Hey guys. So I know it's been a while since I posted a songfic, so I wanted to do another one. I haven't been writing much lately, so I'm hoping this will be ok.

So this will take place a little bit after Naruto and Sasuke fight at the valley of the end and before Naruto starts his 2 year journey with the Pervy Sage. So that's where this falls.

Summary: Sasuke has done something unforgivable, and the village has exiled him for it.

Sasuke looked down and saw what he had done. Blue eyes that once shown so brightly, now dull and lifeless. The huge toothy grin that he had always remembered being on the boy's face, the smile that always seemed to make any situation better, gone, never to be seen again. It was all gone.

Sasuke slowly stood up and backed away from the boy, eyes wide. "What have I done?" he asked himself. "Naruto." He fell to his knees, slamming his fists down on the hard surface. "I'm sorry. I..."

He looked up and stared at his best friend. A friend that he never asked for, but cherished in a way he never really understood himself. He half expected the boy to sit up, give him one of his famous Naruto smiles and tell him that it didn't matter, that everything was going to be ok, but the boy's body never moved. "Why?" Sasuke asked the unmoving figure. "Why did you have to come after me? Why couldn't you just let me go?"

He looked away from the boy and saw a small puddle next to him. He stared at the reflection and saw the two cuts that Naruto had given him, starting at the corners of his eyes closest to his nose and running down towards his cheeks. His eyes went wide as he suddenly saw another figure taking his reflection's place. Itachi.

Sasuke slammed his hand across the water and closed his eyes as he turned his head. 'No, I didn't want to be like him. I didn't want this to happen.'

He looked up at Naruto's body one more time before he stood up, walked over to the boy's body, and picked it up. Naruto's body was limp in Sasuke's arms, his cold, dead eyes boring into Sasuke's, making him look away. He knew what he had to do. He had to take Naruto's body back to the village that he loved.

He looked forward, trying hard not to look at his friend in his arms, and made his way quickly to the village.

NNNNNNNNNNN

"How could that idiot just run off?" Shikamaru asked no one in particular. He was standing at the front gate with Choji, Neji, Rock Lee, Shino, Kiba and Akamaru, Ino, and Sakura getting ready to leave to go and bring Naruto back.

After Naruto had overheard someone saying that Sasuke was in the area, Naruto immediately went to go find him so he could bring Sasuke back to the village. Soon after Tsunade heard this, she summoned Shikamaru and the others to go and bring him back before the situation got worse.

"Troublesome idiot," Shikamaru said. "Alright, let's go." With that everyone started to head out, but immediately stopped when they sensed someone coming toward them. "Get ready," he shouted.

Everyone was in a battle ready stance when Sasuke walked out of the tree line.

"Sasuke!" Sakura shouted surprised when she saw the boy.

Shikamaru stood up straighter and narrowed his eyes when he saw Naruto in Sasuke's arms. He only sensed Sasuke's chakra, which wasn't a good sign. "What have you done?"

Sasuke couldn't make eye contact with anyone. He took a few more steps before he stopped and laid Naruto's body on the ground. "I..."

Sasuke suddenly found himself pinned down on the ground by two people. When he looked up he saw Choji and Kiba.

"Is he alright?" Kiba asked looking at Naruto.

Sakura and Ino ran up to Naruto's body, and Sakura placed two fingers on his neck waiting for a pulse. Her eyes went wide and she covered her mouth with her hand. She then looked at Sasuke, who still couldn't look at her. "He's dead."

Everyone's eyes went wide. "What?" Rock Lee asked.

Sakura closed her eyes. "There's no pulse, and he's not breathing."

Shikamaru stared at Naruto's unmoving body and noticed that Naruto's eyes were still open. He slowly walked over, knelt down, and closed Naruto's eyes with one hand. "Let's get them both to Lady Tsunade," he said.

Rock Lee and Shino carefully picked Naruto's body up, Rock Lee at Naruto's head, and Shino carrying his feet, while Choji and Kiba picked Sasuke up off the ground and kept a firm grip on Sasuke's arms as they pulled him along.

As they walked down the street, citizens started to come out of their homes and businesses to see what was going on.

"It's Sasuke."

"What's he doing here?"

"Is that Naruto?"

"Is he dead?"

"Did that Uchiha jerk kill him?"

"Look at those scares on his face."

"He looks just like Itachi."

When they got to the Hokage's tower, Shikamaru led the small procession up the stairs and to the Hokage's office. He knocked twice before opening the door and walking in.

"Shikamaru," Tsunade said, "what are you doing here? You're supposed to be..." Her eyes went wide when she saw Rock Lee and Shino carry Naruto's body in the room. She rushed over to the boy and used her medical ninjutsu to examine him, but she sighed when she felt no life left in him. "Who did this?"

"Him," Kiba said as he and Choji pulled Sasuke into the room.

Tsunade glared at the Uchiha. "Sasuke Uchiha, for your actions you should be put to death." She watched as the Uchiha boy looked down sadly, as if he was in pain.

"My lady, please," Sakura cried out and took a step toward her, but Ino grabbed her shoulder. When Sakura looked back at her, Ino shook her head. Sakura put her head down sadly.

"However," Tsunade continued, "I think a more fitting punishment should be to let you live with your actions."

Sasuke looked up and finally met Tsunade eye to eye. "Please, I ask your forgiveness," he said quietly.

"You don't belong here!" Tsunade shouted. "You will be exiled from this village." She walked up so she was inches from her face. "And if you ever show your face around here again, you will be killed."

Sasuke's eyes went wide at the sudden proximity of the Hokage's face to his own, but lowered her head.

"Get him out of here," Tsunade said and turned around and went to Naruto's body.

Kiba and Choji pulled Sasuke through the door, and Shikamaru, Rock Lee, Shino, Ino, and Sakura all followed. When they stepped out the door, they saw that a large crowd had gathered. They were shouting and some even threw a few rocks at the Uchiha.

Kiba and Choji continued to pull Sasuke down the road, ignoring that the boy was being hit by several rocks and insults.

"He's a disgrace."

"What an outrage."

"Who does that outsider think he is."

Sasuke kept his eyes on the ground as he marched toward the village gate. He only looked up when he saw Kakashi in the crowd. He stopped.

"Why did you let your grief and hate get the better of you," Kakashi said shaking his head. "I guess you couldn't run from your fate after all. You turned out just like him."

Sasuke turned his head in shame as Kiba and Choji pushed him forward again.

He kept his eyes closed, but herd someone else speak. "We'll never forget what you did here." He recognized that voice as the older girl that hung out with that Hyuga.

"He's not one of us that care about people."

"He was never one of us."

"An Uchiha did this before, so we should've figured he'd do it again."

They finally made it to the front gate and everyone but Kiba, Choji, and Sasuke stopped. They watched as the three went further down the road. Sakura, desperate to continue watching Sasuke, jumped up to the top of the wall. "Sasuke."

Ino joined her and placed a hand on Sakura's shoulder. "Sakura..."

Sakura shook her head. "Don't." She watched as Kiba and Choji threw Sasuke on the ground then turn and walk back to the village. She saw Sasuke slowly get up and look back at the village then up at her. Her heart broke.

She turned away from him. "He is not one of us," she said as tears started streaming down her face.
