Chapter 10
Trigger Warning
Attempted Rape-Noncon
"GET UP. ALL THREE OF YOU GET UP!" Thorn, Fox and Wolffe all jolted awake, sitting up in the bed quickly and hitting their heads on the bunk above them.
"Shit Thire, did you have to scare us like that," Thorn asked as he noticed who was in the doorway.
"I think I just gave myself another concussion," Fox said with a wince as he dropped his head onto Thorn's shoulder. He was a little confused how Thorn got there but figured he crawled in at some point after his shift.
"I'm sorry, what part of get up do you all not understand," Thire said quickly. Fox frowned, noticing how pale Thire was. He quickly crawled over Wolffe and stood up.
"What's wrong? What happened," he asked quickly. He scanned his eyes over Thire, searching for any sign of injury like blood. He couldn't see anything but their armour is red so blood can sometimes blend in.
"Palpatine is dead." The whole room froze and Fox's throat went dry, his mind going slightly fuzzy.
"Wh-What," he croaked out.
"The Jedi council stormed the senate yesterday and confronted him. Apparently Fives remembered what the shrivelled raisin had flaunted to him, something to do with his evil plan and he managed to convince the Jedi," Thire explained. Fox nodded slowly, stumbling back slightly and sitting down, feeling a little light-headed. Wolffe frowned and quickly wrapped an arm around Fox's waist, noticing how he was swaying slightly.
"Buir," Thire asked slowly as he saw the faraway look in Fox's eyes. Fox didn't reply but a few seconds later, he went limp in Wolffe's arms.
"Kark," Wolffe gasped, tightening his hold and tugging Fox back so he wouldn't fall. Thorn moved over and helped Wolffe lay Fox down safely.
"He's actually dead," Thorn asked Thire.
"Yeah, Stone and Hound just stopped by and told me. They tried to contact Fox but he never replied. Although I can see why now," Thire said, glancing at the three of them on the bed with a small smile. Wolffe frowned guiltily as he distinctly remembered muting Fox's comm the night before so he wouldn't be disturbed.
"Ah, that might be my fault. I actually turned his comm onto mute," Wolffe admitted.
"You did what," Thorn exclaimed.
"What? Obviously I didn't know the Chancellor was going to kark it. He looked like shebs so I wanted him to get as much sleep as possible," Wolffe said.
"I appreciate you trying to help him and you really did help, he's slept for almost six hours which is unheard of. But he's also the Marshall Commander of the Coruscant Guard and in charge of us. He does a lot, things not even us other Commanders know about. We hate it and we've tried to lessen his burden but he won't let us. He does everything he can to keep us safe, even though it's quite literally not possible in our situation. He needs to have his comm on in case there is an emergency or he gets summoned by someone," Thorn explained. Wolffe frowned and shifted his hand to run his fingers through Fox's curls.
"But that's over now? Right? Palpatine is dead so everything is going to be okay for you guys," Wolffe said, the others letting out scoffs.
"It doesn't work like that Wolffe," Fox said quietly, slowly pushing himself up.
"You okay," Wolffe asked worriedly.
"I'm fine, just got caught off-guard. Was not expecting to hear that when I woke up this morning," Fox said, grabbing and squeezing Wolffe's hand gently.
"I need to go though and so does Thorn. Things are going to get a whole lot worse so we need all Commanders on patrol," Fox said and Wolffe was confused.
"What do you mean things are going to get worse? How can things get any worse than they already are? I-It should get better right," he said quickly, worriedly. Things were already far worse than they should be, how can they continue to even more worse.
"The Supreme Chancellor of the Republic, the most important person in the entire Republic is dead. The Senators will either be scared, angry or greedy and hoping to be voted as interim Chancellor. Either way, it'll be taken out on the Guard and a lot of them will be wanting to let off some steam," Fox explained and Wolffe felt bile rise in his throat.
"And if word gets out about this to those in the lower levels, the crime will most likely rise and they will get bolder. If the Chancellor was able to get murdered in his own office, then it basically means the security is lacking. Everyone already hates Clones, so that will also be taken out on us," Fox finished.
"That, that's not right. There has to be something we can do. What about talk to the Jedi? They will definitely help. I mean, as soon as they heard Palpatine was a Sith, they went after him," Wolffe said quickly. He can't let the Guard get hurt any worse than they already have been.
"The Jedi did that because they've been looking for the Sith. But also, how did you guys even know about him being a Sith," Fox asked with a frown. He always made sure to never tell any of his men that Palpatine was the Sith lord, no matter how many times they asked. If he had, he would've been ordered to kill them and that would've killed him too. He could never risk it, nothing would be worth risking the safety of his Vod'ika.
"It's not hard to put the pieces together Fox. Also Stone and Helix told Wolffe I think," Thire said.
"Oh, right," Fox said with a nod.
"We figured he probably threatened us or something to keep you in line," Thire added and Fox just nodded.
"Head down to the prisons and take whoever isn't on shift but has gotten enough sleep to properly function," Fox instructed Thire. Thire frowned and clenched his fist closed tightly behind his back.
"I can help you guys in the senate. I-."
"You will do as I just ordered you to do Commander," Fox said firmly.
"Fox, Buir, I c-."
"Thire," Thorn said sternly. Thire glanced between them helplessly before growling in frustration and leaving the room.
"He's going to be pissed later," Thorn said with a sigh.
"As long as he is in the safer of two dangers, I couldn't care less," Fox said, going over to his armour to start putting it on. It hurts him. Times like this where he has to pull rank and be stern with Thire. He does it to keep him safe and to protect him but it Thire never sees it that way. He's glad Thorn cut in then as he probably would've crumbled with Thire pleading and calling him Buir. But they can't, they need to keep Thire away from the Senators grubby hands as much as possible. He's a Commander and therefor has a bigger target on his back.
"We need to get to the senate quickly, make sure to keep things in order," Fox said with a sigh. Thorn nodded and slipped off the bed, putting his armour on as well. Wolffe remained on the bed, his hands clenched in the sheets as he watched his little brothers prepare themselves to be violated. Enough is enough.
"I'm coming with you," he said firmly, leaving no room for argument as he stood up and followed the two Guard Commanders, putting his armour on quickly and efficiently. Both Fox and Thorn froze, Fox's blood turning to ice. He tried not to picture Wolffe being dragged into the room without having the option to defend himself. Of seeing the fire in Wolffe's eyes die out.
"Absolutely not," Fox said as he got over the shock.
"I wasn't asking," Wolffe said, strapping up his chest plate. Thorn winced and continued what he was doing when he saw Fox's eyes narrow in anger.
"Good. Then we're in agreement. You are not coming," Fox said icily as he finished getting ready.
"No. I'm not asking, I'm just going," Wolffe said stubbornly. Thorn rolled his eyes, coming to the realisation that stubbornness must be the batches trait.
"Look Commander, I don't have time to argue with you. As a Marshall Commander, I have a higher rank and I am ordering you to stay here," Fox said firmly. He hates pulling rank but he will do it to protect those he cares for. Wolffe however, frowned in annoyance at Fox, his Vod'ika, trying to pull rank over him. Trying.
"Then Marshall Commander, you will have to have me court marshalled for insubordination because there's no way I'm going to let you two go without a fight," Wolffe said defiantly.
"Fox, we need to go. We do not have the time for this," Thorn said. He didn't want to interrupt but if he didn't, the two of them will just continue going back and forth for ages. Fox glared at Wolffe angrily for a couple of seconds before breathing out in resignation.
"You can come but you have to follow these rules," Fox said quickly, not liking it but knowing they had wasted enough time already. Wolffe frowned but nodded for him to continue.
"Your helmet stays on, no matter what. You do not speak to anyone even if they talk to you, you will allow me to do the talking. If a Senator requests private time with me, you will leave and find a different Guard patro-."
"No! I am not leaving you like that Fox'ika. I'm not going to walk away while some asshole violates you," Wolffe said angrily.
"Ori'vod, you have to. I have done this before, many times. I know the drill and I am used to it. If you don't do what I said, then they will go to one of my other men and I don't want that. It's better me than them," Fox said quietly.
"I-I can't Fox. I can't leave knowing what's going to happen to you. A-And Thorn, I can't, I won't be th-there," Wolffe said shakily. He reached out and grabbed Thorn's wrist, tugging him to his side, tucking him under his arm. Thorn tried not to, but he melted heavily against Wolffe's side. He couldn't help it, he's just not used to the comfort of someone older outside of Fox and Stone. He was the youngest of his batch but they had all stopped talking to him quite early in the war.
"Wolffe, I need you to listen to me. Gedet'ye. There is nothing you and I can do about it right now. Your General is coming and I will talk to him and maybe things will change but right now, they won't. I need you to not make things worse. I am begging you. Gedet'ye," Fox pleaded. Wolffe frowned angrily, clenching his jaw tightly. He wasn't angry at Fox. No, it wasn't his fault. He was angry at everyone else who had put the Guard in this position. He was angry at himself. His comm buzzed suddenly and he let go of Thorn to look at it.
Buir: We have arrived on Coruscant. The Jedi Council has called an Emergency meeting due to recent events that I have been asked to attend. It appears Chancellor Palpatine was the Sith Lord we have been searching for and has now perished.
Wolffe's mind went through multiple different scenarios before stopping on one specific one. It's a long shot but it is worth it.
"I won't follow you. If I was with you and saw it, I wouldn't be able to control myself," he said quietly. Fox let out a breath of relief and strode forwards, hugging Wolffe tightly. He didn't want his last batchmate to see what things he was forced to do in the senate. He shuddered to think what Wolffe would think of him if he did see it. Hearing about it is a lot different than actually seeing it.
"We'll be okay. I'll meet you back here sometime tomorrow once things calm down a bit," Fox promised as he pulled away.
"I'm going to help you, all of you," Wolffe promised.
"I know you will," Fox said with a sad smile. He turned and nodded to Thorn and they both headed over to the doorway.
"Fox, Thorn," Wolffe called out, making them turn back to him.
"K'oyacyi," Wolffe said softly.
"We will," Fox said with a nod before putting his helmet on and stepping out into the halls.
"Come on, we need to move quickly. You need to join Stone on the East Wing and I'll head to the West Wing where Hound is. There is no need to panic about anything right now so just try to keep the Vod'ike calm. This is just another day for us, only with slightly more emotionally affected people. Stick to the rules and we can all get through this alive," Fox said as they walked quickly. Loch, who was sitting at the front desk, looked up as they walked past.
"All four Commanders are on duty right now Loch. If anyone asks for us, they will have to come back later because we are unavailable," Fox instructed.
"Yes Sir," Loch replied immediately. Thorn and Fox left the barracks and made their way over to the hanger where the speeders were stored. When they got to them, Fox stopped and grabbed Thorn's wrist, turning him around to face himself. He let go of Thorn's wrist to instead gently grab the back of his neck and pull him into a keldable.
"Look after yourself and stay safe. If it, if it gets too much then comm me," he whispered.
"I know. I'll see you tomorrow alright. Don't stress about me or the others, just focus on the men in your wing. West Wing has the worst of the bunch as well, so just focus on yourself," Thorn said, mimicking Fox's hold on himself.
"See you on the other side Vod'ika," Fox said, patting the back of Thorn's neck before pulling away. They both got onto speeders and sped off. Fox decided that certain circumstances require the law to be broken and this is one of them. He sped up above the legal limit and weaved between traffic, needing to get to the senate as quickly as possible.
He was there within five minutes and parked the speeder before jumping off. He paused and took a deep breath, drawing himself into a suitable position. His back straight, his arms tucked by his side and his head held high. They don't need any mistakes today, not when people will most certainly be watching. He strode into the building, nodding to the two Guard out the front. He headed inside and went to the left, making his way through the halls.
"Commander." Fox turned at the voice and saw two troopers in the hall, no natborns in sight.
"How's it going so far Skip," he asked as he made his way over to them.
"It's all good for us over here at the moment Sir. Commander Stone came by a couple of hours ago and told Winter and I we had to stay on this level. Has something happened," Skip asked. Fox mentally praised Stone for working to get the younger troopers away from the worst of things straight away.
"The Chancellor has passed away so we're just making sure to have things locked down right now," Fox explained. This is something he won't keep from his troopers as they need to know to be vigilant for their safety. Skip and Winter's helmets both turned to each other before going back to Fox.
"Will you be okay Ori'vod," Winter asked quietly. Fox quickly glanced around the halls to make sure the coast was clear before stepping forwards. He placed a hand on each of their shoulders and squeezed them gently in reassurance.
"I will be fine Vod'ika, you just look after yourselves," he said firmly. Skip straightened up and nodded quickly.
"We will Sir. I'll keep an eye on Win'ika as well," he said. Fox smiled fondly under his helmet and gave Skip's shoulder a pat before pulling back. The two troopers saluted before continuing on their way. Fox watched them turn the corner before he started walking quickly through the halls as well.
He passed by a few more Guard pairs, checking in on them if there was no one around, otherwise just simply giving them a head nod. It was only another ten minutes later when he came across the first incident which just so happened to be Hound. It is rare for Hound to have a shift in the senate as he stays with the other Massif handlers but in times like this, they need all hands on deck. Fox assessed the situation quickly as he calmly made his way over. He needs to be the perfect soldier right now. It wasn't even a Senator that was yelling at Hound, it was just an entitled aide but that didn't change anything for them. Hound was standing at perfect parades rest, his back straight and arms held behind his back. He wasn't moving, not even a flinch as the aide yelled at him, poking a finger in front of his helmet.
"Sir, is there something I might be able to help you with," he asked as he stopped with Hound and the aide in front of him. Hound remained almost exactly how he was standing before but as a vod who knows him well, Fox could see a slight exhale of relief come from him. The aide however, spun around to face Fox, his face red with anger.
"Which meat droid are you," he spat.
"I am CC-1010, Sir," Fox replied calmly, standing at parades rest like Hound. The aides face changed into something more smug.
"CC-1010, you're a Commander aren't you," the aide asked.
"That is correct, Sir," Fox replied with a nod.
"Good. Seeing as you are in charge of this incompetent meat droid, you can take the punishment. Take off your helmet," the aide said. Fox did as instructed, removing his helmet before holding it by his side under his arm.
"Good. Now you, the incompetent one. I want you to punch him," the aide said, clicking his fingers for Hound's attention. Fox saw the way Hound stiffened and his heart broke for him. Despite everything, it is not often anyone uses them as punishment against each other.
"Ex-Excuse me," Hound stuttered out in shock and Fox held back a wince.
"I said, punch him," the aide said, starting to get agitated.
"Sergeant," Fox said sternly. Hound clenched his fist angrily, desperately wanting to knock out the pathetic natborns in front of him but he knew he couldn't.
He relaxed his hand, keeping it in a fist but loosening it so it wouldn't hurt Fox as much. Fox turned to him and gave a slight nod of encouragement. Hound let out a deep breath before pulling his arm back and swinging it forwards. It hit the bottom of Fox's chin and snapped his head to the side. Hound winced even though he knew he held back a lot. It still would've though, because he just punched his Ori'vod in the face. Fox held back a groan, knowing the aide wouldn't be satisfied with the weak punch Hound just threw.
"You call that a punch? Hit him again, harder," the aide said. Hound looked at Fox with wide eyes, glad his helmet was still on. Fox just looked back with kindness and understanding in his own eyes.
"Ni ceta," Hound whispered to himself as he drew his arm back and punched Fox again. He was still holding back but it was harder this time, causing Fox to stumble slightly before he caught himself.
"Harder," the aide said and Hound felt his eyes start to water, refusing to punch Fox a third time.
"Sergeant, you are to do as the aide says and punch me with full strength. It is punishment for my shortcomings in training the men as stated in section 143," Fox said, hoping Hound would get the message. Hound quickly flicked a switch on his vambrace, muting the inside of his helmet to the outside as a choked sob escaped his lips. 143. It was a stupid phrase Thire had heard and been so excited about using to joke around and it had caught on with others. I love you.
"Do it meat droid. I am beginning to lose my patience," the aide snapped. Hound moved quickly, closing his eyes at the last second so he wouldn't have to see it but he still heard the sickening crunch as his fist connected with Fox's face and then the thump of his body hitting the floor after.
Fox forced himself not to glare as the aide bounced up and down and clapped happily with a large grin taking over his face. He pressed his hands to the floor and pushed himself up, standing straight and ignoring the ache in his jaw.
"Again, again," the aide said. Hound's fist connected with Fox's jaw again and he hit the floor, again.
"Another one," the aide said and Fox wasn't even able to stand properly before the next punch sent him sprawled on the floor, the taste of blood in his mouth. He didn't bother trying to stand this time, partially because he was hoping the aide would get bored and move on but also partially because he was a bit dazed.
"Get up you useless Clone," the aide said and Fox felt a kick to his side, making him grit his teeth but he still didn't move.
"Ugh, this is boring now," the aide huffed and Fox heard footsteps moving away. Once the footsteps were gone, there was a bang and Fox was pulled up onto a seated position beside Hound who was on his knees.
"F-Fox. Ori'vod. Ni ceta, ni ceta. Ni-."
"Udesii Hound'ika. Udesii," Fox said softly. Hound shook his head quickly and reached up to unlatch his helmet but Fox caught his wrist.
"Don't. Leave your helmet on, we aren't in the barracks," Fox said quickly.
"I'm sorry," Hound choked out, shakily using his gloved hand to wipe some of the blood from the corner of Fox's mouth.
"It's okay, I promise. I'm so glad you did that Hound'ika, so glad you listened to me. If you didn't, he would have done something worse, like put in for a decommissioning," Fox said gently.
"You can't be decommissioned," Hound said quietly. Fox frowned and cupped Hound's helmet, leaning him down into a keldable.
"No, but you can and that is a thousand times worse than what just happened. Ni kar'tayli gar darasuum ner Hound'ika," Fox whispered and Hound let out a sob.
"I would wipe your tears if I could but this isn't the time or place. I need you to take a deep breath and push this to the back of your mind for now. Once things have calmed down a bit and we can take a break, I will cuddle the shit out of you but right now we both have to move on," Fox said.
"I know," Hound said, drawing in a shaky breath. He reached out and delicately cupped Fox's face, gently wiping the blood from his mouth and eyebrow where the skin had split open. He then reached out and grabbed Fox's helmet off the ground, handing it back to him. Fox put it on before they both stood, Fox stretching out his neck.
"Sorry," Hound said quietly.
"Stop apologising, there's nothing for me to forgive. The only person in the wrong was the aide," Fox said.
"I know, I just needed to say it again," Hound said and Fox nodded.
"What even happened," Fox asked curiously.
"Oh. He was asking for some weird herbal tea that I've never heard of so I told him that and I couldn't get it for him. Then he blew up," Hound said and Fox snorted at the absurdity.
"Right, that's a new one," he said.
"Yeah. We should probably keep patrolling. Thank you," Hound said.
"Look after yourself and don't think about it too much," Fox said, patting Hound's shoulder. Hound nodded, shook himself out and straightened up before walking down the hall. Fox waited until he was out of sight before sagging and flexing his jaw. Hound has a very strong punch and that will certainly bruise. He pushed the pain to the back of his mind and kept walking. Helix can have a look at it at some point in the future. He got to the staircase and walked up quickly, heading to the next floor. This one was more busy with Guard and natborns in the halls. Fox scanned from left to right as he walked, looking out for anything that he might need to step in for. There were a lot of insults thrown, a few shoves but nothing his men couldn't handle.
"Oh, oh Commander Fox," Fox stopped and turned to the right to see a familiar Pantorian walking over.
"Senator Chuchi," he said, bowing his head. She is probably the only Senator that he feels even remotely comfortable with and can trust not to hurt the Guard. She's just a kid thrust into an influential role in a war she shouldn't be apart of.
"I was hoping I would run into you Commander. I heard what happened, that the Chancellor has passed away. I know this must cause a lot of stress for the Guard and especially you as the Marshall Commander so I made something for you," she said. Fox glanced around to make sure there wasn't anyone paying close attention.
"Thank you Senator, I appreciate you thinking of me. What did you make," he asked. She quickly tugged something off her wrist and held it out.
"It's a bracelet. It's got stones of different meanings in it. This one symbolises strength, this is for patience, then courage, this is just for luck and this last one is supposed to inspire calmness and happy days," Senator Chuchi said happily. Fox smiled behind his helmet, finding her actions to be very touching though he would never admit that to anyone. It was very random but sweet and nothing like how most other Senators would treat him, a mere Clone.
"It's lovely Senator Chuchi," he said.
"Here, hold out your arm and I'll put it on. I made it red so it matches your uniform," she said cheerfully. Fox refrained from telling the kid he would likely get punished for wearing such a thing, not when she seemed so excited. Instead he dutifully held up his arm and allowed her to slip it onto his wrist.
"There. Now you shall have a lovely day," she said with a smile.
"I don't doubt it Senator," he said, making her eyes light up even more, if possible.
"Take care Commander," she said sweetly.
"You too Senator," he said, bowing his head and setting off down the hall once again. He finished patrolling that level and went up to the next one. This level was the one to be cautious of and he mentally prepared himself. The halls were completely empty as only certain Guard troopers were cleared to patrol these halls and only every thirty minutes. He walked quietly through the halls, keeping his head down and taking, slow, deep breaths to keep his heart rate calm. He got three quarters of the way down the hall before he heard a door open behind him and he braced himself.
"Oi, you. Come here." He let out a breath and turned around. His breath caught in his throat when he saw it was Senator Reiby. He's a human so not the worst species but he is brutal. Despite that knowledge, he didn't miss a beat and strode forwards, stopping in front of the Senator at parades rest.
"Oh I know you. You're a Commander right," Senator Reiby asked.
"That is correct Sir," Fox replied.
"Even better, you will do nicely. See, the Chancellor went and died today which means there's an opening. One that I have a chance of being chosen to so I thought I might celebrate. Won't you come and join me Clone," Reiby said, stepping to the side and waving to his open door with a smirk. Fox let out a quiet breath before he walked into the room, stopping and standing back in parades rest as he stood in front of the bed at the other end of the room. He heard the door close and the lock slide into place as he let out another shaky breath. It's okay. He will get through this and his Vod'ike won't have to. A hand touched his shoulder and slid slowly down his arm but he didn't move, knowing it would only make things worse.
"It's been a while since I've been with a different Commander. Usually I get the blond one with those stupid angel wings on his helmet," Reiby said. Fox clenched his jaw, ignoring the pain as he forcefully pushed away the images of Thorn that popped into his mind.
"This might be more fun for me though, I can't remember the last time I had you Clone," Reiby said, excitement in his voice. Reiby's hand left Fox's arm and he moved to stand in front of him, eying him up and down.
"Remove your armour," he instructed. Fox let his eyes flutter close, picturing Thorn, Thire and all his other Vod'ike. Better him than them. He worked slowly but efficiently, starting with his helmet and moving down. He was stacking his armour neatly but Reiby kicked it so he just settled for removing it and letting it drop to the ground. The one thing he made sure to take care of was the bracelet Senator Chuchi gave him, slipping it off and placing it into his helmet safely. Once all of his armour was removed and he was left only in his blacks, he stood up straight with his arms by his side.
Senator Reiby eyed him hungrily, his tongue darting out to wet his lips. He stepped forwards and placed his hand on Fox's chest, trailing it down until he got to the bottom of Fox's upper blacks.
"Lift up your arms," he said and Fox did as ordered, letting Reiby lift up his upper blacks and remove them. Reiby let out a whistle as he discarded the blacks to the floor.
"I forgot how ripped you were. Boy am I going to have a great celebration tonight," he said.
"Take off the pants and lay down on the bed," he added. Fox had to force himself to move and not hesitate as he removed his lower blacks, leaving himself in just his boxers. His mind was beginning to feel fuzzy and drift but he focused himself, knowing Reiby was one that preferred having them present. He went to the bed and laid down on his back in the middle, picking a spot on the ceiling to focus his attention on so his mind wouldn't drift. There was a sudden knock on the door and Reiby huffed.
"I'm busy celebrating, go away and bother someone else," he called out. There was some shuffling as Reiby kept moving around but Fox furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. That's odd. Usually if a Senator says to leave, people do.
"I said I am busy. Bugger off and let me have some fun," Reiby yelled out angrily. There was a sudden bang and Fox shot up quickly, his vision blurred and his head spinning a little from how quickly he sat up.
"What the hell! Who do you think y-." Reiby was cut off as there was a flash of blue and he crumpled to the ground. Fox's eyes widened in shock and he blinked quickly to clear his vision.
His eyes drifted up to the three Clones in the doorway and his heart stopped as he recognised the colour and pattern on the armour of the one in the front. The one that he hadn't seen in close to a year.
