Just Like IronMan

Narrator's POV

"This is what weekends are for..." Tony said, leaning back in his beach chair.

>Splash<

"Hey! Watch it!" Tony shouted as some kid splashed near him.

They were at the public pool.

"I told you not to put your chair there." Stephen said, laying down in his long chair, wearing sunglasses and sunning while reading a book.

Peter was inside the pool wearing his shark floaties, splashing around. He was looking around to make some friends.

"It's the only shady spot." Tony said. "You know I get burned easily."

"I have sunscreen in the bag." Stephen said.

"Ew." Tony said.

Stephen sat up and removed his sunglasses. "What do you have against sunscreen?" He asked.

"Nothing." Tony said. "It's just that Tony Stark doesn't submit to the idea of being protected by a cream from the sun's rays. I'm strong, I don't need a stinking cream to keep me safe."

"Your feet are already sunburned." Stephen said.

Tony looked down at his feet. "Ow." He said, pulling them closer to himself and into the shade.

Stephen shook his head, taking out the sunscreen. "Put it on."

"No." Tony said, crossing his arms and sticking his tongue out.

"Tony, UV rays are the main cause of-"

"Blah, blah, blah." Tony did a mocking motion with his hand. "That's all I hear. Tony, blah, blah this. Tony blah, blah that. Blah, blah, blAH!"

Stephen tackled Tony off his chair and pinned him on the ground by sitting on his back. "Tony Stark, stop acting like a child and put on sunscreen."

"No!" Tony tried to pull away, reaching his arms out.

Stephen looked around for the sunscreen. Once he had found it, he reached for it, placing a hand over Tony's face, pulling his head back as he reached for the bottle. "Put the sunscreen o-"

They froze in place, watching as Peter ran out of the pool, past them, sniffling.

Stephen and Tony looked at each other.

"Ngh!" Stephen pushed Tony's face to the ground and quickly got off of him. "Peter." He called, running after the six year old.

"Uh!" Tony groaned, but got back up and ran over to Stephen and Peter.

Peter hiccuped as he cried, wiping his little balled up fists over his eyes to make his tears go away. His lip was pouty and his eyes teary.

"Sweetie, what's wrong?" Stephen asked, taking Peter's hands into his own.

"T-The kids at the pool don't want to be my friends." Peter said.

"Aw, hon-"

"These lame ass kids don't wanna be Peter's friends." Tony said. "Forget sunscreen Stephen, I've got a couple of children to drown." He said, popping his knuckles. "Ah..ow, ow..."

Stephen rolled his eyes, shaking his head and turned back to Peter. "Did you tell them your name?"

Peter nodded. "Mhm."

Tony crouched down next to Stephen, listening to Peter.

"What did you say?" Stephen asked.

"Hi, my name is Peter." Peter said, still teary eyed.

"Oh, honey." Stephen took his face in his hand and wipe away Peter's tears with his thumbs. "It's okay." He said. "We'll be your best friend." Stephen said.

Tony and Stephen embraced Peter.

Peter hugged them back, wrapping his arms around them and placing his head on each of their shoulders.

They pulled away after some time.

"How about we go get some shaved ice? Sound good?" Tony asked.

"Mhm." Peter nodded, wiping the last of his tears away.

"Come on." Tony said, standing up.

Stephen followed him.

They gathered their things and walked out of the pool.

The two men held onto to each of Peter's hands as Peter looked down at his shadow as they walked.

"Hm... Ah... Mm!"

Tony and Stephen watched as Peter tried to eat a spoonful of shaved ice, struggling against his floaties.

The floaties prevented the spoon from reaching his mouth.

"Um, Peter do you want us to help you with that?" Stephen asked.

"No. I can do it." Peter said, struggling.

"Are you sure?" Tony asked.

"Yup." Peter popped the p at the end of that.

"Well, okay." Tony said, going back to converse with Stephen.

Peter continued to try, failing over and over again, but not giving up. "Ah!" He gasped when he got some of the red colored ice on his shoulder, but eased.

It felt good, cooling off his body.

He took another spoon and let it fall on his shoulder again, then another, then another, then another...

"I don't know. I'm not really interested in politic- Oh my goodness." Stephen gasped when he got a glance at Peter, who was half blue now. "Peter, what did you do?"

Tony turned to Peter, he chuckled once he laid eyes on him.

"It felt good." Peter said.

"Now you'll be all sticky." Stephen said, getting some napkins. "Come here."

Peter went over to him.

"I really hope that blue comes o-"

"Ow." Peter groaned.

"What?" Stephen asked.

"My shoulder hurts." Peter said.

Stephen looked at his shoulder in confusion, all he saw was the blue dye. He looked over to his other shoulder, which had gone untouched, it was a red color. He sighed. "Peter, did you take the sunscreen I put on you off?"

"No." Peter said. "The water must've gotten it off." Peter said.

Stephen sighed, looking back at Tony. "I swear. You two are more alike than you seem." He said. He turned back to Peter. "Let's get home and wash you off. I have some aloe cream to help with the burn."

"Did you know the heart of a shrimp is located in its head?" Peter asked, wearing a green frog towel around his shoulders while sitting crisscross applesauce in Stephen's own crisscrossed legs.

"Oh." Stephen said, combing Peter's hair. "I guess Tony uses his head twice as much." He said with Tony sitting behind him on a stool, combing Stephen's hair.

"Stephen, I swear to god, one of these days..." He said.

Stephen laughed.

Peter laughed along with him, but then stopped. "I don't get it." He said.

Tony and Stephen chuckled, shaking their heads at the little one they were in charge of.
