Chapter 19

Trigger Warning

Mentioned Rape-Non/Con
Suicidal Thoughts

"You do realise he's going to freak out when he wakes up," Bacara said quietly as he looked over to the bed.

"He was fine with me Cara, he leant into me when I was dragging him out."

"Because he had no idea it was you or what was happening Doom, he just felt something warm and leant into it for comfort. Or at least that is what Helix was saying. He mentioned something about disassociating," Bacara said.

"But he doesn't, he doesn't hate me, does he," Doom asked quietly, glancing down at his sleeping vod'ika in his arms.

"Of course he doesn't hate you, you idiot. He for some reason still loves all of us but you two were really close and you abandoned him. You were like his favourite big brother," Bacara said with a shrug.

"I didn't mean to abandon him. I just, I got so caught up in the war, in what was happening and all the rumours. He can't-. He'll forgive me right," Doom said shakily as he looked up at Bacara.

"Oh force no. Faie. FAIE GET IN HERE," Bacara yelled out. A few seconds later the door opened and Faie walked in with Neyo trailing after.

"What? We left for two minutes ago and you two are already karking things up," Faie asked.

"No Doom is getting emotional, and I can't do the whole emotions shit, so you talk to him," Bacara said, waving towards the bed. Faie rolled his eyes but went over to the chair beside the bed while Neyo strolled over to the couch Bacara was laying on and flopped on top of him. Bacara groaned slightly but didn't shove him off, just continued laying as he was and letting Neyo just basically sit on top of him.

"So, what did I miss," Faie asked.

"Do you think Thorn will ever forgive me," Doom asked quietly.

"Of course he will. You're his ori'vod and he cares about you. He just, he needs some time to warm up to each other again," Faie said gently.

"He feels so light, too light," Doom said with a sigh, tugging Thorn closer. Thorn shifted slightly, his arms moving to curl tightly around Doom's shoulders as his head burrowed further into his shoulder.

"He's not even sleeping, it's so weird," Neyo said, sitting up and making Bacara groan.

"He's just not with it right now. The Guard CMO said his locked himself in his mind to get away from the pain from all the memories of him, you know," Faie trailed off with a sigh.

"He's just staring at nothing. He's awake but like, not awake," Neyo said, tilting his head slightly to get a better look at Thorn.

"I tell you what, I did not expect our batch reunion to be under these circumstances," Faie said with a sigh.

"I can't believe Bacara almost shot a Jedi General," Doom said with a snort.

"I would have but bloody Appo stopped me. Next time I see that little runt, I'm going to knock him out," Bacara grumbled.

"No you aren't, or you'll have the rest of Charlie batch on your shebs," Faie said.

"So, I can easily take them. And Stone doesn't talk to any of them, the same issue as us with Thorn-."

"Stone adores Appo because he's the batch vod'ika, so you will most definitely have him hunting you down," Faie cut in and Bacara rolled his eyes.

"I can still take all four of them, especially if I have my special, secret weapon with me," Bacara said with a wicked grin.

"Your special, secret weapon," Doom asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Me," Neyo said, smiling sweetly. Or he was trying to smile sweetly, it just looked evil and creepy.

"It's not really a secret weapon then is it. Everyone knows the two evil twins," Faie scoffed, rolling his eyes.

"Either way, us two could take them. And Faie, wouldn't you stick up for your big brother," Bacara asked.

"Hell no. Appo is in the 501 st which means Rex will get involved and by extension Cody would get involved and likely drag someone like Bly or Wolffe into it and I am not dealing with that," Faie said, lifting his hands and shaking his head.

"Coward," Bacara scoffed.

"Mir'osik," Faie muttered, making Doom and Neyo chuckle.

"What did he just say," Bacara asked with a frown.

"He said whatever," Neyo said, winking at Faie. Bacara huffed but relaxed and started gently drumming on Neyo's back to give himself something to do.

"So what exactly is the plan for when Thorn comes back to himself? Cos like, he hasn't seen any of us in ages and I really don't think we're the first people he wants to be seeing right now," Faie asked.

"I saw him a couple of days ago," Bacara reminded him.

"True. How exactly did you manage that," Doom asked.

"Well when word got out about what the Corries had been going through, I figured Thorn might be hurt so I borrowed a ship and snuck onto the cruiser and tracked him down to his room," Bacara said.

"And he was fine with you? Cos he was sleeping in your lap which is like unheard of unless it's Neyo. You let no one near you," Faie asked.

"I mean he was sleeping when I walked in so I just waited for him to wake up but when he did, he freaked out and then started ignoring me so I tasered him and then he stopped ignoring me and we talked. You guys weren't there so I figured I'd let him cuddle if it helped him. It wouldn't kill me," Bacara said.

"Why would you taser him," Doom asked with a frown.

"Because he was ignoring me and I wanted to talked to him," Bacara said with a shrug.

"Oh my force, you don't taser people for ignoring you Bacara," Faie groaned.

"Seems reasonable enough," Neyo said with a shrug and Bacara grinned, patting his shoulder.

"Where did we go wrong with you two," Doom groaned.

"Hey, it's where did everyone else go wrong. Bacara and I are fine," Neyo said with a frown.

"Back to what I was saying. What do we do? Cos even if he has seen Bacara, he still probably won't want the rest of us around," Faie pointed out.

"Fox is unavailable because Ponds has dragged the batch into a talk, which I really want the details on," Neyo said.

"Yeah, Stone really went off in the chat, so I really want to know what that was about," Faie said with a nod.

"And what's this about Rex almost killing him," Doom asked.

"I don't know anything about that. We might be able to get details from Thorn once he's out of this funk," Faie said.

"Weren't we just discussing how he wouldn't want to see us," Neyo asked.

"What about Thire, he was fine I think," Doom said.

"No, he was dragged out by Stone and they went somewhere to calm him down," Bacara said, shaking his head.

"Oh, did he get upset as well," Neyo asked.

"No, he also tried to shoot the Jedi," Bacara said.

"Hold up. Thire, little baby Thire, tried to shoot a Jedi," Faie asked in surprise.

"Him and Thorn are quite close from what I could tell when I was snooping through a little book of photos Thorn had hidden in his room. There's a lot with Thire in there with them both smiling together," Bacara said.

"Right, so you snooped through Thorn's belongings as well," Doom said, rolling his eyes.

"Of course I did. There was nothing else to do and I wasn't just going to sit and watch him for four straight hours, that's weird," Bacara said with a grin. Faie scoffed and rolled his eyes but smiled slightly. It's just so Bacara.

"So Thire and Stone are also out of the picture. Are there any other Corries down here or someone else Thorn would be comfortable with," Doom asked.

"Not that I-." Faie was cut off as the door opened and in walked Thire, his helmet clipped to his hip.

"Speak of the devil and he shall appear," Neyo said with a grin. Thire glanced at him and frowned before looking to the bed where Thorn was and bristling as he saw Doom.

"Get away from him right now," Thire said. He went to make his way over but Bacara slipped out from underneath Neyo and stepped in front of Thire's path.

"Move," Thire said angrily.

"No, you nee-." Bacara was cut off as Thire's fist slammed into his face and knocked him to the ground. Usually he would easily block a hit like that but he was not expecting it to be thrown as most people are too scared of him to fight with him. Neyo growled and jumped to his feet, lunging towards Thire but Faie was quicker and jumped in front of Thire, pushing him back and holding a hand out to Neyo.

"Enough, stand down," Faie said sternly.

"He just attacked Bacara," Neyo spat angrily.

"He's being protective over Thorn who is in a vulnerable state right now, which is understandable," Faie said, grasping Thire's wrist tightly so the young Commander wouldn't move. Bacara stopped up and wiped the small trail of blood from his mouth, grinning manically. It was a solid hit from Thire, impressive.

"Thire is also Thorn's vod'ika, so if anyone cares about getting into Thorn's good books, you won't touch him," Faie said.

"No I'm not," Thire said, ripping his wrist from Faie's grip.

"Get off the bed and away from him Doom, I'm not scared to rip you off myself," Thire said angrily. Doom rolled his eyes but did as asked, gently slipping off the bed. Thorn clung to him slightly but he managed to slip out, knowing it would be better for Thire to be there rather than himself.

"What do you mean you aren't his vod'ika? It's obvious you two are close, does he know you don't consider yourself his vod'ika," Faie asked with a frown. Thire glared at him but didn't respond, instead climbing into the bed and tugging Thorn into his arms. He glanced down, analysing him quickly. Thorn's eyes were still half open but he was staring blankly at the wall. It was a good sign because it meant he wasn't too far gone, he could be brought back without medical intervention. He bundled up Thorn tightly, wrapping his arms around his chest and squeezing firmly, not enough to restrict breathing but enough to be a grounding presence. He nuzzled his head against Thorn's, nosing gently behind his ear and begun whispering sweet words of encouragement and reminders that he was safe and wouldn't be harmed. Doom watched closely, taking in Thire's actions and noting down in his head what Thire was doing. They were all quiet just watching curiously as Thire continued doing what he was doing until eventually, Thorn twitched. He breathed out long and deep before blinking more clarity into his eyes. His eyebrows furrowed and he shifted, glancing back to see who was behind him.

"Thire," he breathed out.

"I'm here, we're all safe," Thire said gently.

"'at happened," Thorn mumbled groggily, shifting so he was on his other side, curled up and facing Thire.

"You went to your happy place, it's okay," Thire said softly, brushing Thorn's hair back delicately.

"Mmm. You 'kay 'd'ika," Thorn asked quietly. Faie stiffened as he understood what Thorn was saying and realised what Thire meant when he said he wasn't Thorn's vod'ika. He quickly but quietly started ushering the others towards the doorway. There was some protest but he cut them off with a look and soon they were all standing outside the room.

"What was that for," Doom asked.

"If any of you want to keep a relationship with Thorn, you will not ever touch Thire," Faie said firmly.

"Oh come on, I wasn't even going to hit him that ha-."

"Thorn called Thire his ad'ika, that's what he was mumbling in there. That's what Thire meant when he said he wasn't his vod'ika," Faie said, cutting Neyo off. They all stayed silent at that, even Bacara who knew what it meant.

"I did not see that one coming," Neyo said quietly after about 20 seconds of silence.

"Yeah, well clearly we've all missed a lot. We need to wait for Thorn to come to us okay. Respect his wishes until he feels up to seeking us out. Just send him a short message letting him know you would like to talk to him whenever he is ready but do not harass him about it," Faie said firmly.

"Does that mean we're technically ba'vodu," Doom asked and Bacara huffed.

"We aren't even technically Mandalorian, why does everyone use that stupid language," he said.

"Bacara, shut up. Doom, I mean technically I guess but you saw Thire in there, he hates our guts. Like the kid attacked Bacara and no one attacks Bacara," Faie pointed out.

"It was a good swing, he's been taught well," Bacara said with a thoughtful nod.

"Only you would be impressed when someone punched you," Faie said with a sigh.

"For now, let's just give him some space. I need to go find my Generals so we can talk," Doom said.

"Right. We should all do that. Try to find out what happening now. Message with any information you manage to get and we will all cross reference," Faie said. They all nodded before splitting up to head towards their respective barracks.

~~~~~
"So, who would like to catch me up on what's been going on," Ponds asked as he looked around the room. Wolffe was lounging on the couch, Cody was leaning stiffly against the wall while Bly and Fox were sitting next to each other on the desk. Ponds himself was sitting on a chair he had pulled out, facing the others.
"You already know what's been going on," Fox said quietly.
"Can you take your helmet off so I can see your face. I don't like talking to your helmet," Ponds said. Fox hesitated before tugging it off and placing it beside him, looking down at the ground instead.
"Right. So why exactly was Stone going off on Cody in the Command chat," Ponds asked.
"Cos Cody was a di'kut," Wolffe said with a frown.
"Let's at least be civil with this please. I've been away for a bit so I don't know what's going on," Ponds said. Fox frowned in confusion and glanced up.
"So you don't know I was named dar'vod for shooting Fives," Fox asked.
"Well no, I know about that. I saw Cody's messages," Ponds said. Fox stiffened slightly and glanced back down. Right, Ponds knows and he doesn't care. Or maybe he does, maybe he thinks Cody is right and he should be dar'vod. That's what he had tried to tell Wolffe and then Bly but they said Cody was wrong. Maybe they were really just pitying him.
"There's not much else to know," he said quietly.
"Well obviously there is otherwise I wouldn't be learning from an official group chat that Rex apparently almost killed you," Ponds said.
"Not apparently, he very nearly did. I investigated what was happening with Guard after what happened with Fives because I didn't believe Fox would ever just randomly shoot a vod. I continued to spend time with him and then Cody and Rex found out. They came to confront us which happened directly after Fox had been tentatively discharged from the medical bay after Palpatine almost killed him. Well actually, he did technically kill him because Helix had to use an electro-staff to restart Fox's heart a couple times. I told them to leave but they were screaming at Fox being dar'vod and how could I spend time with him after how horrible he was. I tried to protect him because he was still badly hurt but Cody held me back and allowed Rex to attack him. Rex ended up punching him in the side of the head and given how weak he already was, he couldn't defend himself or stop himself from falling so he clipped the side of his head on the desk and cracked his skull open," Wolffe said and the room went dead silent.
"You didn't, you d-didn't tell me all those details Wolffe," Bly whispered after a few seconds. Wolffe didn't reply and Bly's head shot up to Cody who was looking at Fox sadly. Bly shot up and rushed to Cody, grabbing the front of his armour and smashing him back into the wall.
"What the kark is wrong with you, that's our vod'ika," he yelled angrily before Ponds grabbed him and ripped him away.
"Enough," Ponds said.
"Don't touch me," Bly yelled, shoving Ponds away.
"Then calm down," Ponds said firmly.
"No, who put you in charge? Huh? Just because you're the eldest," Bly snapped.
"I am sick of the blatant favouritism. Fox is our batch baby, he is our youngest, not Rex. Rex is our adoptive CT, sure, whatever but Fox still matters and kark you Cody for always picking Rex," Bly spat angrily.
"I didn't know what was happening Bly. It was bad from where I was looking okay. I know now that I was wrong but he shot Fives and Rex was distraught, what was I supposed to do," Cody asked as he pushed himself off the wall.
"Stay out of it, that is what you were supposed to do. Comfort Rex if you wanted to so badly but don't go and attack your vod'ika. Don't stop Wolffe so Fox could get hurt. What kind of ori'vod does that," Bly asked.
"Okay, I know we're all upset but Bly you need to calm down," Ponds said.
"Oh really? Cos last time I checked, you don't look upset at all. You are standing here all high and mighty but where have you been lately? When is the last time you talked to Fox? Did you even try to reach out after what Cody said? No, you didn't? Have you told Fox that you don't consider him dar'vod? No, you haven't. Have you gone up to him recently, tried to talk to him, let him know you were there for him," Bly said angrily.
"No, I've been busy bu-."
"You've been busy? That's your excuse? I HAD TO BREAK A DOOR DOWN TO GET INTO A SENATORS ROOM TO FIND FOX UNDRESSED ON THE BED. I HAD TO LISTEN TO A SENATOR TELL ME TO GET MY FUN ELSEWHERE, TELLING ME HE WAS HAVING HIS FUN TO CELEBRATE WHILE TRYING TO RAPE MY VOD'IKA," Bly screamed before he broke down into sobs. Wolffe jumped over and hugged him tightly Bly broke down and Cody looked away at the wall as he felt his own tears begin sliding down his face.
"My v-vod'ika. I k-keep seeing it," Bly whimpered, curling up in Wolffe's arms as he held him tighter.
"I'm s-sorry," Cody cried out as the tears fell quicker and he curled in on himself. Ponds rushed over quickly and pulled him into a hug, his own eyes watering as he thought about what Bly had said.
"I-I'm sorry. I d-didn't know. I'm so s-sorry," Cody cried, sliding to the ground and taking Ponds with him. Ponds held him tighter, sighing as he rubbed his back gently. He wasn't happy with what Cody did but it's obvious Cody was just blinded with everything and was feeling guilty for what had happened.
"Bly'ika, you need to breath for me okay, try to take a breath or you're going to hyperventilate," Wolffe said gently, trying to calm down Bly's sobs.
"I can't," Bly cried out. Wolffe let out a low growl and tugged Bly closer, shifting so his head was tucked into his neck. He then started to rhythmically tap out his own heartbeat onto Bly's armour. It took a few minutes but eventually Bly managed to calm his breathing, just listening to Wolffe's tapping.
"I'm so sorry," Cody whispered again, glancing tearfully at Bly who turned his head from Wolffe's hold.
"Why are you apologising to me, apologise to Fox," Bly said with a sniffle. Cody nodded and looked up before glancing around the room with a frown.
"Where is Fox," he asked quickly as he straightened out. Everyone shot up quickly and looked around the room but there was no sign of the youngest, he had slipped out without them even knowing.
~~~~~

Fox walked quickly through the halls, trying to get his breathing under control. He had put his helmet back on to make sure if he went past someone they wouldn't be able to see his tears. His heart was racing and he had to bite his lip to try to muffle his sobs. His body felt cold and uncomfortable, a feeling of dread rushing through him that he couldn't seem to get rid of. He just needs to go, to get out and get as far away as he could. All he is, is a burden to everyone, to all his brothers. The Guard don't need him, in fact they're probably better off without him, safer. He needs to get away from them so he can't drag them down as well. His batch is arguing all because of him, because he tried to kill a vod and received the consequences of that. Cody had every right to name him dar'vod and Rex had every right to attack him for what he did. In fact Rex probably should have kil-.

"Shit, sorry." Fox went down in a crumpled heap along with someone else as they turned the corner into each other. Fox tried to keep his breathing under control but he had been caught off-guard so a sob slipped out before he could stop it.

"Fox." Fox looked up and was able to place the distinctive armour being Commander Faie's.

"M'okay," he mumbled out as he quickly pushed himself to his feet. He tried to hurry off but Faie's hand shot out and grabbed his wrist, not squeezing too hard to be restrictive but enough to stop him from rushing off.

"Fox, where are you going," Faie asked gently as he stepped closer.

"I n-need to l-leave," Fox stuttered out.

"Okay. Okay, but first of all why don't we help you calm down first and then you can go," Faie said, noting to himself that there's no way he is letting Fox go anywhere in this state. He was confused as to what exactly had happened because Fox was supposed to be with his batchmates, not wandering the GAR barrack halls alone and crying.

"Come on, come with me," Faie said, making sure to keep his voice soft.

"I don't-. I sh-shouldn't," Fox said, shaking his head. He can't bring Faie down too, he's Thorn's batchmate.

"You can. Come on, it's just for us to sit somewhere quiet. We can just try to relax a bit after how hectic everything has been," Faie said, giving a light tug to Fox's wrist. Fox moved slowly, trailing after him as he begun to lead him down the hall. He took Fox over to an old supply cupboard and slipped inside. It wasn't very big but it had a corner that you could turn into and sit down with old boxes. He guided Fox over and sat him down before sitting down himself and letting go of Fox's wrist. Fox immediately curled up, tugging his knees to his chest and wrapping his arms around them while he buried his helmet into his knees. Faie glanced at him, letting out a quiet sigh as he saw Fox's shoulders shaking but there was no sound.

"Hey, Fox, I don't want you to hyperventilate so can I take your helmet off," he asked gently. Fox lifted his head and ripped off his helmet, chucking it to the side before burying his head back into his knees. Faie could hear the small sobs now and realised Fox had most likely muted his helmet to block out his cries. He shuffled forwards and grabbed Fox's helmet, righting it up and placing it gently on the floor out of the way. Fox had a tight grip on his legs, squeezing it tightly as if trying to make himself as small as possible. Faie desperately wanted to wrap him up in a tight hug but he remembered Thorn's words from earlier, remembered the look in his eyes as he recounted how the Senators had forced him into thing, because they couldn't say no.

"You can say no, or just say nothing and I will take it as a no. But if you're comfortable with it, I would like to give you a hug," Faie said quietly. Fox didn't react to his words so he didn't push and instead just leant back against the boxes from where he was seated beside Fox. It was quiet for a minute or two apart from Fox's sobs, Faie just sitting there to give him some quiet company and make sure he wouldn't hurt himself. Eventually though, Fox shifted and shuffled closer, moving his head from his knees to instead rest on Faie's shoulder. Faie turned his head and glanced at Fox but he wasn't looking at him so he just stayed how he was apart from moving his hand onto his own knee, holding it palm up just as an invitation if Fox wanted.

"You're okay, you're safe," Faie said softly. Fox shifted slightly and Faie let out a breath as he felt Fox's hand slip into his own.

"It's okay," he whispered, giving the hand a light squeeze and dropping his head to rest on Fox's gently. It took another few minutes for Fox's sobs to die down and his body to stop shaking.

"You still awake or did you wear yourself out," Faie asked.

"Awake," Fox replied quietly.

"Do you want to talk about it," Faie asked gently.

"Not really," Fox replied. He really did not want talk about how he just broke down and cried on Faie shoulder. Not at all, thank you very much.

"Okay. But if you do want to talk, I'm here," Faie said and Fox was surprised.

"You do realise we barely know each other right? Our only common denominator is Thorn," Fox pointed out.

"I mean we're both clones, we're both Commanders-."

"That's not what I meant," Fox said with a sigh.

"I know," Faie replied simply.

"I should go," Fox said quietly but he didn't make any movement to get up.

"Go where," Faie asked.

"Anywhere, just away from here, away from everyone so I can't hurt them," Fox said. Faie glanced down at him but didn't move, only gave his hand a light squeeze.

"You aren't hurting anyone," Fair said slowly.

"I have. I've hurt so many people," Fox whispered.

"How have you hurt them," Faie asked.

"I shot Fives and almost killed him. I've been taking away my men's rations, continually cutting them down. I let Thorn take the brunt of the heat from the Senators, let my men get hurt over and over again by them," Fox said, his hand clenching slightly.

"That's not your fault Fox. I read the report that was sent out. You were under influence of an inhibitor chip with Fives, and yet you somehow managed not to kill him. I would say that means you saved his life. You had a no win situation with the rations, that's not on you, that's on Palpatine and the others even said they would have chosen the same way. You were protecting us on the frontlines because all you've ever been doing is trying to protect everybody you could. And I'm pretty sure the reason why Thorn took the reins with the Senators is because you were busy being tortured and abused by a Sith lord," Faie listed. Fox sighed. Faie didn't understand. He didn't face what they did so he couldn't be hurt by it, didn't realise how bad of a Commander Fox really was.

"They didn't deserve it. And I don't deserve them. They should have a better Commander, one that will protect them," Fox said quietly.

"You did protect them. You protected them as best as you possibly could with the resources you were given. So tough luck, they're stuck with you," Faie said.

"But they don't have to be. If I'm dead, then it goes to Thorn and Thorn is a much better Commander than I am," Fox said. His words made Faie feel a little uneasy so he leaned himself a bit more firmly against Fox's side.

"Thorn is a good Commander but you're just as good if not better. You're great for the role and you're not dying anytime soon okay," Faie said firmly.

"Maybe I should though," Fox said quietly.

"Should what," Faie asked worriedly.

"Die. I could find a close rooftop," Fox whispered and Faie's heart stopped, his voice caught in his throat.

"Everyone would be so much better with me gone. My batch is arguing because of me, because I'm horrible and I'm dar'vod. Thorn's hurting, so are Stone and Hound. And my ad'ika's they're hurting as well. Everyone around me is hurting because of me," Fox said. Faie immediately turned and pulled Fox into his arms, holding him tightly. Fox's arms came up to wrap around him, clinging to him tightly as if he was the only thing keeping him grounded, keeping him alive. Which, Faie realised with a jolt, could very much be true.
