Monday Late Morning...
Christian Anthony's POV:
I spent the whole morning talking with Imee about her experiences back when she was healthy. Knowing that she's smart, I asked her random questions about general knowledge and mathematics, my most hated subject...and she answered it all...
"You know, Anthony, hating one subject is not because of lack of knowledge...it's about ignorance." Imee uttering some words of wisdom to me. "You're being traumatized by dizzy numbers and solutions that you didn't know about its real potential. How about you try to understand it once again, but this time you should do it more slowly...step by step, I mean."
"...sigh...perhaps you should help me then. I suck in Math."
"Why, certainly! Hehehe!" Imee giggled as my face blushes in embarrassment.
"Tok! Tok! Tok!" Suddenly, a knock at a door is heard. I stood up and and approached it.
"Coming!"
I opened the door and saw a young nun, exhausted and gasping for air. Perhaps she came running towards Imee's room...because she has something important to say...
"Umm...madam? Are you alright?"
"Oh! Ehehehe...huff...I'm sorry, it's just...huff...I'm just catching me breath." The young nun smiled as she recomposes herself. "Anyway...huff...are you...huff...Christian Anthony Gonzales?"
"Yes, certainly. What can I do for you?"
"Um...huff...Father Jean wants to see you in front of the church." The young nun told me. "He has something you must do for Imee to get closer with each other. Don't worry, I'll cover her while you're away."
Smiling at the nun, I complied to her directive and tap her shoulder.
"I trust you, milady. Take care of her, okay?"
"Yes, Kuya Anthony!"
I walked out of the church...for the first time, I left the premises ever since the day I just came out of prison. From that time, she had already starting to change my life...I'm starting to learn something from her...about not giving up...and accepting God into my life. I wonder what new things will she will teach me.
"Good morning, Anthony." Father Jean greets me at the entrance. "How's Imee right now?"
"Well, she's currently resting and being tendered by a nun." I tell Imee's situation. "And I think I'm starting to earn her trust."
"You know, she can sense how really kind a person is. If she knows that this person is rude, she would just won't talk. Besides, aside from the children, nobody liked her because of her condition." Father Jean explains. "But ever since she met you...I can see that she's begins to open up to some friends like you."
"Oh...I see, I suppose that we are both misunderstood by the people...good thing that you should up. Thank you, Father."
"Don't sweat it, son. I'm just doing my job as the pastor." He then shows me a wheelchair. "By the way, let me show you some new blessings for the lady."
And there it is...an electric wheelchair just for Imee, with an built-in ventilator.
"Whoa! This is so cool! How did you get this?" I smiled brightly in awe.
"Well, somebody actually donated this and just dropped this off to us just this morning. Perhaps it came from the parents of one of the children that Imee taught last Sunday." Father Jean told me. "And even there's a envelope with cash with it."
"WHAAAT?!?!"
Out of excitement, I take the envelope from Father's hand and opened it...and there I saw...a huge amount of money! To be exact...it's P10,000!!!
"Hmm...what a coincidence, huh? How about you use this money to treat your little friend with clothes and stuff?"
"Oh, sure! I'm don't know what kind of clothes Imee like but...okay, I'll try."
Imee Therese's POV:
"....yaaaawn...."
I was talking with Anthony earlier then I fall asleep when he was called outside. When I wake up and opened my eyes, nobody noticed me...Anthony always notices me when I woke up...so I decided to speak up...
"Anthony? Anthony? Hello? Is everyone there?"
"Oh, yes. Ate Imee?" A different voice replied to my call.
"Oh! I thought Anthony's still here. Do you know where he is?"
"Yes, Anthony's out because Father Jean needs help in doing something. I'm the nun who would be taking care of you I'm his absence." The young lady voice replies. "Sorry if I didn't notify you about it...don't worry though, he will be back in the moment."
"Hehehe! No worries, I'm just checking." I giggled and cheered her up.
"Okay, I understand. How about you try to rest for a bit more? You might need to have more energy. You might need it for something."
"Hehehe! Are you hiding something?" I punned her and giggled. "Never mind, I shall take a nap, okay?"
"Yep! Thanks, Ate Imee!"
Christian Anthony's POV:
A few hours later,
Well, this is what I've brought...
Well, that's worth P10,000, it's worth four large paper bags! I spend too much for Imee, that I was forced to walk from the mall where I buy these clothes to the church. Good thing that when I arrived at the church, some nuns are there to carry others with me, while Father Jean is already pushing the electric wheelchair towards Imee's room.
"Tell Imee this is your gift to her." Father Jean tells me as he opens the door. "Good luck, Anthony. You can do that makes her happy. May God Bless you."
"Thanks, Father."
Father and the nuns took in all that I've brought inside the room as I switch places again with the nun that guarded Imee the whole morning.
"I'm back, Imee!"
"Oh, Anthony! You're here! Hehehe!" Imee smiled at me and giggled. "What took you so long? I'm so bored!"
"Hehehe! My bad!" I scratched my head in embarrassment. "Father Jean helped me in buying some clothes and an electric wheelcha-"
"Wait, did you just say electric wheelchair?!?!" Imee smiled at me in excitement. "Oh my gosh! I've been wanted that for so long! I wanted to go places more than my room! Thank you! Thank you so much!"
"You're welcome! Hmm...how about we take your electric wheelchair for a spin tonight?" I winked at her in my suggestion.
"Sure! Why not?! Hehehe!" Imee agrees with a giggle.
