Rouge paced some as she thought about who to fuse with, when she thought about someone that made her curious.

What if she fused with Sally Acorn?

While a strange thought, no one ever seems to think that their could be more than just getting to be princess.

Both of them were great at close quarters combat, which would make them a force to be reckoned with if they fused.

While Rouge has led Team Dark before, she wondered if her fused with Sally could help her handle being leader of the Freedom Fighters.

As extra bonus, Rouge would get to always have access to Nicole, an AI that's super powerful.

Rouge also knew Sally could get more from her too.

Rouge could give her the skills she has in stealth to make missions for the Freedom Fighters twice as easy.

But Rouge knew what the chipmunk really needed from her: her carefree personality

The princess was always stressed or self doubting at herself, blaming the failed missions on herself.

With Rouge's personality added to her own, she wouldn't be so worrisome and could focus better on the next mission.

Also, Rouge felt curious about being Sonic's childhood friend and crush. She always saw herself with Knuckles and Shadow, but never Big Blue himself.

Rouge's choice was final.

She flew out of the temple and towards Knothole to find Sally.

When she got there, she found Sally looking through some data with Nicole.

Sally looked over and smiled. "Hello Rouge. What brings you here?"

Rouge looked at her. "Not much, but I wanted to show you something in private. No one else needs to know about this."

Sally nodded and looked at Nicole. "Could you give us some privacy, Nicole?"

Nicole nodded. "Yes Sally."

Nicole disappeared as Sally walked up to Rouge.

Rouge pulled out the Shimmering Heart for Sally to see. "This what I wanted to talk with you about."

Sally stared at the gem with surprise. "Is that the Shimmering Heart Knuckles told me about?"

Rouge nodded. "Yes, but apparently it doesn't make people beautiful like they say it does."

Sally tilted her head. "Really? What does it do then?"

Rouge pointed at the gem. "It fuses two people into one to share their looks."

Sally looked at her confused. "Why would they do that?"

Rouge shrugged. "Apparently beauty needs to be shared in order to get more."

Sally nodded. "So who are you going to use it on."

Rouge smiled. "I wanted to know if you're interested."

Sally looked at Rouge confused. "Why me Rouge?"

Rouge shrugged. "I was kind of curious to see how it would turn out between us. Besides, we won't lose our talents and jobs."

Sally looked at the gem. "Are you wanting to do this just for a while."

Rouge put a hand behind herself. "No. The gem not only fuses our bodies, but also our memories and personalities. Time might change too to make our fusion part of life."

Sally looked at her. "So neither of us will exist after this."

Rouge nodded. "Kind of, but in a way, her being made from both of us means we'll live on."

Sally frowned. "What do you have to gain from fusing with me? Why not Amy or Blaze? Maybe even Bunnie or Breezie?"

Rouge put an arm around her. "You've got a lot of things about you that you forget about. For one, you're the smartest girl I know, and I could use a brain like that in my head."

Sally looked at her with raised eyebrow.

Her? Smart? She did admit she's good at accessing systems, but she doubt she had the smarts to rival those of Tails or Wave. Yet Rouge wanted her smarts?

Rouge smiled at her. "We're both leaders of our own teams, which I'm curious to see what happens when two leaders become one."

Sally did agree in her head that it seems like an interesting idea to see what their like as one leader. It would be cool to see how well the Freedom Fighters would do with Shadow and Omega on their side.

Rouge smirked seductively at her. "And if you have my looks and some of my personality, you'd be a total bombshell in Sonic's eyes."

Sally blushed at this and hid her face some. "Sonic? With me? That's something that'll never happen. Doesn't he have eyes for Amy?"

Rouge laughed. "Sonic runs from her everyday like it's a schedule. You, on the other hand, have been Sonic's friend since childhood. You know Sonic more than anyone except Tails. You've got more than enough of a chance to be with Sonic. And with me in the mix, he won't be able to keep his eyes off of you."

Sally took some time to think to herself.

She couldn't leave her responsibilities as princess behind for her own fun.

But she was feeling tempted to have Rouge unleash her seductive and care free side.

And she will admit that she missed being with Sonic as more than a friend.

Plus Rouge was offering to make victory for the Freedom Fighters better than the original timeline.

At least she'd still have her friends once this was over.

Sally looked at Rouge with a smile. "I'm ready to fuse with you."

Rouge smiled and nodded. "We're going to make a great leader together, as well as a perfect girlfriend for Sonic. You'll see."

Sally looked at the gem. "So how do we do it?"

Rouge shrugged. "I don't know, let's see if Nicole can help."

Sally called Nicole up.

She looked at Sally. "Yes Sally?"

Sally pointed at the gem. "Could you scan the gem to see how it works?"

Nicole nodded and scanned it. "It appears to react to the warm temperatures of living beings."

Rouge looked at Nicole. "So we just need to touch it and rub it?"

Nicole shook her head. "Yes and no. Yes, you do need to be touching it. But no, you that won't work alone."

Sally tilted her head. "What else do we need to do?"

Nicole pointed at the gem. "You need to find a way to make your bodies warmer so it will trigger it."

As Sally was thinking, Rouge stared at Sally some.

She then got an idea.

Rouge went in front of Sally and hugged her with the gem between their chests.

Sally blushed at this, followed by Rouge doing the same.

Two leaned forward as the light from the gem engulfed them.

The light covered Knothole while the two met in a make out session.

Their bodies squished into each other and merged.

Sally's clothes and Rouge's jumpsuit mixed to make a new combination.

Their minds began merging as the two couldn't tell who's memories were who's.

Sally saw all of Rouge's memories, but with her in Rouge's place.

Stealing jewels from various places.

Teasing Knuckles on Angel Island.

Going on missions with Shadow.

Sally loved her new personality.

Rouge also saw all of Sally's memories, but with herself in her place.

Meeting Sonic for the first time.

Leading the Freedom Fighters.

Being there for a young Tails.

Rouge also fell in love with Sonic during all the memories.

The light covered all of the area, before fading to reveal the new person Rouge and Sally made.

She looked herself over before turning Nicole off for the night.

She walked out and flew into the air, smirking to herself. "You ready Sonic~? Because your real princess is here to stay with you~"
