He was only supposed to babysit her in that one chapter near the beginning and then I was like.

He didn't really have any "action scenes," so when it came for him to have one (whoever he meets Lauren after she got Stung) I was like,
"he wouldn't immediately jump in to help in the midst of the action, so like, he should be like 'woah, what's up.' "
