Chapter Ten

Lincoln was walking around the church waiting for his mother's return. As he did so, his thoughts went straight to his other siblings...mostly Leni. He knew that there was a high chance that his siblings manipulated her against him. It wasn't that hard to do after all since she wasn't bright and was very naive. She would probably be the only one that could get redemption while the others will continue to lie about everything while trying to search for him.

Sigh. They were never going to admit the truth and would continue their lives. Part of him felt bad for anyone that they would be in contact with since his former family would continue to lie to them no matter what. Not to mention...Bobby. He was an older sibling figure to him and knowing that his sister would continue to lead him around without a second thought...made his blood boil.

"How dare she do that to him." He said to himself. He hated that she was constantly lying to Bobby and his family. They didn't deserve to be treated like this and the feelings of revenge filled him. However, he had to be smart. He needed to stay in the shadows and get inside their heads. Before he could continue these thoughts, his mother returned.

Lincoln, I have a surprise for you.

Lincoln was about to ask his mother what the surprise was when he saw her...Ronnie Anne.

"Ronnie Anne?" He asked with a surprised expression.

"Surprise Lame-o. Your mother was kind enough to tell me what was going on with you and the rest of your former family." Ronnie Anne said.

It was the least that I could do since she was worried about you.

"But how could you do that if Bobby was in the house?" Lincoln asked.

Well, Bobby was distracted once he was informed of a mysterious attack on his girlfriend.

"D..Did you hurt her?" Lincoln asked.

I won't lie to you...I did.

"Good." Lincoln said which surprised both Ronnie Anne and Valak. They had expected him to try to claim that they didn't deserve to be harmed, but instead he encouraged it.

"Why aren't you trying to defend them?" Ronnie Anne said.

"I would, but none of them except Leni deserve it. Think about it, why would I defend them if they would only do the same thing again some other time? They never learn and are probably trying to cover up what they did instead of facing the consequences." Lincoln said.

That makes sense, but why are you not getting mad at Leni?

"Leni has a sweet personality, but isn't very bright. It wouldn't take much to lie to her and get her on your side. However, I have a feeling like this isn't the case at all." Lincoln said.

"Why would you say that?" Ronnie Anne said.

"Leni has moments of having a higher IQ, but then...becomes like her old self after drinking one of her smoothies. So either her moments of IQ are just pure luck or....a certain scientist has been asked to make some type of drug to dumb her down so she won't disturb their so called family dynamic." Lincoln said.

Figures. I will see if I get your sister once she is alone since the Louds will probably be on high alert due to the attack.

Lincoln nodded and offered to give Ronnie Anne a tour of the church. As she agreed, Leni sneezed and wondered if she was catching something. It was almost her turn to see Lori after all and she didn't want her to sister to get sick. Especially with those injuries that she has.

"Are you okay Leni?" She heard Lynn ask.

"Yeah...I just had to sneeze." Leni said. Lynn nodded to that and went back to talking with the others. She didn't want to tell her that she felt like someone was talking about her, but who? Shaking her head, she got ready to see Lori...unaware that in a couple of days her faith in her family would be shaken to the core.

Hope you enjoyed the chapter...Bye 👋
