Clarence notices that Derek missed his date

Clarence Hoffman appeared to be a normal College student. He had luscious black hair, which was usually swept messily to the side in the back, but neatly parted in the front. He wore rectangular black glasses over his beautiful, emerald-green eyes, and his skin was fair and soft. He wore a grey turtleneck sweater with a brown suit jacket over it, khaki pants, and black dress shoes. He has been told he's very handsome.

Despite his outwardly sophisticated and simple exterior, he has many stories to tell. He had a very troubled childhood, and he turned to reading as an escape from his less than favorable life. He loves books, and is even studying in university to become a librarian someday!

And yet, despite his academic nature, he is known by many for something much more... unsavory. He has been known to give sexual favors to anyone willing to pay a 5 dollar fee. He doesn't do it for money, he does it mainly because he enjoys doing it. Yes, this honors student, bookworm, aspiring librarian is what most people would call... A fucking slut.

Clarence arrived at the café. He was wearing his favorite outfit, he did his hair up all nice, and he smelled like Lavender. He sat in a seat at a table for two outside the café. He checked his phone. 11:06. Clarence laughed to himself. Classic Derek, late as usual. He was probably racing down the street right now. He'd arrive any second now.

Any second now.

Aaany second now.

15 minutes passed. Still no sign of Derek.

Clarence frowned. Derek was so excited for their date yesterday. What happened? Did he change his mind?

Clarence's mind started to race. Was he kidnapped? Is he dumping him? The thoughts came so fast he couldn't control them.

Clarence left his seat at the café. He has to stop worrying so much. He's probably just on a walk in the forest and lost track of time.

Clarence drove to the woods Derek likes to walk through. He parked his car, got out, and started trekking through the woods.

As he felt the twigs snap and leaves crunch beneath his feet, he took a deep breath in through his nose. He sighed in contentment as he exhaled. The air here was so fresh, the smell of pine filled the air, and the leaves sounded so nice beneath his feet. He hummed a little tune, almost forgetting why he was there.

Suddenly, he saw a strange light in the distance. He walked closer to investigate.

It was like the light had a pull of its own. Clarence couldn't stop walking towards it.

He saw something... He didn't even think was possible. In front of him, he saw a portal. Where too, he did not know. This must be what happened to Derek... He thought. He reached out towards the portal... And before he even touched it, he blacked out.

Clarence looked up from the ground. He had woken up on a beach of some kind. He spat the sand out of his mouth, and stood up, dusting himself off in displeasure. He hated sand (ironic, since he happend to live in Nevada.) He gawked at the scenery around him. It was vibrant, full of life.

Clarence looked down at his body. Was he always this... Lanky? Were his feet always this big? Were his hands always light grey? At least he kept his clothes. He didn't know what he'd do if his whole body was covered in sand!

Clarence ran a hand through his hair. It was still there, good. But... He felt the sides of his head. Just as he thought, his ears were gone. His hands slowly patted up his head. There they were. Two pointy ears. His head felt round.

He looked into the water. His reflection confirmed it all. Looking back at him... was an anthropomorphic cat. Clarence jumped back and screamed. "Oh my god! What happened to me?!"

Clarence laid in the sand, limbs sprawled out, and began to hyperventilate. Tears ran down his cheeks. "What am I gonna do!?" He repeated to himself.

He knew this feeling. He was about to have a panic attack. There was always one thing that could calm him down, but... He lost him. Clarence took deep breaths. He stood back up, running a hand through his silky hair.

"Okay. It's okay. It's cool. Just... Think rationaly. What can I do. What can I do... What... can I do?"

"Hey, you there!" Came a voice behind him. Clarence screamed and began to run. His feet sunk into the sandy surface, slowing him down. The person who called to him was catching up. Clarence turned to look at who it was. It was some kind of anthropomorphic chameleon. Clarence ran as fast as he possibly could, but the chameleon was faster. The chameleon tackled him, grabbing his shoulders and pinning him down.

Clarence thrashed and screamed as the chameleon pinned him to the ground. "Calm down!" He said.

"I know what you want from me, I'll give it to you, just please don't hurt me!" Clarence shouted.

The chameleon got off of him. "Okay then."

Clarence unclenched his eyes, and got a good look at what he was up against. Piercing, yellow eyes, violet skin, and a yellow horn. Clarence got on his knees, sighing. "Alright, let's get it over with." He said, crawling up to the chameleon's feet. "So, I'm assuming you want a blowjob? It's what people usually want from me..."

The chameleon looked down at him, confused. "I- what?" He said, blushing.

Clarence stood up. "Is... that not what you meant?" Clarence's face flushed. "I'm so sorry! I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions!"

The chameleon grimaced and grabbed Clarence's arm, dragging him with him.

Clarence walked with the chameleon, ashamed and embarrassed.

The chameleon tossed him on the ground in front of two other people, a crocodile and a bee.

"Vector, is this the guy we're looking for?" The chameleon asked. The crocodile shook his head.

"Nope, this isn't our guy. Let's keep searching." Vector answered. They all began to walk away.

"Wait!" Clarence exclaimed, "Please don't leave me here! I don't know where I am! I don't have anywhere to go! I..." They were already out of sight.

Clarence sighed and stood up, brushing himself off. He decided to follow the footprints left by the others.

He followed them to what appeared to be ancient ruins of some kind. Clarence gasped at the scenery. They didn't have anything like this in Reno...

Clarence walked through the ruins, gawking at the scenery around him. He suddenly heard soft crying coming from somewhere. He approached one of the arches.

His eyes settled on a teal little mouse boy. The boy whimpered and backed away from him when he tried to approach.

Clarence knelt down at a distance from the boy. "H-hey there... What're you doing in a place like this?" Clarence asked.

The little mouse boy took a second to answer. "...lost."

Clarence smiled. "That's great! Wait- I mean, of course it's not great, but- I'm lost too! Maybe we can find our way home together! My name is Clarence." Clarence said, reaching a hand out towards the child.

The mouse boy looked at Clarence's hand, and then back up to his friendly face. The boy smiled and took Clarence's hand.

"There we go! Now come on- I bet your family's worried about you!"

Clarence and the boy walked together through the ruins, coming to a grassy hill overlooking the ocean. "The view here is beautiful. Did you come to look at the scenery?" Clarence asked. The boy shook his head.

"Came here playing with friends. They left and didn't try to find me. I was left there and didn't know where to go." The boy said.

Clarence's heart sank. "I've had something similar happen to me once. My friend saw me... Get in a fight," Clarence lied, "and he wouldn't even look at me after that. He acted like he never even knew me." Clarence couldn't possibly tell the innocent child what actually happened to him. He didn't know what any of that meant.

"Oh... well that's not nice of him. I hope he apologized!" The boy said.

"Hey, you!" Came a familiar voice. Clarence looked up. It was the Crocodile he had met earlier, Vector, along with the chameleon and the bee.

The chameleon waltzed up to Clarence and yanked him away from the child, tossing him to the ground. Vector pinned him to the ground with his foot, knocking the wind out of him. Clarence whimpered in fear, beginning to cry.

"Please... Please, sir... I'll do anything you want..." He begged.

"Hey! Get off of him!" The little boy cried.

The chameleon held the boy by his shoulders. "It's okay, kid. We're here to take you home. That guy's not going to hurt you now."

Vector pushed his foot harder against Clarence's chest, making him grunt as more wind was knocked out of him. "What were you going to do with that boy?! Were you trying to have your way with him, freak?!" Vector interrogated.

"Wha- ew, no! No, no no!! I wouldn't dream of doing that!" Clarence shouted, appalled at the suggestion.

Vector only glared down at him.

"Listen, I am NOT a pedophile! And how do I know you guys aren't going to hurt him?!" Clarence said defensively.

The chameleon huffed. "Come on, guys. Let's get the kid home."

The child shook his head. "I'm not leaving without Clarence! He's lost too!"

Vector looked down at Clarence curiously.

"Yes, I am Clarence. I don't know how I got here, and I don't know where to go!" Clarence explained.

The three detectives huddled together, seemingly discussing what to do about the feline.

Clarence gasped, relieved to be free from the Crocodile's grasp. He put a hand on his chest as he practically gulped in the fresh, salty air.

Vector sighed as they separated. They seemed to have reached a compromise. Clarence flinched as Vector began walking toward him.

He shrieked as Vector picked him up and slung him over his shoulder. Clarence grumbled in displeasure. Oh well, at least it was better than being stepped on.
