2 years later

Hermione was obviously so much better, two years since Albus was born was more than enough time to heal with the help of potions. Still Harry was very careful with both her and Albus.

"are you sure it's okay to apparate?" Harry asked as he helped Hermione pack for their trip to France to visit Draco and Astoria.

"Harry I'm sure, we talked to the doctor and everything. It's fine." Hermione responded in a calm tone.

They didn't need to be afraid of traveling, everything was safe for them to do.

Harry nodded, finishing up with the kids' bags. "I think this is all we need for a week."

"we packed Scorpius' gift right?"

Harry nodded confidently, "I have it in my bag. He's going to love the stuffed dragon."

"and remember, let Albus be a normal kid. He's going to play and scream and giggle but we know what's bad and what's good and we shouldn't worry. Alright?"

"Yes ma'am." he said pulling her in for a quick kiss. Hermione smiled against his lips, no matter how many times they kissed she always got butterflies in her stomach. "let's go get the kids so we can leave."

Draco greeted them at the apparating point with Scorpius. He smiled brightly when he saw them whilst Scorpius hid behind his leg.

The Potters walked up to them. "Hi." Hermione said with a smile on her face. "where's Astoria?"

Draco shook his head slightly, they understood that it meant he wouldn't talk about it in front of the children. He kneeled down and smiled at the kids, "hi, I'm Draco."

James stared at him in awe, "daddy he has white hair!"

Harry was about to apologize when Draco laughed. "it's a really light blond buddy, like my son. Say hi Scorp."

Scorpius waved shyly. Albus looked up at his dad who nodded. Albus smiled and waved back. Draco stood up chuckling, "well let's get going."

Draco drove them to a small village, "Astoria's family owns all of this. You can stay over there in the peach coloured house. Our house is the green one, two houses down." he parked his car outside the Potter's house and helped them get their things out. Then he drove them to his house.

Astoria was sitting on the couch when they entered. Scorpius ran up to her and hugged her, "Mum!"

Astoria chuckled kissing his forehead, "hi dear." she placed him gently on her lap and smiled at her friends, "hi."  They greeted each other.

Teddy walked out of his room and stood next to Draco after greeting everyone. Draco whispered to him something and Teddy nodded excitedly. He went to James and whispered to him and they left. Harry looked at Draco confused but he gave him a comforting smile. "they're just going to play outside for a bit Harry. There's protection spells all around here."

Scorpius looked over at Albus and then to his mother who gave him an encouraging smile. Scorpius stood up and asked him if he wanted to play. Albus grinned following him to his room.

Hermione smiled watching her kid make hopefully his first friend.

As soon as the kids weren't listening they started talking. Hermione was glad Astoria was doing better but she could see the sadness in both of their eyes when they announced they couldn't have any more children. Both of them had always talked about how they wanted a big family. Draco growing up as an only child didn't want for Scorpius to grow up without a sibling. At least he had Teddy.

They continued talking until it was time for lunch. Harry went to help Draco make something quick to eat. Hermione stood up and sat closer to Astoria, "we could take the kids tonight you know. Give you and Draco some alone time."

Astoria grinned, "really?"

Hermione nodded, "it will be a good bonding experience for the kids and you two deserve some couple time."

Harry and Hermione took the kids back to their house. They were all excited to spend more time together now and on the upcoming days.

Albus seemed to be the most excited. Hermione felt so much joy because of it, he had already met Rose and Daphne (Pansy had twins) and although he didn't mind being with them he didn't necessarily love it.

They let them play for a bit longer until it was their bedtime. They both put all the kids to bed and read to them. They looked so peaceful.

Harry and Hermione went back to bed and laid down together. Hermione wrapped herself around him making him giggle. "Do you have anything on your mind Mione?"

Hermione smiled, "not really. I'm just thinking of fun things to do with the kids while we're here and," she looked up at him with a small smile, "swe could have some fun ourselves."

Harry chuckled rolling his eyes playfully, "I knew you'd say something like that after the doctor cleared you for everything."

Hermione shrugged, "you just know me too well but only if you feel up for it."

Harry blushed, "maybe not today since we have more kids to take care."

She nodded, "I know, it's just that two years is a bloody long time."

Harry chuckled kissing her forehead, "it is but right now we need to sleep."

Hermione stretched up to give him a good night's kiss, "we really do need some rest. Goodnight."

"night Mione. I love you more than I could ever describe."

She blushed, "I'm very happy I have you here."

They laughed sleepily before giving each other a final kiss and falling asleep wrapped up around each other.
