Ron and Pansy told the couple that they would take care of James the day after their anniversary so they could at least get a nice vacation. James just seemed to love being around the gingers. It was also just an excuse to get James to meet the rest of the Weasleys.

Harry and Hermione didn't protest, they were thankful to get a day to themselves. Harry had even rented the beach they stayed at for their first vacation as a couple.

Ginny picked James up along with his things and took him to her house and the happy couple left to the beach.

They placed their things in the bedroom of the beach house and quickly changed into a bathing suit. They raced towards the beach, into the water.

Harry swam to his wife pulling her to a quick playful kiss. Hermione giggled against his lips, merlin she was happy he didn't have to go to work and that they had time to themselves.

They swam around for a bit playing in the water until they got tired and they went to sit down on their towels. It was still early and they still had plans for the rest of the day.

Hermione placed gentle kisses along his jaw making Harry chuckle and blush. "I know we still go on dates but nothing compares to being on mini getaway with you" Harry said with a goofy smile on his face.

Hermione hummed in agreement, "I really like spending time with you. With you and James obviously. I actually thought.... Nevermind."

Harry looked down at her beautiful deep brown eyes, "what is it?"

Hermione straightened up taking a deep breath, "what if we have another baby?"

Harry looked at her with a small smile on his face. They talked about having a big family a while back, of course he wanted another baby. He placed a gentle hand on her cheek, "I think that is a good idea, James would have someone to grow up with and we do have those extra rooms to fill."

Hermione nodded giggling, "I love you."

Harry grinned, "and I love you."

He closed the gap kissing her lovingly. Hermione would never get tired of the way Harry kissed her. It always made fireworks explode inside of her. They were both completely enamoured by each other.

"as much as I would love to continue this right now we have to take a shower and go get some food." Hermione whispered against his lips.

Harry pouted cutely, "we could save water by showering together."

"you are something else professor Potter but I guess you're right." she took his hand and went inside with him.

Harry finished getting dressed with a nice blue and pink floral shirt Hermione had gifted him with a white shirt underneath and grey jeans. He looked at himself in the mirror noticing small lovebites. Was he going to cover them? No, he didn't want to nor did he need to. They weren't that noticeable unless you got too close.

Hermione wore a nice comfortable light blue sundress that had actual functioning pockets and flats.

The plan was to get some lunch, walk around town, watch a movie and order dinner to go.

Not much but something perfect for their vacations.

Harry rented a muggle car so they could get to town easier. It was a nice day outside but it was still a long way to walk since they did rent a private beach house. It also gave them a perfect opportunity to take some sweaters just in case.

Harry parked the car, putting protection spells on it, and they walked to a small Mexican owned restaurant (a/n support small businesses) that was very recommended online. Hermione was excited to try something new, there were many things on the menu she had never tried like; sopes, Chilaquiles, enchiladas, tortas ahogadas and many more (a/n shout out to my favorite dishes).

Finally they settled for tacos and sopes. The waitress brought them tortilla chips and salsas before taking their order.

When the food got there they each tried something from both dishes. It was an explosion of flavor and they managed to put the right amount of salsa on their food to enjoy just a bit of the spiciness.

It was nice to finally try some new cuisine and they could see why this restaurant was very recommended.

After they finished and they paid, they went to walk to the cinema and purchase a ticket to a movie. As they waited for the tike the movie started they bought outside snacks and thanks to Hermione's bottomless bag they snuck in the food.

It wasn't like they never broke any rules before and at least they couldn't get expelled from school Harry joked. Hermione rolled her eyes playfully at this but let it slide.

They enjoyed the movie even if it had some plot holes.

After that they went to walk around the park and shopping centres before heading home.

They still had some time to kill but Harry already had some plans. They were going to build a pillow fort without magic. It was a fun idea and Hermione liked it.

They stood back admiring their work with smile on both of their faces. Harry kissed the top of her head, "should I order dinner now?" Hermione just nodded. "alright."

They ordered some roasted garlic green beans, orange chicken and spring rolls from another small restaurant.

It was a nice little inside picnic, cozy, romantic, and a nice private moment between the two. They had their favorite movie on as they ate and chatted.

Both were vary happy for the future they had built together. A future where they were able to have small getaways together, dates, a wonderful son and hopefully another baby soon.

Tbh this chapter was supposed to be out earlier but I had the urge to make my own wire wrapped elf ears. Then I dyed my hair and got an idea for a story that I will probably write whenever I get ideas for it bcs this is the main story for now
