On My Mind
This is something that has been on my mind a lot lately. Now, normally it would be there because I have friends who have depression and have thought of it, however, I began to see that a lot of the anime that I've seen have this topic in them. For example, the anime starring Joseph Jobson, Blassreiter. In this anime, one character is overwhelmed with guilt and sadness and hence decides to do the unthinkable. This got me thinking, about how life goes. 34,000 people commit suicide each year. Each word that comes out of someone's mouth could hurt someone else. People are affected by the words of others, that's the sad truth of the world. Now, this isn't something that I'm talking about to get anything back from. I am talking about this seriously. I feel very deeply about this topic and hence I am talking to you all about it.
Depression is something that a lot of people have to face within the time of their lives. However, not everyone is always affected by it. Some people have to take medication because it's so bad. Depression is just as it sounds. People who have depression are the kind of people I like to talk to. Now, I'm an outgoing person and an extrovert. Because of this, I feel that it is part of my duty to help those who feel terrible. I always try to cheer them up, unless they say they need time and space. Even so, I do try my hardest to do my best and cheering them up no matter what. I like to say that's something I can be proud of.
Sadly, I am NOT Superman, so I can't fly around the world helping every lost soul I find. I can't help everyone. No one really can. You see, some people believe that if they pray enough, then everything will get better, but the sad truth is that God... doesn't always do everything in his power. Now, as I said at some point, it's not that I don't believe in him, I just don't believe he helps all he can. He tends to just let things go with the flow. He prefers us to evolve by ourselves, and go through the hardships, and learn from them. I, myself, have never prayed for anything. I go with the flow.
Anyway, I got off topic. Sorry. You see, from my own experience, I can say that bullies are everywhere. No matter what grade you're in, or what job you have, or even what college you go to. They follow us all... they follow us everywhere. That's the plain and simple truth. I've had my fair share of being bullied, but that's JUST it. I'm not bullied any more than the next person, or that's what I want to be true. Sadly, the truth is never what you want it to be. The truth is that some people are just... named as outcasts. Some are 'outcasts' because everyone(or just one person or two) think that they're ugly. Others are called outcasts because they're 'overweight', or they're lazy. Anyone could be made an outcast, and that's the truth of it all. You could be the most popular person in school or the smartest, but none of that would matter if you made one single mistake.
We, humans, are judgy creatures by nature. We insult others because we THINK that it makes us feel better. When in reality, it only hurts you more. It shapes you to be the kind of person who puts everyone down. When you're like that, you tend to put yourself on top. Now, there's nothing wrong with being confident or cocky, or whatever you want to call it. However, there is a limit as to how much you can put someone down.
People suffer because of the stupid words that some people say. They might not realize it, but that word could end up with a life lost. Humans are precious creatures, but we are also our own demise. We make fun of people in the hopes that it will cover up your own insecurities. It doesn't do that. It never will. It only gets worse when the words you said to try and make yourself feel better cause someone to take their own life. That guilt is unbearable. I honestly, wouldn't know what that feels like... but I can only imagine.
All of you out there... I beg of you. If you are that person, who says those words, who pick on those who have so little confidence... please, for the love of God and all of those above...Stop what you're doing. No one deserves to die because they are told the wrong words. A life is something to be cherished. They aren't long, so we need to make the most of them. Telling someone that they're overweight, or ugly, or stupid, or anything hurtful is just a waste of a life. While you waste your time putting someone down, you could be... making the most of your short life. No one lives forever, and I know that no matter how many people actually decide to read this, people will still die. People will still take that one step into the road. They will still fall. Still hurt themselves, blame themselves. If you're one of those people who feel like you're unwanted... even if I don't know you personally, I would rather you continue to live, than waste your time listening to the idiotic words that come out of someone else's mouth. Live your life the way you want to. Nobody is perfect, that's what makes us human! All you have to do is embrace your imperfections and stand up. Even if it's just one or two people, if someone says that they love you or that they want you to keep on living your life, then that's all you need. All you need is just one person. One person who loves you for the way you are. I'll say this loud and clear to all the people who decide to read this:
No matter where you are, no matter who you are, where you live, what you do... even if I don't know you, I love you, and I want every single one of you to live on, create new memories with the ones you love and the ones who love you. Don't waste your time with people who think it's okay to put you down. I will say this as many times as you need me to. I want you to LIVE.
