Induction Ceremony
"Jared, Michael, Jess, and Nadine," Tamaki bellowed, pacing back and forth in front of them, "out of everyone who wanted to be in the host club, we chose you. It is both an honor and a privilege for me to welcome you into our family." It was the second week of school, and our first official club meeting. Nadine and Jess were grinning proudly, practically jumping for joy. I played with my ring, absentmindedly spinning it as Tamaki droned on and on. "Daddy Dearest, I think they get the point," I called sarcastically from my place against the wall on the other end of the room. He shot me a deadly glare and turned his attention back to them. "Be nice," Hikaru scolded softly, nudging me. I looked up at him with a wicked smirk. "But I'm never nice," I whispered, looking up at him and biting my lip. His eyes immediately went to my mouth and he was completely silent. "A.J., stop teasing the poor boy," Haruhi giggled, standing on the other side of me. "The host club is now opened for business!" Tamaki shouted, catching our attention. People immediately began to rush into the room. Girls, and for once even the boys, from other clubs came in and looked around. Dylan came in and immediately sat in my section with a few guys I hadn't met before. Jared and Michael took to it like a horse to water, but the girls seemed a little nervous. "Just be yourself and they'll love you," I murmured to Jess and Nadine as I walked by, taking a seat at the couch in front of them. "Hello beautiful," Dylan grinned. I started pouring tea and smiled politely. "How ya been sha baby? I ain't seen'cha in months," I spoke softly, letting the facade I normally held drop. "I'm good. Really good," he sighed, wiggling his eyebrows at me. Being his best friend, I already knew. He had met someone! I nodded politely and turned my attention to the other gentlemen. "Enchantee boys. My name is Adrienne, but you can call me A.J."
*later that day*
My phone buzzed and I fumbled around my purse for it. It was Hikaru.
Come outside
I sighed and kept walking down the hall, pushing open the large double doors at the front of the school. The entire host club, our new members included, were all sitting in the limo out front. I smiled as Aunt Jeanie pulled up right behind them. "Come on!" Haruhi yelled. "We're going out!" Nadine squealed happily. I held up my hand, signaling for them to wait as I ran to Jeanie's car. "Auntie, I'll be with my friends, is that okay?" She was on the phone, completely ignoring me. "Jeanette Marie Breaux!" I sighed in exasperation. She looked at me disapprovingly and covered the receiver. "Huh?" I rolled my eyes, bouncing impatiently. "I'm going with them, is that alright?" I whined, pointing at Hikaru and Kaoru who were standing on either side of the limo, all of the hosts hollering and yelling for me to hurry up. She nodded and went back to her conversation on the phone, waiting for me to back away from the car before she sped off. I grinned and skipped to the limo happily, throwing my stuff into the back seat. "Where are we going?" I asked. Hikaru slid into the seat easily and held his hand out to me. I took it and squished into the back. Limo or not, there was still way too many people. "Out," Jared replied, looking at me with the same look all of the host boys had mastered. I loathed that evil smirk. Jess swatted at him, her thick ponytail swaying with every movement. "It's Friday! We're going out. Nadine and I talked the boys into taking us to the mall." I nodded and settled into Hikaru's arms.
It had been a fun and eventful day; the girls and I had several bags full of new clothes and shoes, and now everyone squirmed nervously as I sat in a chair at a nearby tattoo shop. "Are you sure about this?" Tamaki fretted. "Yes, I'm sure," I sighed, rolling my eyes. The piercer was coming back with the needle and an alcohol swab. I put my earbuds in again and closed my eyes. Over Monster by Skillet, I could hear the host club's collective gasp as the woman pierced my lip. It was a sharp pain, but it was bearable. I just squeezed my eyes shut tighter until she tapped my shoulder. "All done, doll," she smiled, handing me a small mirror. I looked at the hoop on my lip and grinned, wincing a little at the sting. "What do you think?" I asked, looking at my friends. Their looks of disdain and disapproval were obvious, but Hikaru smiled and kissed the left side of my mouth, careful to avoid the new accessory on the right. He took one of my earbuds out and leaned in close, whispering, "I think it looks sexy." I felt the heat rising to my cheeks and I got up, digging through my purse to hide my face. After I had paid, we left quietly. Haruhi was on my left, Hikaru to my right, and everyone else following closely behind and scolding me. "This is why we can never leave her alone," Kaoru explained, nudging my back. "If she does this kinda stuff on a whim with us around, imagine the trouble she gets into on her own." His teasing was followed by snide remarks from our newest members. "Yes, I am such a rebel, such a delinquent. I'd be lost without you guys. Honestly, I don't know what I'd do with myself!" I cried over-dramatically. My response was met with tittering and I turned around, walking backwards, to face them. "Welcome to the next three years of your lives les petits," I grinned wickedly, shooting a wink at Jess, Jared, Michael, and Nadine.
