Growing up Athena hated that her father worked as an FBI agent because it caused him to be away quite a bit which normally meant he missed major moment in her life. But somehow after graduating high school early and at the top of her class and then applying herself further into school achieving many PhDs and degrees in aspects involving human nature and their minds she realized that she wanted to follow in her father's footsteps and join the BAU.

Athena would tell anyone that going into this line of work was one of the best decisions she made because it brought her much closer to her father and made her realize why he did this work.
