Katherine had gotten out of the hospital and now sat on her bed at home writing in her diary.

Dear diary,

She wrote.

I've heard small updates on Lucy.  They won't let me see her again until she's awake.  They said last time I cried too loud and it woke other patients.  I hate that hospital.  She's bound to wake up sometime soon though.  Her vitals have been good and she's gonna pull through.

Katherine looked down at her bandaged hand.  Thank God she was right handed.

Her pen was about to hit the paper again when Jack came through the door.

"It's Lucy." He said quickly, "She's awake."

Katherine's eyes widened and she dropped her pen, getting up from the bed and running and tackling him in a hug as happy tears came down her cheeks softly staining his shirt.

"She's alive.  She's alight." Katherine whispered against him as he held her.

"That she is." Jack smiled.

Jack quickly set Katherine down and she went to get dressed.

Jack fixed his tie in the mirror and waited as Katherine rushed around, grabbing a dress and heels.

"Ready to go?" Jack asked.

"Yes!" Katherine called getting on her other shoe.

The two went in the taxi to the hospital, Katherine bounced her knees in her seat the whole way.

They arrived and Katherine leapt out as Jack paid the man.

Katherine's heels made a loud click-clack as she made her way to the front desk.

"Na-"

"Lucille Pulitzer." Katherine interrupted.

"Room 678"

Katherine ran to the elevators and Jack followed, pushing the 6th floor button.

The elevator climbed at a slow rate an Katherine tapped her foot.

The elevators dinged open and Katherine rushed out into the hall and too room 678.

She knocked on the door and opened it.

"Katherine!"

Katherine smiled relieved to hear Lucille's voice.

"Lucy." She whispered running and hugging her very gently.

Her blonde hair was like sunshine around the pillow and reflected off the light.  She had a neck brace on and her and a fading black eye.  But she was okay.  She was awake.  That was all that mattered to Katherine.

Katherine kissed her forehead and stroked her hair back.

"I missed you sissy."

"I missed you too."

Jack came in and smiled at the two sisters.

"Hey Lucy." He said.

"Hey bro-in-law." Lucy joked, "How's it going?"

"We're just glad you're okay." He smiled.

Jack and Katherine pulled up chairs and sat there the whole day until they told them to go home and rest.
