We finally set down near some kind of military base. "Okay everyone. We're gonna do this the way Nick wants. Nick?", Cyclops said. "Thanks. So we have to get past his cronies , but leave Slade for ME. Any questions, concerns, or requests? No? Good. Let's go!" We all storm the base as a swarm of goons run out. I pull out my batons and Nightcrawler and I teleport to meet them. One swings at me. I duck and swing my baton at his leg, crippling him. I roundhouse kick him the jaw. Several more are running this way. I pull out a grenade and toss it behind them, not close enough to kill them, but close enough to knock them out. I'm not Dad. I can't kill, without feeling like I'm evil. Besides I don't think Kitty would date me if I was a villain. I see three coming. I pull out my pistols. I fire three bullets. I don't shoot to kill only to wound. The bullets pass cleanly through their shoulders. More guards run towards me carrying rifles. Seriously, how many goons does he have? They raise their guns, ready to fire. Mom if I really do have your powers, please let them work now. They pull the triggers and the guns blow up in their faces, knocking them onto their backs. I see Rouge suck the energy out of one and grab a gun and start to fire at the guards. Jean and Cyclops going to work. Jean picks up a group with her telekinesis and Scott blasts them out of the air. Storm is conducting electricity through their armor. Nightcrawler swings from one to the next knocking them out as he goes. But the most impressive is Logan. He pounces from one to the next digging his claws in deep everytime.  I don't see Shadowcat anywhere. But she must be around here somewhere. I see the others doing damage to, Colossus, Negasonic, Iceman, among others. Once we clear the area we walk into the base. I feel like something's missing but I don't know what. "Slade? I'm home!" I see Slade's face pop up on a projector. He's wearing an eye patch. This gives me a dark satisfaction. "Nick. Nice suit. Too bad it'll be stained with your blood in a few minutes. And you might want to hurry. I hate waiting." "Oh, don't worry we'll be there in a sec." "Oh, I forgot to mention, you can only bring one companion with you." "I'll go with the kid", Logan says. "Wonderful! Two seemingly unkillable mutants. I'm going to enjoy this!" "C'mon Logan." I put my hand on his shoulder and teleport us to Slade. We teleport in a few feet from Slade. "Welcome! As you can see the stakes are higher than you think." "What're you talking about Slade?", Logan snarls. " Such hostility. I like it! Anyway he-" he points at me. "-took my eye, so I took one of your teammates. An eye for an eye. Can you guess which one?" It suddenly dawned on me. "Shadowcat?!", I yell. He moves to the side to reveal Shadowcat, unconscious, tied up and bruised. "Yep and if you lose, she dies, you win, I'll come with you as your prisoner, unless Nick's going to kill me?" "Enough talk Slade." "That's more like it!" We charge at each other, blades drawn.

Final showdown! Anyone excited and nervous, or is it just me? I can't wait until the next chapter!
