Let's Go Swimming!

My second day at Ouran was slightly better than the first. I sat with Haruhi and the twins at lunch, thankful for the company. "What's that thing on your nose?" one of the twins asked, poking my nose. I swatted his hand away and went back to stabbing the fruit on my tray. "It's a piercing. I wore a clear stud so the teachers and Mr. Suoh wouldn't fuss," I replied as he continued to poke at it. Ugh, these people obviously had no idea what personal space was. "Why would you get a piercing? That's tacky," the other sneered, sitting across from the twin next to me. I brushed my hair behind my ear, showing them three more piercings, one of them a hoop through the cartilage at the top of my ear. "I've got a tattoo, too. Wanna complain some more?" I sighed. "It's my body and I'll do with it what I please." The one who had poked my nose looked at me curiously. "A tattoo? Where?" he asked. "It's not somewhere naughty, is it?" the other asked, wiggling his eyebrows at me. "Can we eat, please?" Haruhi interjected, sitting in front of me. "You two are so inappropriate." I smiled gratefully at her and continued eating. The twins just wouldn't let it go though.

Finally, I snapped. Pushing my tray aside, I took off my uniform jacket and rolled up the sleeve of my button-up shirt, lying my left arm on the table and revealing the band around my bicep. In the center was a heart, made to look like a locket. Inside of it were the words "Tu est mon coeur". Vines wrapped all the way around my arm, meeting on either side of the heart. "Ooh," they said in unison. "What does that mean?" Haruhi asked, peeking over the twin who had called my piercing tacky. "You are my heart," I mumbled, quickly pushing my sleeve down and putting my jacket back on. "Would you look at that, Kaoru? She really wasn't lying," he said. Now I knew which was which at least. "Yeah, we thought you were just saying that to sound tough," Kaoru replied, glancing at me with a shrug. "I have no reason to lie to you. You guys are my friends, " I said, looking at all of them. Haruhi smiled as if to confirm my statement. The bell rang, signaling the end of lunch. Well, I guess it was time to get to work.

I laid out in a chair, my legs hanging lazily over the side as Tamaki paced in front of me. "We still need to figure out your type," he said, looking a bit frustrated. "My type?" I repeated, cocking an eyebrow at our "leader". He stopped pacing and turned to me with a smile. "Yes, a type," he replied as he started to point out the other hosts. "Honey-senpai is our boy lolita," Honey took a bite of cake and hugged Usa-chan for emphasis, "Mori-senpai is the strong and silent type; Hikaru and Kaoru are our little devils, and their brotherly love borders on incestuous and taboo which drives the girls crazy; Haruhi is our natural type; Kyoya is the cool type; and I," he paused for dramatic effect, "am the Prince Charming type. Our types are based on certain characteristics we have that the girls find appealing. You need a type...but of course we're going to figure out what characteristics guys would like. Care to help us think of something?" I rolled my eyes and started playing with my hair. "I'd rather go swimmin' with hungry gatahs," I replied tiredly.

Out of nowhere, I heard squeaky giggling and the sound of a motor whirring. Suddenly, a girl with dirty blonde hair and glittery brown eyes started to rise from a platform in the floor. "Gah-dey-dawn!" I exclaimed, jumping out of my seat. "The hell is that?" She stared down at us from her little stand. "That...is Renge," Kyoya answered, a hint of annoyance in his voice. "You're approaching this all wrong, Tamaki," she fussed, jumping down and standing in front of me. They both stared at me, observing like I was a piece in a museum. "You're looking at it like she's one of the boys..." she trailed off then her face instantly lit up with joy. "She's the tough girl, but deep inside she's really a sweetheart" she cheered, clapping excitedly. "She's bad and used to hanging out with guys, but actually she's really sweet and girly." I crossed my arms and glared at her as she continued her rambling. She went to hug me around my shoulders and I stepped away, letting her fall flat on her face. The twins laughed while everyone else continued to watch us. Seemingly unfazed, she got up. "Stay outta my personal space," I warned. She climbed back up on her platform as the motor kicked up and she lowered again. "This isn't the last of me! I'll be seeing you around, Breaux," she shouted before disappearing completely. "That's it! She's completely right! I don't know how I didn't realize it before!" Tamaki squalled, crushing me again in one of his steel-grip hugs. I just frowned and remained still until he let me go. Kyoya shoved a bag in my hands and pushed me in the direction of the changing room. "We're cosplaying today; everyone should go ahead and get ready," he said, jotting down something in his notebook. I sighed and went in the changing room, peering into the bag fearfully.

"You gotta be kiddin' me! This some bullshit, yeah!" I shouted, staring at my reflection. I had been sitting in the dressing room for half an hour, refusing to come out. I was in a pair of pale yellow pants that poofed out and then were tight around my ankles. My shirt? It was hardly a shirt at all! The yellow rag had sleeves that hung off my shoulders, and underneath the bust, see-through fabric hugged my skin, stopping just below my belly button. I wore a head piece with a small veil and my hair was pulled into a high ponytail, a sparkly gold bahdookie holding it up. "I'm not coming out like this!" I yelped, my face turning as red as a tomato. "Don't be such a baby!" the twins shouted. I growled and pulled the curtain aside, glaring at them with my hands on my hips. The boys were all dressed in poofy pants and vests, most of them shirtless (except for Haruhi of course). It looked like something straight out of Arabian Nights. "Whose idea was this? Who decided to put me in this d-damn monkey suit!?" No one answered me-- they just stared. Someone was going to pay for this!!! I crossed my arms over my chest, smirking. "Tamaki, that's no way to look at your 'daughter'. What are you, some kind of pervert?" I taunted. The look on his face practically shattered, which-- I admit-- gave me a bit of joy. "P-pervert? I'm not a pervert!" he sobbed, retreating to his little corner to sulk. I narrowed my eyes at the others. "Y'all don't have to stare, too!" Oh, this was going to be a horrible afternoon.

After school, I sat outside waiting for Aunt Jeanie. I was so glad to be back in my regular school uniform. A large black limo pulled up, and the host club was inside. "See you guys Monday," I said, giving them a small wave. The door flew open and the twins grabbed me, shoving me in the back seat. I was between Kaoru (I think) and Haruhi when they slammed the door and the driver took off. "Uh...where are we going?" I asked nervously. "We're going swimming, Addie-chan!" Honey exclaimed, waving Usa-chan in my face. He, Mori, Tamaki, and Kyoya were sitting across from us. "I-It's not warm enough to go swimming," I said with a weak smile. "We'll be indoors. My family owns a private resort," Kyoya fired off his answer just as the words left my mouth. I slumped down in my seat, completely defeated. "Course they do," I grumbled, pulling out my phone.

Not @ school. I've been kidnapped.

I smiled as I hit send, then immediately thought better of it. I wouldn't want Aunt Jeanie worried.

Not really. I'm out with friends, be home later.

There, that was better. "Who are you texting?" Kaoru asked, peering over my shoulder. "None ya bid'ness," I replied, quickly shoving my phone in my bag. I didn't bother trying to sound formal around them. What was the point? "Hikaru, leave her alone. She's probably texting her boyfriend," the twin sitting against the window taunted. Ah, so I was wrong. The one next to me was Hikaru, not Kaoru. "I ain't got a boyfriend!" I squealed, leaning over Hikaru to glare at (the real) Kaoru. "If anyone were to date my little girl, I'd be outraged!" Tamaki fumed before launching into a rant about how "I wish someone would have the nerve to ask her out" and "It's my job to insure she remains a sweet and innocent young lady!" I just rolled my eyes and clutched my bag to my chest.

"I don't even have a bathin' suit," I whined as they shoved me toward the changing room, Kaoru dragging Haruhi along behind me. "Our mother is a designer and we've picked out a few of her latest swim suits for you and Haruhi to choose from," the twins said in unison. They practically threw us in the changing room and slammed the door. The room was about as big as a public restroom, with three curtain-covered stalls. Several suits were on display in front of us. She grabbed a simple pink bikini and disappeared into the first stall. I chose a black tankini and ducked into the second stall. "Haruhi?" I called a few moments later, pushing the curtain aside and stepping out into the small room. "Yeah?" she replied, coming out and standing in front of me. I pouted and turned around, facing the mirror. "Tie it," I begged, holding my hair up so she could tie my top. Pink suited her well; she was beautiful. I glanced at my reflection and my eyes widened. I was too. "It's amazing how much confidence a couple pieces of fabric can give you, huh?" she laughed. I nodded in response, smiling at her in the mirror. "All done. Let's go," she grinned, guiding me toward the door. I let go of my hair and it tumbled down my back. I played with it nervously as I followed her. The guys were all changed into swimming trunks and were lounging by the pool. One of the twins glanced up at me and his eyes widened. I felt my face grow warm, yet I couldn't stop the blush that rose to my cheeks. "My two little girls! No, Daddy doesn't approve of this at all! Young ladies shouldn't be dressed like this! It's so indecent! And Adrienne, is that a tattoo? That's just...appalling!" Tamaki shrieked. I walked right by him, shoving him into the water. His ranting and raving was replaced by splashing and gurgling. I smirked at him as he stood in the water and glared at me.

After a while, we were all in the water playing. Honey had ditched his little pink floatie and was now sitting on Mori's shoulders as Mori waded through the water. Honey splashed me, giggling wildly. I spit water out and glared at him. Next thing I knew, I was on someone's shoulders. I glanced down and saw Kaoru smirking up at me. I mean, I thought it was Kaoru. I smiled back at him and then glared at Honey. "You're goin' down!" I declared. Mori narrowed his eyes at me and shook his head slightly. "Chicken!" Tamaki cheered, lifting Haruhi on his shoulders. We shoved at one another mercilessly, all struggling to stay up. Tamaki and Haruhi hit the water laughing. Honey and Mori went crashing down later, Honey screaming in defeat. I grinned triumphantly, offering a high (low?) five to Kaoru. He was looking up at me with a wicked smile. Then, I felt hands on my shoulders, pulling me down. He just let me go, letting me flip backwards into the water. I came up coughing and spitting up water. The twins stood on either side of me, rumbling with laughter. "Hikaru!" I shrieked, splashing the twin who had pulled me into the water. Everyone immediately joined in, attacking the twins. I couldn't believe it. I was laughing and smiling; this was the happiest I'd been in years.

When I finally made it home, it was dark. "How was your day, sha?" Aunt Jeanie asked, looking over her shoulder at me. She was on the couch, working on her laptop. I walked straight to the kitchen and fixed myself a bowl of fruits. "It was fine, I guess," I sighed, plopping down on the couch next to her. "That's nice," she smiled softly, turning her attention back to her screen. I lay my head on her shoulder, nibbling on a strawberry. "Honey got lost, 'cause a Tamaki. Then, we almost got attacked by cops who was sent to find Honey, 'cause Kyoya didn't tell 'em there was a group of us on the resort," I giggled, telling her about everything from getting "kidnapped" after school to Honey taking out an entire police force himself. "I'm glad ya had fun, and I'm really happy you made some friends," she said, patting my hair with one hand. "I don' think I got the energy to keep up wit' 'dem tatailles," I yawned, popping a grape in my mouth. I felt my eyelids getting heavy, and soon I was asleep on my auntie's shoulder.
