[Nine]

Not one to back down from a fight, as this would be their first, Taehyung retorted, "Excuse me, you make it sound like I do not have friends when it's you who need them. I hang out with some guys in the village so I'm good."

Jung-kook crossed his black orbs and looked at Taehyung. "Well, I think you're lying. In fact, don't they call you Waegukin whenever you go into town, and that's also why you spend your time here talking to chickens?"

Wait, what? Taehyung questioned in disbelief, almost forgetting that he too was no older than the young master.

"And how would you know that?" Taehyung demanded. "Didn't you just tell me not to trust everything that people say about you?" His voice trailed in a last-minute attempt on having the upper hand in this conversation.

Jung-kook snapped, "It doesn't matter how I find out these things."

Taehyung scrunched his eyes and pointed an accusing finger at Jung-kook. "Were you spying on me?"

"No! And it's not against the law," Jung-kook proclaimed. "Knowing your business is our family business. We don't want our workers to be involved in inappropriate behaviour."

"You can't tell us what to do in our own time," Taehyung snapped. "And there should be a rule against spying!"

Jung-kook shot the light-tanned boy a haughty look, "Well, too bad, there isn't..... and besides, my mother is the head of the town council and she'll make sure that will never happen."

"Oh, I see how it is," Taehyung's tone dripped with ice. "Then I guess you can forget us becoming friends. Have a good day, young master."
