Sweet Pea

Narrator's POV

Tony sat across from Stephen, who was staring out of his window with his plant still in his lap.

Come on Stark. Think of something to say.

Tony thought with a hand under his chin.

An idea popped into his head.

"Are those white impatiens?" Tony asked.

"Hm?" Stephen raised a brow at him.

"The plant." Tony asked.

"No. It's a daisy." Stephen said.

"Oh." Tony said. "Right. They're your favorite plant...right?"

Stephen was a little surprised that Tony had remembered. "Yes...they are."

"Hm." Tony chuckled. "I remember I used to think lavender was your favorite because you used to have it all over the place, but then I asked you, and you said daisies."

Stephen smiled. "Yes. I remember that."

"Because they're nice and simple." Tony said.

Stephen gave him a small nod.

"If you don't mind. Why Randy?" Tony asked.

Stephen looked down at Randy Jr. "Because he said fuck toxic masculinity." Stephen said.

"Oh." Tony said.

"Anyway." Stephen said. "You never told me where we were going."

"Oh, we're going to Hawaii."

"Hawaii." Stephen nodded.

"Yeah." Tony said.

Stephen didn't say anything and turned to the window again.

"We should be there in a few hours." Tony said.

Stephen kept staring out the window.

"Mr. Stark, would you like some champagne?" The flight attendant asked as she walked up upon the men.

"Don't mind if I do." Tony said. He looked up at Stephen. "Would you like some Stephen?"

"No, thank you." Stephen smiled at the flight attendant. "But I would like a glass of water."

"I'll be right back with it." The attendant said.

Tony raised a brow at Stephen.

The flight attendant came back a few minutes later.

"Here you go." She smiled at Stephen.

"Thank you." Stephen thanked her.

"My pleasure." She walked away.

Stephen looked down at Randy Jr. and poured the water into the plant pot.

"Hey, you wanna hear a joke?" Tony asked out of the blue.

"No." Stephen answered.

"Yeah you do. Here it goes..."

"Enjoy your vacation." The flight attendant waved at Stephen and Tony as the two got off the plane. "Ms. Potts said we would come back for you in a week."

"Earlier if possible." Stephen said.

"He's just kidding." Tony said. "He's kidding. You have a safe flight back."

The flight attendant smiled.

Soon, the jet was gone, and Tony and Stephen were standing alone at the end of a dock connecting to the wonderful island.

"Aloha friends." A man wearing a red and white flowered piupiu. He had a wonderful smile on his face.

Two women came up behind him carrying garlands. They placed them around Stephen's and Tony's heads. The women put flower crowns on the men's heads, smiling and walking away.

"Yeah." Tony said. "Thank you for welcoming us." He removed his flower crown. He looked over at Stephen, who was looking around for somewhere to set his stuff down and remove his crown.

The flower crown had slightly slanted over his head, making him seem clumsy and cute, in Tony's eyes anyway.

"Let me guide you to where you will be staying." The man said.

Stephen eventually gave up and followed the man, along with Tony.

The two looked around, watching as other tourists walked along the beautiful beaches. Some people were in the water, others were surfing.

Stephen couldn't get over the beauty of the mountains ahead of them.

Their resort wasn't far from where they stood now.

Even though they were coming up behind the resort, it looked beautiful and expensive.

There was a beauty rainforest around their resort.

Stephen turned at the sound of someone playing the ukulele. He looked over to see a man playing the ukulele, signing in the native language with children around him. He smiled.

"Does your friend need some more time?" The guide asked.

"Hm?" Stephen looked beside him.

Tony wasn't there.

He looked behind him to see Tony a few yards away, talking to himself with his funky looking shades on.

"Sorry." Stephen apologized.

"It's no hurry." The guide said.

"Yes. And please tell Pepper to write anything down that might be useful and send it to me."

Anything else, sir?

"Mm..." Tony thought.

"Tony." Stephen's voice tang in his ears.

Tony's looked away from the screens in his shades and focused on Stephen. "Jarvis, look up how to attract a wizard."

I'm sorry sir, what was-

"Hurry up." Stephen said.

"You can't rush perfection." Tony said.

"I'm not rushing perfection. I'm rushing you." Stephen said.

"Oh, man. He's good, feisty." Tony said. "Just like I like them." He said under his breath. "Never mind Jarvis. You can go."

Yes sir

Jarvis signed out.

Tony proceeded forward to Stephen and their guide. "Sorry about that." He said.

"No need to apologize." The guide said, smiling.

Soon, the three were in the resort, on the very top floor.

This floor was more expensive than all the others. It had special features. You could say they were considered first class.

The walls were soundproof to keep everyone at their own peace, and they had the best and most beautiful view in the whole building. They were also larger than the rest.

"Here you are. Room 401 and 402." The guide said, handing them each a card. "The number to the lobby is next to the phone if you ever need anything."

"Thank you." Stephen said.

"E hau'oli." The guide said before walking away.

Tony watched him walk away. "What a nice man." He said. "Anyway, Stephen. I was wondering if-"

-slam-

Stephen had gone into his room.

"Okay, cool." Tony said. "I'll be next door if you need anything." He said, opening the door to his room and settling in.

>knock< >knock<

Stephen sat up from his bed, wondering who that could've been knocking at his door.

It wasn't that late, but he still liked going to bed early.

9:34 pm

He put on his sliders and walked over to the door, peeking through the peep hole in the door.

He sighed once he saw who it was. He opened the door. "What do you want?"

"Listen, Stephen." Tony said. "I know you and I started out a little rough..." He said, rubbing the back of his neck.

Stephen raised a brow.

"I came to apologize." Tony said.

"Go on." Stephen said.

Tony looked up at him. "Oh, uh...that was it. That was the apology."

"Okaaaayyyy..." Stephen slowly closed the door.

"Wait-"

-click-

Stephen closed the door.

Then many more clicks came after.

Stephen has secured the door.

Tony sighed and walked back to his room.

Stephen sighed, walking over to his bed and settling in it. "Hah." He sighed in relief, closing his tired eyes.

Finally, time to rest.

~Ring~

Stephen's eyes sprung open when he heard the phone on the nightstand beside him ring. He reached for it and picked it up. "Hello?" He asked.

"Hi Stephen~" Tony's voice came from the other end.

"Urgh..." Stephen groaned and hung up. "Hah." He sighed and laid back down.

~Ring~

"Hello?"

"Stephen-"

Stephen hung up again.

~Ri-

Stephen unplugged the phone from the wall. "Hah." He sighed and happily closed his tired eyes.
