eggman agreed.

"There's a risk. If I remove the energy, he might fall apart." Nine said.

"What about Shadow?" Rebel said, suspicious.

"Shadow wasn't there for the shatter event. He blipped into this reality. But I shattered the Prism." Sonic said.

"And without the Prism energy binding him, I'm not sure he'll make it." Nine said.

"I'm ready." Sonic said.

Nine is shocked by the response, and becomes agonized.

"It's the only way, Nine." Gwen said sadly, putting her hand on his shoulder.

Nine nods in misery, then types on the keyboard once again.

"Do it."

Nine turns to Sonic, miserably, then presses one last button on the keyboard. The Shatter Drive begins lighting up and starts whirring. Sonic grunts as he struggles and floats. His gloves and shoes sparkle with electricity. Waves of light pass over him. Sonic's arms are forced back while his shoes and gloves fluctuate into various looks from different Shatterspaces. The Paradox Prism starts lighting up and shaking, the seam lines which showed where each Shard is located retracting to the center, disappearing. The monitor displays Sonic's energy depleted to empty, having been transferred to the Prism. Sonic's regulators detach, showing his plain gloves and shoes. The Prism bursts a white light which covers the screen. As soon as the light fades, Sonic - who now appears a pale grey with an light outline glowing around him - collapses on the podium, with vapor rising around him. Shadow and Gwen looks over in shock.

"Sonic, are you..." Nine said, worried.

Sonic pants and tries to get up.

"Me? Never better." Sonic said back weakly, kneeling.

"He's still alive. He didn't shatter!" Gwen said, relieved.

Sonic stands, but is affected by a strong spasm...

"Whoa."

...causing him to collapse and fall onto Knucks, who catches him. He twitches again. As Gwen goes to Sonic but she collapses and falls as well as her head is half covered shard and Shadow catches her.

"His Prismatic energy has been extracted. The Prism is whole. His body is holding together, but I'm afraid it's only a matter of time before..." Nine said.

Becomes distracted as Sonic twitches again, struggling.

"Easy, blue. I got ya." Knucks said, helping him up.

"It's okay, Gwen. I got you." Shadow said, holding her.

"And we've got this!" Mr. Dr. Eggman said, pointing to the Paradox Prism.

He, Eggforcers, and the rest of the Chaos Council stand in front of the Prism and display their combat poses in-front of Nine. He growls and tries to run to the keyboard, but Dr. Babble grabs the little fox away from it and threatens him. Dr. Deep draws a sword and points it at Shadow.

"Stand down, Edge Lord. I don't trust one hedgehog, let alone three."

"Dr. Don't! Triangulate whatever is left of New Yoke City." Mr. Dr. Eggman said.

"Once I calibrate to New Yoke City, we're outta here." Dr. Don't said, typing on the keyboard.

Nine threatens and points his mechanical tails at the Council. Dr. Done-It also points his cane weapon towards him.

"Ah-ah-ah! Careful! Look at your friend. He's in no shape to fight." Dr. Done-It said, weapon lighting up.

"He's right. I'm gassed." Sonic said weakly with his arm around Knucks.

"But if Nine could barely handle the power of the Prism, you clowns have no hope." Gwen added.

"Now, now. We must all accept when our time is over. But who knows? Perhaps when I wield the power of the Prism, I'll create a version of you that's more agreeable." Dr. Deep said.

"When you wield it? Wait until you see the VR world I've been planning. I'll call it the "Egg-a-verse." Dr. Don't said, scoffing.

"In your dreams, you no good whippersnapper!"

"What's a whippersnapper?"

Dr. Babble angrily mutters and flails his arms.

"Oh, cram it with walnuts, ya big baby, or I'll give you a permanent timeout!"

"Enough, you fools! We stand at the precipice of a new world, and you would ruin my moment?" Mr. Dr. Eggman said, popping his head out of the cockpit.

"Your moment? Why, you sanctimonious..." Dr Deep said.

Until the prism starts glow bright that blind everyone, a green and blue light comes out and knocked out four doctors and reveals to be Talia and Emeraldas that shocks everyone to see them again.

"Arrgh, what happened?" Emeraldas asked curiously, rubbing her head from the headache.

"I don't know but I..." Talia answered, and they both turned their heads to see their friends, as Thorn and Dread have never been so happy to see them back.

"Emeraldas!"

Dread and the crew ran to hug her tightly.

"Talia!"

Thorn, Birdie, T'Challa, and rest of scavengers ran to hug her tightly as well.

"Emeraldas, I can't believe it's really you!" Dread said in tears.

"Dread? I can't believe it! But where's your hat?" Emeraldas questioned.

Dread looks Black Rose wearing a captain hat, making Emeraldas know a lesson had been learned.

"Oh I see, I'm glad you finally learned something more important than treasure, but don't worry you'll always be my captain."

"And you always be my first mate." Dread said and they kissed and hugged passionately.

"Talia! I can't believe you're back, but how?" Thorn asked.

"When we died unexpectedly, it carries our spirits into that shard to keep us safe." Talia explained.

Mr. Dr. Eggman couldn't believe what he just saw.

"What?! There's more of you?! Then this will be more time as fun to destroy them!"

He was about to attack, until a red light comes up and knocked him out then it revealed to be Iris the leader of the Resistance, alive. Knucks and Rebel ran to Iris to kiss both of her cheeks and hug her tightly and she hugged back as they're happy more than even before.

"Iris! It's you! And you're back!" Renegade said happily.

"But how?" Rebel asked curiously.

"After the Chaos Council killed me, my spirit put me in the shard to keep me safe until the prism is whole again to bring me back." Iris explained, but she saw Nine sad and walked up to him.

"Nine? Are you okay? What happened after I was gone?"

"Iris. I messed up real bad. After the council killed you, I betrayed the Resistance, my friends, stole the shards, transformed the Grim into my new home and nearly killed everyone who's getting in my way. Even after I've been through, I still haven't learn from my mistakes, I'm so sorry Iris. Please forgive me." Nine explained, crying in tears.

Iris gently stroke his head.

"Of course I forgive you Nine. We all made mistakes and my mistake is not being there for you when you need help or feeling down. The most important is that we're all together now and the past is in the past." she said before hugging Nine as he hugged back.

The Chaos Council woke up from being unconscious and was shocked to see Iris back.

"Iris?! We thought we killed you from the first time we had!" Mr. Dr. Eggman said surprisingly.

"You're right, I was until the prism brought us back and now it's time to finish you from the beginning." Iris said, pulling away from Nine and glaring at the council.

"Then we'll enjoy destroying you again!"

"Not this time! Girls on me. Attack!" Iris said.

They begin the fight against Chaos Council for the last time. Shadow prepares to fight, but Rebel holds him back.

"Hold on, Shadow. Let's see how this plays out."

"Stop! Stop, you morons!" Mr. Dr. Eggman yelled, with weapon debris being thrown behind him.

Dr. Deep charges at Emeraldas, who blocks it with her sword and slams the ground. And Talia attacks Dr. Done-It.

"Arghh. Should we do something?" Dread asked.

"Not yet. Let the girls handle this." Knucks said, impressed by Iris and the other versions of Gwen.

While Iris, Talia and Emeraldas fights the chaos council. Sonic, Gwen and Nine look at each other. The hedgehog siblings wink, but twitch and moan again in pain, causing them to grunt and close both eyes. Nine smiles and nods. He hides behind a wall, then makes his way back to the keyboard and starts typing. The Prism opens up a Portal to the Void. Emeraldas charges at Dr. Babble and Dr. Deep, as they crashes into Dr. Done-It as they fly through the portal.

Talia battle cries and spin jumps into Dr. Babble, knocking the screaming baby into the Void. Knucks, Rebel, Rusty and Iris join in the fight against the Council.

"Okay, that's it. I'm out!"

Dr. Don't warps into the portal and starts playing his video game.

"Now we do something." Knucks said, punching his fists.

The Rebels close in slowly on Mr. Dr. Eggman.

"No! This belongs to me! I'll defeat all of you! I'll..."

He is tag teamed by the Rebels and blasted into the void.

"You haven't heard the last of us! You just wait! We will amass an even greater army and destroy-"

The portal whirs and disappears.

"Good riddance." Nine said, smiling a little.

Sonic groans as he twitches again. And Gwen moans in pain.

"Sonic? Gwen?" Nine asked, worried.

"You were right, buddy. Guess without the Prism energy... I can't exist in the Shatterspaces." Sonic said softly as energy crackles, causing him to grunt.

"And I'm about to disappear as well soon." Gwen added softly.

Nine types on the keyboard.

"With the Prism whole again, if I start the reformation process, theoretically, there's still a chance I can bring back Green Hill!"

"Green Hill?" Sonic and Gwen said in unison.

"Here goes."

The diagram shows the Prism on the left, pieces of the prism in the inset, and the portals on a grid to the right. Cut to the Paradox Prism itself, which glows, whirs and shakes. Knucks comforts Sonic while Shadow comforts Gwen. Everyone flinches and braces themselves as the Prism bursts a white light which covers the screen. As soon as it fades, Rebel looks up at the podium.

"Huh?" Rebel questioned.

Cut to the podium; the Prism disappears, with white vapor spewing out.

"The Prism! It be..." Batten said.

"Gone. And nothing has changed. Our attempt has failed." Rusty Rose said.

"Look!" Iris said, pointing up and ahead.

Sonic, Gwen and their friends walk past a crack that had developed in the wall. Everyone gasp as they look up to the purple sky with airborne rocks and portal gateways of different colors, which light up in their respective colors. Crystals from each colored gateway line up and merge together.

"The gateways... are reforming." Sonic said happily with Gwen smiling happily.

The Blue Gateway completes its reformation.

"No Place!" Emeraldas said.

The Green Gateway completes its reformation.

"The Boscage Maze!" Talia said.

A separate colored group of crystals line up close to the Green Gateway. Birdie squawks.

"I don't know what that is, Birdie." Thorn said curiously.

Shadow stares at it. Cut to the newly-formed gateway, which glows white.

"It's...Green Hill. You did it, Nine." Gwen said happily.

"I'm not sure we'll be able to outrun this." Sonic said weakly.

"Yes, you can, if you leave now." Nine said.

"Nine's right. You get to your home, we'll get to ours." Rebel said to Sonic, firmly.

Rebel then looks at Gwen with sadness as it's about time for Gwen to leave.

"Gwen. I guess it's time for you and your brother to go back home. And we'll never forget you." she said sadly as tears comes out.

"And I'll never forget you too. All of you." Gwen said as she carefully walked to versions of herself, starting with Emeraldas by showing her ring on her middle finger.

"Emeraldas, Dread given me the ring from our dance that night at the day we met. And I wanted you to have it."

As Gwen was about to give the ring back, Emeraldas shook her head and gently push her hand away.

"Actually, I want you to have it Gwen. The most important thing about having adventure is sharing the ones you love the most and that pthe treasure is most precious of all."

This made Gwen smile.

"Thank you, Emeraldas."

"Thank you for helpin me crew and me Dread." Emeraldas said.

Gwen then walks next to Talia to introduce T'Challa since the black panther sadly can't come with Gwen.

"Talia, I would like to introduce you to T'Challa. I saved her by removing a splinter from her paw and I'm sure she'll be safe with you."

"Don't worry. I'll take good care of her, besides I always wanted to have an animal friend just like Thorn and Birdie." Talia said, petting T'Challa who purr happily and lick her faces.

Talia giggled and places their foreheads together. Last but not least, Gwen walks up to Iris who hugs her surprisingly and Gwen hugs back as they'll never forget each other.

"Thank you Gwen. For helping Nine by opening up his eyes and his heart, and saving all our lives to live again."

"You're welcome Iris, and I'm so glad you're back."

"Me too, and that's why I'm staying here at the Grim with Nine." Iris said, making Rebel and Knucks shocked to hear it.

"What?! Why?!" they asked in unison.

"Because someone needs to take care of Nine so that he won't be alone anymore and need help with. But don't worry, I'll still communicate you guys and willing to help in need." Iris explained before kissing both their lips.

This caused blushing Rebel and Knucks to faint. Iris chuckles and Gwen looks happy to see her versions together again. She then turns to Sonic.

"Come up bro, let's go home together."

"Even if I wanted to, I can't. I'm outta juice." Sonic said.

"You're not doing it alone. Not when you got friends here to help." Knucks said after getting up from fainting.

Their friends look at Sonic confidently. Sonic and Gwen smiles a little. Nine breaks down and hugs them. Sonic and Gwen smiles and hugs back.

"Now hurry. That Gateway won't be there forever." Nine said, sniffling.

Sonic and Gwen nods in agreement. Thorn hops onto Birdie's back.

"Need a ride?"

Birdie squawks. Sonic and Gwen walks forward, but collapses as they twitches and moans again, with Dread holding Sonic by the chest. And Shadow holding Gwen by an arm.

"Easy there, lad. I got you." Dread said.

"Let me give you a... hand."

Rusty picks up Sonic and Gwen and puts them onto Birdie's back.

"Well, my friends, I just wanna say..." Sonic started.

"You got no time for speeches, boyo." Dread interrupted.

"Fly!!! And know we'll be rooting for ya." Emeraldas added.

"Right." Sonic nodded.

"Take care of each other, okay?" Gwen said, looking back at them one last time.

"Hold tight, friends. Let's go, Birdie. Fly!" Thorn said.

Birdie then takes off.

"Goodbye, Sonic!" Dread said, waving.

"Goodbye, Gwen!" Emeraldas said, waving as well.

"Farewell!" Black Rose said, as she and Rusty Rose wave at them goodbye.

Shadow clears his throat at the Roses. They turn back.

"Oh, I suppose you need a ride too...?"

Shadow looks away. Cut to Sonic, Gwen, Thorn and Birdie, continuing their ascent.

"You got this, Birdie!" Thorn encouraged.

Birdie speeds up along the Void, dodging rocks by swerving, and corkscrewing. However, she squawks as she gets hit by a rock, hurting her wing.

"Birdie, your wing!" Thorn said, worried.

Birdie squawks as her hurt wing remains in position, descending.

"It doesn't look good." Sonic said, struggling.

"We're not gonna make it." Gwen said, worried.

Energy crackles, causing Sonic to grunt. Birdie falls.

"No!"

Below, the Yolkomotive catches the injured Birdie on the deck.

"Black Rose?" Sonic and Gwen said unison.

"Happy to lend a hand! Now hold on to your backsides. We're gonna pick up the pace!"

The Yolkomotive's thrusters ignite and the vehicle speeds up. It hits a rock, causing Black to grunt in anger. Another rock hits the front of the ship. Sonic and Gwen falls and collapses to the ground, with Thorn checking on them.

"Hurry! They're not gonna make it!" Thorn urged.

"I'm doing me best! But this bucket of bolts is barely holding together!" Black Rose said angrily.

"Keep it steady! I will clear a path!" Rusty Rose said, extending her arm and making her way to a turret.

She fires from the turret, shooting and clearing the rocks out of the way. Sonic groans as he twitches and Gwen moans in pain. The Yolkomotive is now see running with one thruster. Another rock hits that last thruster, causing the Yolkomotive to slow down.

"I'm losing speed!"

Shadow catches a rock and throws it away, then kicks another one. He looks around, determined. He then sighs and closes his eyes, while Black punches the deck in fury.

"Black Rose, you've brought us far enough. I'll take it from here." Shadow said.

Black Rose nods. Thorn helps Sonic and Gwen up again, while Shadow takes them forward. They hold their arms around each other as they slowly walk off. Black jumps onto the deck. Sonic and Gwen looks back at the miserable looking Roses.

"Goodbye, Roses." they said in unison.

Shadow carries Sonic off the Yolkomotive as they jump from rock to rock. Sonic twitches as they land on a big rock. Shadow speeds along the big rock's surface, with an aura glowing behind him.

"I never knew you were a hugger." Sonic said weakly, energy crackles, causing him to grunt.

"Do you want me to save you or not?" Shadow asked, deadpanning.

"Just hurry, fast!" Gwen said weakly, hurriedly.

Energy crackles, causing Sonic to grunt and Gwen moans in pain feeling her face being almost covered as Shadow speeds to the end of a rock and leaps off the end of it towards the gateway. The frame freezes and the camera rotates as Shadow lands his foot on another rock. He powers up and leaps again, carrying the incapacitated Sonic.

"Hang on!"

With a golden streak, Shadow tries to keep the momentum going as much as possible, and makes it through the gateway with Sonic and Gwen. As soon as they go in, the screen cuts to white with a breathtaking sound effect.
