[Sixty-three]
"And what does our grandson look like?" Jung-kook asked. "Taemin, is it? Does he resemble you......or your wife?"
Taehyung laughed. "I'm not sure if my partner would appreciate you referring to him as my wife! He insists he wears the pants in the house. But I just let him think that."
"Him?" Jung-kook repeated as if he heard wrong. "As in you're...."
"Yes, I am gay," Taehyung nodded. "Don't tell me you are prejudiced."
"No, no. I didn't mean that," Jung-kook corrected. "I... I'm surprised, that's all."
"For some reason, I assumed your daughter would've told you."
"No, no. She did not," Jung-kook confessed, not knowing why he suddenly felt a tinge of sadness after hearing Taehyung married a man.
Taehyung spoke as he misinterpreted Jung-kook's frown. "I hope that doesn't make you uncomfortable. Having three men as Taemin's grandparents. Eun-hye told me you've been separated from your wife since she was a child."
"Yes, yes. That's right."
Taehyung glanced at the person whose eyes were cast on the floor. "Have you ever thought of getting married again?"
"Wha.... what?" Jung-kook questioned as he lifted his head.
"I asked if you have found someone after Eun-hye's mother? You know, just because you failed at marriage once doesn't mean you will fail again."
"Ah, no. I'm too old for that," Jung-kook said wistfully.
Taehyung slapped his knee as he laughed. "Nobody's too old to find love. You can find it anywhere if you open your eyes wide enough."
I had it once, but I lost it, was what Jung-kook wanted to say. But looking at Taehyung, he held back, so he cracked a lame joke instead.
"Why? Do you have somebody in mind?"
"Haha! If you're serious, why don't you give me a list of your preferences and I'll go find one for you?"
Jung-kook couldn't tell if Taehyung was jesting. "So you... you'll do that?"
"Sure, why not?" Taehyung replied. "Anything for a friend."
