Lightning Strikes the Heart
Narrator's POV
"What are you doing?" Stephen asked Tony, who was digging in his luggage.
"I've got a surprise." Tony said, digging in his clothes.
Stephen raised a brow as he watched Tony dig through his clothes like a dog looking a bone.
"Haha!" Tony said, taking two pieces of paper out. "Gotcha."
"Got what?" Stephen asked.
"Tickets. Two tickets in fact." Tony said.
"Tickets for what?"
"A music festival." Tony said. "This week there's a music festival, and I wanted to take you." Tony said. "I've been to it a few times. It's very fun, and I just thought maybe you'd like to go. You know, experience something new."
"What happened to dying?" Stephen asked.
"You." Tony said.
"Hm?" Stephen looked up at him.
"Eucalyptus trees! I really like eucalyptus trees." Tony said. "Yup, they're very nice. I'm gonna take a quick shower."
"Okay." Stephen said, looking back at his book, a smile forming on his lips. "Eucalyptus." Stephen heard a familiar song playing in the radio while Tony was in there.
I'm singin' in the rain
Just singin' in the rain
What a glorious feeling
I'm happy again
Stephen smiled, humming to the tune. "I'm laughin' at clouds. So dark up above. The sun's in my heart, and I'm ready for love." Stephen sang.

"How long does this festival go on for?" Stephen asked. "I don't want to stay out too late."
"Still not a night owl, huh?" Tony asked, pressing the lobby button in the elevator.
"And still wanting to be the button pusher, hm?" Stephen said.
"Touché." Tony said. "And it goes on all night, but we don't have to stay up all night if you don't want to."
"Well, maybe a little late, but not too late." Stephen said.
"Sounds like a plan." Tony said, letting Tony get off the elevator first. "After you."
"Thank you." Stephen stepped out and waited for Tony.
"Going to the festival?" Asked the man behind the front desk.
"You bet." Tony said. "He's never been." Tony referred to Stephen.
"Oh, it's a wonderful thing." The man said. "Something to truly experience while you're hear." He said.
"I'm counting on it." Stephen said.
"You two enjoy your date." Said the man.
Stephen's cheeks blushed red. "Um, oh...it's not a date. We're just-"
"Thanks." Tony said. "Come on Stephen."
"Hm?" Stephen looked back at Tony who was pushing him out the door, then back at the man behind the front desk.
The man gave him a wink. "Hanaʻoe i kahi hui kupanaha."
Stephen blushed.

There was music blasting and dancers on large floats.
The floats were very colorful and decorated with flowers and wildlife. There were beach floats, mountain floats, flower floats. All sorts of floats.
There were petals falling and sprinkling all over the streets.
There were fire spitters and hoola dancers.
Everyone looked so happy.
Stephen smiled, enjoy the good vibe this was bringing upon him. He felt like dancing.
"Stephen look!" Tony called.
Stephen looked at him.
Tony had a macaw of some kind standing on his forearm.
Stephen smiled, laughing.
"Take a picture." Tony said, taking his phone out for Stephen.
Stephen took a picture. "There we go."
A tiki dancer took the bird back and smiled at the two, handing them some garlands. "Loaʻa ka manawa maikaʻi!" He said.
"You too!" Tony said, even though he had no idea what he had said.
"He said have a wonderful time." Stephen said.
"When d'you learn Hawaiian?" Tony asked.
"I've been reading a translator since we got here." Stephen said.
"Oh." Tony said. "Look! The fruit cart. Let's get some fruit."
"Okay." Stephen said, walking along side Tony.
They ordered some fruit cups, walking along with the parade.
"What did you get?" Tony asked Stephen.
"I got some mango and this white fruit called hikama." Stephen said. "It's really good. Want some?" He asked, offering his cup to Tony.
Tony took some. "Mm! That is so good."
"And you?" Stephe asked.
"Strawberries and cream." Tony said. "Would you like to try?"
"Yes, please." Stephen answered.
Tony took the lid off his cup and offered some to Stephen.
Stephen took one and ate it. "Hey, that's good."
A dancer with a ukulele came up to them, playing a song as he sang.
Tony and Stephen watched him.
"He's good." Tony said.
"Ho'āʻoʻoe." The dancer offered Tony the ukulele.
"What did he say?" Tony asked.
"He wants you to try it." Stephen said.
"Oh." Tony said. "Thank you." He took the ukulele. "I don't know how to play it."
"Aye." The dancer instructed Tony with his fingers.
Tony tried his best to play before eventually giving up. "I don't know." He said, giving the ukulele back.
The dancer gave him a smile before joining the rest of the dancers.

Tony and Stephen sat on the green grass now along with a large group of people, watching a show the dancers and singers organized.
It was dark outside. The moon and stores shone beautifully behind the dancers and singing.
Fire spitters soon joined the show.
"Hey, Stephen." Tony said.
"Yes?" Stephen looked away from dancers and to Tony.
"You wanna get something to eat?" He asked. "I'm hungry."
"Sure." Stephen said.
The two stood up, applauding when the crowd would.

"Then I told him to stop down if he didn't want to end up with a squirrel in his trousers." Tony said.
Stephen looked at him. "He really went that far?"
"Oh yeah." Tony said, laughing.
The two were now a distance away from the noise and crowd, eating some sweets after their food, watching the waves crash up on the beach.
"It's your turn." Tony said.
"Oh right." Stephen said.
They were sharing secrets.
"I like dancing." Stephen said. "I always have."
"Yeah, I know. You took ballet when you were younger." Tony said.
"Oh, well...then there you go." Stephen said. He looked over at Tony's treat. "What did you get?"
"Chocolate lava cake." Tony said.
"Haven't had that in a while." Stephen said.
"Here." He scooped some up on a spoon and fed it to Stephen.
"Mm~ That's really good." Stephen said.
Tony laughed. "Here." He took his napkin and wiped a bit of chocolate on the side of Stephen's mouth.
"Oh, thank you." Stephen said.
Tony smiled. "You're welcome." He said, looking back at the ocean.
Stephen smiled, before he closed his eyes and scooted a little closer to Tony, laying his head on his shoulder. He sighed, looking out at the ocean.
Tony smiled, his heart beating pounding in his ears. He let his head fall on top of Stephen's, a big stupid smile making its way across his lips.
