Forgiveness
Saturday of the Sixth Week of Easter
Imee Therese's POV:
"Yaay!!! We're going on a trip!"
Just like little kids, Catherine and Evangeline seems excited as Joshua ignites the engine and drive the van.
"Hey, sisters. Don't get too cocky. We'll gonna have a long ride so you better sure that you won't get exhausted when we reach our destination, okay?"
"Yes, Father Jean! Hehehe!" The girls quickly replied with a giggle.
Today is our eight and a half hour journey up north...into the place where Our Lady of Peace stood...in the city of Antipolo. And while in our way, Father Jean allows us to stop by any place that is beautiful...that is, if we could find it.
"Imee, you know, there's a lot of places we can see here in our trip, especially the coastline in Quezon." Anthony tells me. "If only you could see them all...you'll be very happy."
"Ehehehe...don't worry about it. You can just describe the place to me, you know." I replied and giggled. "I still have an unique imagination in my mind. I can form images of what you see even my eyes are blind."
"Well, okay. If that's what you want. Hmm...while we're waiting for a random scenery to pass by us, how about we have some bible-sharing right now?"
"Hmm...great idea, Anthony! Hehehe!" I accepted his suggestion and giggled. "Oh yeah, it's just the right time...we have this feast of Ascension tomorrow. Let's start guys!"
"Sure, Imee." Catherine joins to the group. "I've never seen you preaching about the Gospel for weeks now."
"Hmm...let's see how you fare well in your catechism, my dear child." Father Jean, hearing my preaching for the first time, added. "Don't worry about me, though, I'll just listen to you and help you compliment your explanations, okay?"
"No problem, Father."
Father Jean's POV:
Imee's boyfriend and catechism partner, Anthony, opened the pocket Bible from his pocket and searched and read about the Gospel for the day. It's all about what the Good Lord has said to His apostles, how important God the Father is in our lives...
"During that point in time, our Good Lord has talked about one thing, his Father God. Our Good Lord doesn't claiming all the miracles that He has done by himself; of course, He always crediting Father God for all of it. Do you remember how many times our Good Lord is praying to His Father for the strength to make the wonders for His people...and despite being persecuted by His enemies and put into death in the cross, He always leads the way to His Father. That is why our Lord has given us the most important prayer that we had devoted to...the Lord's prayer..."
"Don't you know that the Lord's prayer is known in all Christian denominations?" Anthony compliments her sermon. "Not only Catholics recite this...but also with Anglicans, Protestants, and Aglipayans...every Christian church in the world has this prayer...it keeps the Christianity together. Well...come to think of it, history has broke the single community, that the Lord's Apostles that has cared for, into pieces. But this single prayer is the symbol of hope that this pieces will be bounded to be united again...umm...aah...eeh..."
Imee smiles at Anthony while he is explaining his part...that when he experienced some memory block, our little angel comes to his aid...
"Our God will never allow His church to fall apart...that's why the Lord's Prayer remains standing until today." Imee picks up what her boyfriend has left. "Remember one of the passages in this prayer - forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespasses against us - forgiveness is what we need to keep this community together. When there is forgiveness, there is love. Don't be afraid to beg some forgiveness...it will not degrade your dignity and honor...but it will makes people say that you're a humble and earthly person...and that will actually improve your dignity and honor...not to mention that our Lord will be pleased to you, child of God. So guys, let's begin reciting our Lord's Prayer more often, if you wish that His beloved Church will be one once again and guide us in our everyday lives..."
Joshua parks the van at the side of the road, as everybody join hands to utter the prayer that our Good Lord has taught. As I hold Imee's cold but soft hand...I can feel an mysteriously calming effect filling inside me. As I looked at her at awe on what I'm feeling, she sensed me, turned towards me and smiled sweetly...
"Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen."
As we finished our prayer, I saw everybody smiling at each other...perhaps, the happiness that Imee has just passed unto me...has spread among the rest of us.
"Oh, hey! We're here! The beach! Yaaaaay!!!! Hehehe!!!!"
With Catherine shouting out loud, everybody's has drop themselves off the van...we have stopped over in a famous sceneries in Quezon province.
Imee Therese's POV:
"Catherine's fooling you, Imee. There's no actual sandy beach here." Anthony describes what he is seeing right now. "We're in the side of the road and we will gonna sit at some sort of the bench at the edge of the cliff. Don't worry though, it's just a few feet tall and perhaps...you might feel the waves hitting your feet."
"Hey! I don't say anything about sandy beach!" Catherine overhears Anthony and refutes. "Hmph! I was about to help you with Imee...but you made me angry!"
"Alright! Alright! I'm sorry, I was kidding!" Anthony's voice depicts surrender. "Could you please help me out?"
"Huehehe! That's what I'm wanted to hear!"
Anthony carried me out of the van and let me sit in something hard...perhaps the bench that he is talking about. With Catherine clinging to support me, Anthony removes my sneakers and socks to let my feet face the waves of the sea. As the waves crashes down upon my bare feet...though I can't feel the coldness of water...but I can feel it tickling over the soles...and somewhat found it refreshing.
"Oh, geez! I forgot! You still have the wounds on your feet, Imee!" Anthony quickly panics as he saw my stigmata on my feet. "Don't worry, I'll wear it back for you."
"Hu-huh? Wha-what are you talking about? Hehehe!" I giggled in response. "There's nothing you could worry about me, perhaps you should enjoy the scenery for awhile."
"Well, okay."
Everybody glances upon the view of the ocean. Even my eyes are blind, the waves crashing upon my feet has made me imagine what I was supposed to see...a beautiful crystal clear waters, with the sun shines upon it like a magical mirror...making the sea shine like a star...or a diamond.
Everything seems to be in order....everything seems to be normal...when I heard an unfamiliar voice, calling my love Anthony.
"Sir Gonzales, is that you?"
Little Devil Rin's Note:
After publishing the next chapter tomorrow, there would be no updates for Something More from December 24 (Saturday) until December 26 (Monday). We will spend our Christmas vacation back in Bicol. Learning from my previous work, My Extraordinary Childhood Friend (please read it, please? >~<), I expect that there is choppy to no signal enough to publish a chapter through mobile data. So while we're gone, read and relive the story beautifully created by my Butler Gen! ^_^
And also, pray for our safe trip. We will leave at late night and there's an oncoming storm that will hit Bicol by Christmas Day (Ugh! Not cool, weather. Not cool. -3-). Imee Therese, pray for us. >3<
Advance Merry Christmas everyone! ^_^
