She looked back at the forest.The frown on her face prominent .Her profile to me.I saw her lips moving.Was she talking to herself?Then she turned back to forest once again.Pointing the way she came from.She backtracked her steps to the spot and stopped, seeming lost in thoughts.I was pretty sure about what was going on in that devilish head.Her strange behavior attested to that.She was trying to find the rod she had left behind yesterday in her haste.As it is she has was a bit unhinged from the very beginning.

I watched her with interest.My gaze not leaving her or her peculiar conduct.

"Xaki.." Yuri said softly.I turned to her very reluctantly,not willing to miss a single moment of the hellion's adventures.

Yuri came towards me with nothing but a sheet tightly wrapped around her .I welcomed her in my arms.She smiled and snuggled close to me.I nuzzled her head and let her enjoy the closeness.My gaze again riveting back to the funny girl below.

After several peaceful moments,Yuri sighed and pulled back,looking up at me."Xaki.." I glanced back at her quiet tone.She seemed troubled by something.My attention now attuned to the sadness I detected in her stance.My eyes roamed over her face,trying to find the cause of her distress.

"Yuri,what is it?" I asked concerned,not liking the pained look on her face."Did I hurt you earlier?" I am always very careful when it comes to her.But if I did manage to hurt her ,I won't be able to forgive myself.

She shook her head fast."No,it's not that.You know how much I like being with you.It's just that.." she stopped again and looked at me intently.I relaxed my features and smiled,prompting her to go on. "Tomorrow is the day of the ball.You are  going to  the main palace.I heard that the King wants you to choose a bride .He already has a number of them lined for you tomorrow.I just..I.." she stuttered unable to bring forth her thoughts.I understood without her saying the actual words.Her feelings for me were like a balm to my troubled soul.

I chuckled as she looked up at me astonished.Silly girl. "You are worried about that." I pinched her nose as she swatted my hand away form her face.I grinned as she growled in annoyance."You are so cute sometimes." She huffed as I kissed her nose lightly.

She gripped my wrists as I cupped her face,leaning it to my hands,looking back at me so softly. "My father loves to make a big show out of things.He likes making spectacle of his power over others.He has been arranging these meetings since I was 12.And the only purpose they served was for my father to show his dominance and sooth his ego.He likes inviting the royals to make a mockery of them.He is  a sadistic bastard who glorifies himself by looking down on others.And that barren bitch by his side enjoys and relishes from  this obsession of his.She loves the attention she gets during these balls.The authority of being in such a position arouses her and we both know where she takes care of those needs. Because dear father won't touch her with a ten feet pole but will have no qualms in bedding each of his guest,male/female willingly." I laughed humorlessly  and continued."They don't give a fuck about me.You know it as well as I do.So don't worry your little head over this farce ."

Yuri looked down thoughtfully and muttered ."But still what if you find someone there."  With more vigor than before she added glacially .  " And I know how they'll be throwing their daughters at you , despite cursing your very existence. Just because they want to be related to the King.Everyone knows you'll be taking over the Anthea kingdom one day.No matter what Andromeda says." 

I contemplated her words.Yes, they will indeed show their true nature.But this isn't something I wanted to waste my time thinking about. They can show me their true self all they want.They didn't matter.Their very existence was of no effect to me except maybe satisfying my libido.Yuri mattered. "Don't you trust me?" I asked her gently, looking straight in her eyes so that she could see for herself what she meant to me.

She nodded her head ferociously."I trust you with all my being." I grinned at her enthusiasm,kissing her lips softly once more,just because.

"Then let me worry over them." I said in finality.

"I want to come with you,Xaki. Please take me with you.We can announce our relation and then there will no more talks of this marriage.Please,, ." I knew she wanted to argue more but I silenced her with a finger on her lips.

I  looked fixedly at her.She knew my answer already. We've had this discussion a number of times.She knew I didn't want her anywhere near Andromeda.That bitch can come up with very vile things to torment me and if she knew what Yuri's existence meant for me.She would come for her, just to prove to me she could.She'll know Yuri is my weakness and she'll use all her power to weaken me with her.I couldn't let that happen.I couldn't give her that opportunity.Yuri was pure and innocent in all of this.I never wanted to embroil her in my Hell.And knowing that barren piece of shit ,she'll rain down the worst fires from the depths of Hell on Yuri.

I'd die rather than let that happen.Yuri is the only good thing in my life and to lose her would be to lose the last shred of humanity in me.

Yuri sighed in defeat when she knew I won't budge on this. She leaned closer and put her head on my chest."But still you can not let your father win like this." 

Now that's something I had no intention of doing.Oh, dear father will have a big surprise this time around.I chuckled just thinking about it.He'll shit his throne.

My gaze again went down the patio.

"What's so funny?" Yuri asked as my chest vibrated with my laughter.She jerked back from me and followed my gaze down to the hellion who was busy  assaulting a girl.I let go of Yuri and brought both my arms on the banister and leaned down on them.

"Isn't that Nastur's daughter.What is she doing?" Yuri gasped from beside me.I ignored her , enjoying the scene below too much to care responding back.

Gone was the hellion's worry and in place was rage towards her opponent.She had successfully subdued the other girl.I recognized her from before.The hellion was currently twisting the poor girl's arms behind her back cruelly,muttering something close to her ear.The poor girl looked scared to death.The girl nodded.The hellion immediately let go of her and pointed to the forest.She then spread her hands,both palms facing each other and stopped when she reached the desired distance between them.The poor girl listened attentively,close to tears.Then she curled the fingers of one hand loosely as if holding a wooden ro..

My eyes widened.I grinned shaking my head,unbelievable.The hellion was sending the poor girl in the forest to search for her rod.

"Shouldn't you punish her for such behavior?" Yuri asked in a tight voice.

"Yeah,I guess I should do that." I said astonished.Admiring her extortion skills.Seeing her with new eyes.

She's perfect.

Maybe that is why ,I missed the way Yuri's breath hitched or the way she glared down at the hellion with an evil glint.I didn't know the extent of darkness she hid behind her beautiful face.Only if I had witnessed it, before everything went down.
