Beginning Notes:

Sonamy. The #1 Ship in the Sonic the hedgehog fandom. Of course it does have it's Rivals, Sonadow and Sonally. But let's not talk about those ships. Let's talk about Sonamy.

(1) The characters.

Amy Rose debuted in Sonic CD in 1993. (Imo cd isn't really that good of game lol—) When she met Sonic, she was immediately infatuated with him. All Sonic did was save her at the end and run off, showing he really didn't have an opinion on the pink hedgehog. At the time of course.

(2) How they feel about each other canonically.

Through the games and television shows, Amy's become one of his three best friends. They've had some chemistry with each other. In some media, they're direct love interests for each other.

In Sonic Boom, Sonic's shown to have hidden feelings for her. Amy's also shown to have those same feelings as well.

In Sonic X (Tbh, I don't really like Sonic X and I forced myself to watch it, do forgive me if I might get a detail wrong.) , Again, Sonic's had some hidden feelings for her as well, but usually, he displays he cares for her as he does for his other friends. Amy this time is way more vocal about her feelings towards him. Sometimes even being possessive. She's very passionate, and Sonic is one of her passions.

In the Sonic games, it differs. Sega hasn't really been good with writing, so the characters have shifted alot. Amy of course still loves Sonic, and Sonic does really care for her. In different games she can be possessive, fangirlish, and Sonic may even overreact sometimes. Other times, Amy isn't badly written. It really just depends.

(3) My personal opinion. Pretty self explanatory.

I really like this Ship. At times, Amy may be dramatic, possessive, fangirlish, yes I know that. But I believe that isn't her true character.

Amy Rose is a very passionate girl, one of her passions being Sonic. So I do believe at times she might go a little crazy for him. But not full on "hE's mInE gEt aWaY fRom hiM befoRE I bReAk YOUr bONeS¡!¡!". That's the result of bad writing. She's willing to fight for him, but dang that's pretty hardcore.

I know Sonic cares for her and has some feelings for her deep down (I can confidently say this because Sonamy is borderline canon,), but he's a teenaged boy with a crush what do you expect— Sonic may be annoyed with Amy's attempts to smother him at times, but that doesn't mean he hates her. All he would have to do is tell her that that might make him feel comfortable, and she'll be cool and tone it down. His feelings for her aren't the first thing on his mind, so having moments where he would address them would be rare.

I feel as if Sonic would just dance around the subject whenever it's brought up. But one day, whenever he's ready, state his true feelings. But today won't be the day.

Besides the ship though, I really do enjoy these two's friendship. :)

(4) How it could work. This is well is a personal opinion.

I've seen a few people say; "If Amy and Sonic were together, Amy would want to settle down. Sonic doesn't like to be held down like that, it just wouldn't work."

Yes, I can agree that Amy would like to settle down, but allow me to explain.

Amy knows how Sonic is. She knows he runs wherever the wind takes him. Being held down is something he doesn't appreciate. And that's okay, it's all the more reason she loves him as she's stated. Amy has followed Sonic from world to world. She's willing to follow him to the ends of time, just to be by his side. For him, she'd compromise everything. She loves him because he's him. Even if they never got together, they would still be there for each other.

Sonic and Amy really ballance each other out. I feel like Sonic would encourage her to be a little more adventurous. His upbeat spirit really does help everyone around him. He's got a very positive attitude. Amy on the other hand could encourage him to take it slow at times. They both might not understand each other's reasons for things, but in the end they see things from a different perspective. They learnt something new.

If Amy decided to not follow him and stay with their friends, I know they'd still be very close. Being together, he would visit often if he was ever gone for a while. He'd always have someone to look forward to when coming home from a long adventure.

Sonic and Amy would have an unbreakable bond. Together, they mean the world to each other.

In conclusion;

If Sonic and Amy didn't get together, or if they did, one thing would never change,

They'd always have a life long companion. 💖💙

That's basically all I have to say about this ship atm. Maybe I'll edit it later, I don't know. But I really love this ship. :)
