* a week later*

Katherine awoke that morning and shuddered.

Today.

She'd have to face her mother in "Queen training"

She gently slipped out of Jack's arms and stretched herself out before slipping on her purple silk robe over her body.

She walked to the bathroom and began brushing her teeth and washing her face.

When she finished washing her face she looked up and saw another person in the mirror behind her.

"Jesus!" She yelled backing into Jack.

"Well good morning to you too." Jack laughed, catching her before she fell.

"I don't wanna go." She whispered.

"I know you don't. . . Just like you don't want to hear what I have to tell you now."

"Wha-"

"Parliament wants a baby."

Katherine stumbled back into the counter.

"T-They want what??" She asked frantically.

"A baby Katherine." Jack said, "Really it's no big deal."

"No big deal?!" Katherine shouted at him, walking back to her closet to find a dress, "It's a living breathing human that I'd have to carry in me for 9 months and go through the pain and aching of it! It's a person!"

"Well I don't see why-"

"Save it Jackson!" Katherine snapped, slipping a dress over her head and smoothing it out.

"The hell Katherine?!" Jack yelled back.

He knew he was in trouble when she used a full name.

"Jackson Michael Kelly we are too young to be having babies!" She yelled.

"Katherine Samantha Kelly we are not!"

"Ugh! You just make me so- Ugh!" Katherine yelled balling her hands up at her sides and stomping her foot to the ground.

"What are you 7?!" Jack asked mockingly.

Katherine went and grabbed her purse and left, slamming the door behind her.

Jack sighed deeply and sat on the bed, head in his hands.

"Now 1- 2- 3 walk." Mary said to Katherine as she balanced a book on her head.

"Is this really necessary?" Katherine asked.

Her mother whacked her arm with her fan.

"Yes it is very much!"

Katherine winced before sighing.

"Mom- parliament wants a baby."

"And?"

Katherine sighed again.

"J-Jack and I d-d-don't." She whispered nervously.

"What do you mean you don't?!" Her mother yelled before slapping her cheek hard.

Katherine fell, the book tumbling on the floor.

"Can't even keep a book on your head and now can't make us a heir!"

"I never said I wasn't able to!"

"Shut up! You will listen to me!" Her mother yelled slapping her other cheek.

Katherine kept her hands over her face.

"You are stupid and worthless." Her mother hissed, "I should have never had you."

Tears stung Katherine's eyes.  She was used to it though.  It was what her mother usually said.

"Now leave! Damnit." Mary yelled before giving her a final kick to the stomach.

Katherine doubled over in pain, clutching her waist.  She quickly scrambled to get up and ran out of the room, leaving her purse, mother and book in the room.

Katherine ran up the stairs two by two and opened the door to her's and Jack's room.

She rushed inside and slammed the door shut.

"Hey Ace! Great news! Parliament decided to give us some ti-" Jack said walking into the room.

He stopped short at the sight of her, clutching her waist and her cheeks bruised.

"Oh my gosh Kath." He whispered running over and taking her face in his hands.

Katherine winced.

"Sorry sorry." Jack said touching her gently, "What the hell happened?"

"What do you think happened?" Katherine muttered through gritted teeth.

Jack hugged her closer.

"I need to report it."

"No." She whispered against him.

Jack gently too her to their room and Katherine crawled onto his lap on the bed.

Jack said nothing but hugged her close and stroked her hair and wiped away her tears.

"She said she never should have had me. . ." Katherine mumbled into his chest.

"Well if she didn't have you you couldn't meet me and we couldn't be happy." Jack whispered.

"Are we happy?" Katherine asked, looking up at him with mascara down her cheeks.

"We are." Jack said, "And parliament said we can wait a while for the baby."

"Really? For sure?" Katherine smiled weakly.

"For sure." Jack smiled back, kissing her head softly, "Now let's go clean you up."
