Chapter 4: Caught
The bell of the arts and crafts store rang as Soojung enters. She needs to buy some school supplies for her report for her major subject. Her only aim is to buy a ream of bond paper, and as she walk towards the cashier, she suddenly realized that she's in the Drawing section, her eyes suddenly lands on pile of sketch pads. She remembers her sort-of conversation (if you can even call it a conversation) with Sehun few nights ago.
Eyeing the sketchpad skeptically, Soojung grabs one with a plain and boring cover, "Just like him, plain and boring." Soojung whispered to herself.
After she purchased a ream of bond paper, a sketchpad and a marker, Soojung walks out of the store and heads home.

It's a Wednesday and Soojung is currently working on her report at the library when Jongin approaches her after he spotted her alone in the table.
"Hey!" Jongin greets with a smile.
"Hey!" Soojung greets back, smiling as well.
"What's that?"
"Report for my Sociology subject."
"Where's Sehun?"
"I-I don't know," Soojung stutters. "Why you're asking me his whereabouts? You're his bestfriend, not mine."
"Because he's always around you,"
"W-what?!"
"I mean, you guys are neighbors, right?" Soojung sighs and continue writing.
"Hey, umm... are you busy this Friday?" Jongin asks.
"I don't know. If I'll be able to finish my reports then I guess, I'll be free on that day. Why?"
"Nothing, I just want you to take you somewhere." Jongin was quick to explain when Soojung raise her head and eye him skeptically. "I-I mean... I just want to tour you since... you know, you're still kind of new here... and Sehun should be kind enough to do that but he's not, so..."
Soojung narrows her eyes to him, "It's not that I'm making Sehun look bad, no he's a good guy, but I just thought that he should show you around... and I'm actually doing him a favor..."
"But you live on the other side of this town so how could you-"
"I grew up spending most of my time with Sehun so I'm very familiar with his neighborhood."
Soojung thought for awhile before she said yes to him. Jongin smiles so wide as he said, "So, it's a date then."
Although a little hesitant, Soojung nods her head. "I guess there's nothing wrong with it." Soojung thought.

Night came and Soojung was sitting on her bed, back leaning on the pillow that is placed against her headboard, with laptop over her thighs as her hands are rapping the keypad, typing in her report. Sighing, she glances on the other side of her room, looking if a certain someone will open the lights.
It's as if that some deity hears her, the lights from the other's room lightens up, a silhouette of a lanky figure of her neighbor can be seen from her room. Judging from the duffel bag that was tossed on the bed, she's guessing that her neighbor just arrived from the soccer practice. She hasn't seen him played though, "Maybe someday." Soojung thought, still staring at the other's room.
Soojung's eyes widen and cheeks turning into crimson when the silhouette of her neighbor suddenly pulls his shirt off. Gulping, her breath hitched when that certain someone's silhouette suddenly stopped at one corner of the room (where in the silhouette is more visible), giving her a full view of his upper body.
"Meow." The cat's purr suddenly brings her back to reality.
"Be quiet, Katy!" Soojung says as she pats the cat's bum, making the cat purrs even more. "I never knew he has broad shoulders... I guess playing soccer did that to him." Soojung says.
"Meow.." Katy purrs again, laying beside her while slowly swaying her fluffy tail.
"I know! If only you can see all of his fan girls spazz over him..."
"Meoow~"
"Well, his snobby attitude is just a turn off! Not like I like him or something, I mean, I can feel that he's purposely ignoring me... and don't even think I didn't made an effort to talk to him... I did!"
"Meoooww~" the cat purrs and whips its head to the neighbor's room's direction.
"What?! Are you seriously taking his side over me? How could you Katy, how could you?!" Soojung dramatically place her hand over her chest. "I know I'm a geek or a nerd - call me whatever you like, but hey! I loved you with all my heart and yet-"
"Meooowww~~"
"Wow, Katy! Just wow!" Soojung crosses her arms over her chest. Silence followed as she held a little staring contest with Katy, who 'elegantly' blinks her eyes, that made Soojung smile because hey! Winning a staring contest with a cat is something to be, eer... proud of?
Soojung whips her head to look at her neighbor's window again when her jaw drops and eyes widen. Surprised for getting caught red-handed, because right then and there, her neighbor props his hands, supporting his body, as he leans at the window, staring directly at her.
Peeling herself from her pillow as she straightens her body, Soojung clears her throat and pretends as if nothing happened. She bravely looks back at Sehun, but her forehead scrunched when she saw Sehun places his right index finger and twists it against his temple, gesturing that she's crazy.
Soojung narrows her eyes at Sehun, not missing the playful smirk on his lips. Sehun straightens his back as he gets something from his desk. Soojung then finally took notice of her neighbor's body. Sehun is not buff like those guys at the gym, but rather has lean body, and his abs and biceps are just fine. His shoulders are broad and well... lean. His abs are not too flamboyant but Soojung can see that it's there. His chest is not too big nor flat. And oh, did she mentioned his abs?
Soojung is so busy memori- scratch that!, looking at Sehun's body that she didn't noticed Sehun was also eyeing her.
"Enjoying the view?" Sehun wrote. Oh! He flash his sketchpad again to her.
Soojung raised an eyebrow, whispering "As expected. Good thing I bought you!" as she grabs the sketchpad and marker she bought few days ago from the arts and crafts store, that she placed under her bed beforehand.
"What view? Your bony body doesn't count!" Soojung flash her sketchpad.
"Oh? So why are you drooling?" Sehun smirks as he flash her his comeback.
Soojung's hand automatically touch the side of her mouth, then she realizes that she was just tricked when she heard Sehun chuckles. She was in awe that her mouth gapes a little. It was her first time to see or even hear Sehun chuckles in her front.
"You're drooling again." Sehun wrote.
"I am NOT!" Soojung glares at him.
"I see you bought a sketchpad."
"Yes, and you don't have to feel touch. Eew! I didn't buy this for you, FYI!"
"Oh, so you buy it so you can talk to me... is that is? Because, you know, I didn't mention anything about you buying that sketchpad for me." Sehun grins when he saw Soojung flabbergasted.
"What? No! Don't get delusional, Mister!"
"Whatever. Shut your curtain, Miss Jung... unless you want to see me naked."
"YOU COCKY BA- MUSTARD!" Soojung yells as she stands up and close her windows and curtain.
"You're welcome." She heard Sehun yells back, although a little muffled since her window was now closed.
Soojung huffs in annoyance, but a smile managed to creep on her face.
"Meow~" Katy purrs, still laying on Soojung's bed.
"Ugh, stop it Katy... I'm... I'm not blushing!" Soojung says, but her blushing cheeks says otherwise.

On that same night, Jihyo spends her dinner at the Kim's house. The Kim's are generous enough to ask her to stay with them since her parents will be late from work, leaving the girl alone. And as always, Jongdae would always tease her, telling her to just marry Jongin since they spend most of their times together just like normal young couples do, and they bicker constantly just like old couples do.
Of course Jongdae always ends up with a smack on his head from his brother and a little Jujitsu attack from Jihyo.
Mrs. Kim could only shake her head whenever her middle son whines at her because "Kkamjong and Jihyo are being abusive!"
Jihyo bids goodbye and say her thanks to the Kim's, with Jongdae's "don't forget to use protection, guys!" can be heard when the two stepped out of the house.
Jongin will walk Jihyo home (which is 15 minutes away from his). This has been their routine since they were in high school and Jihyo is thankful enough for his thoughtfulness.
"Hey!" Jongin starts as they walking on the sidewalk. "I'm going to meet Soojung this Friday after class."
"Why? I thought she always goes home with Sehunnie." Jihyo said.
"Well... I kind of need to tell her something,"
"Which is...?"
"Umm... I'm going to confess to her."
"What?!" Jihyo halts walking.
Jongin also stops and face her, "I said-"
"No, I heard you, dummy! W-what I mean is... you... y-you like her?" Jihyo asks, shocked with Jongin's sudden revelation.
"Yeah..." Jongin drags the Y while answering, rubbing his neck sheepishly. "I-I mean I've been crushing on her since Day-1 but I just can't tell her since Sehun doesn't like the idea of me asking her on a date-"
"What?!"
"Well it's only natural to asks someone you like on a date, right?"
"What?!"
"Is that the only word you know? You might want to work out on expanding your vocabulary, princess."
Jihyo stops nagging after hearing his pet name for her. Jongin starts calling her princess when they were in high school, since it makes her shut up and he believes Jihyo hates being called girly names, so Jongin uses her pet name whenever he wants her to listen to him instead of nagging (and only Jongin calls her that by the way).
"I really like her and I'm serious about it. It's been awhile since my last relationship and you know I listen to you very well, that is why I didn't date anyone after my last one, right?" Jongin says sincerely.
True. Jongin remains single after his break-up with his- is it third, fourth or fifth... aish, Jihyo doesn't need to re-count.
"Please, princess. I need your support now. Sehunnie's being a brat and he doesn't want to back me up!"
"Maybe there's a reason why he doesn't want to..."
"That's why I need your help, please~" Jongin pulls his saddest pout that he know Jihyo cannot deny.
Jihyo closes her eyes and sigh, "This will be the last time that I'm going to back you up, Kim Jongin, and I swear to god I'm going to kill you with my bare hands if you ask me this again in the future." Jihyo says as she grits her teeth.
"YES! Thank you so much, my princess!" Jongin hugs Jihyo tightly and smile. Jihyo was about to hug him back when Jongin leans back and says, "And I know you won't kill me! Not because you can't, but because you love me!"
A few walks later Jongin was finally waves her goodbye and says his good night, Jongin is now walking his way back home, missing the sadness on Jihyo's eyes as she watch his back until he takes a turn.
