Chapter 3: Something Flutters
Soojung had adjusted to her new environment and managed to earn friends and acquaintances from her other classes. She's also getting used at the random confessions she frequently encounters and still managed to survive college life everyday.
But if there's one thing that Soojung still wasn't get to use is Sehun's indifference towards her. Sure he's not fond of talking to almost everyone, especially to girls (except Jihyo), nor returns his fan girls' Hi's or good morning's but never did he ignores them. He even helped them to answer few problems in Chemistry, so that means he's just aloof to people around him but never a snob.
But with Soojung, Sehun keeps on distancing and ignoring her. Even if they were assigned partners in Chemistry (the only subject they shared together), he would never talk to her unless it was really necessary. If she asks him about his observation with their specimen, either he nods his head or answers her with just an "okay" There are times that Sehun would ask her, which she really appreciated, but it was mostly an open-ended question (but she still appreciates it though).
But what really irks Soojung is that whenever she's trying to talk to Sehun outside Chemistry class, he'd never look at her... or would look elsewhere but her.
"What's your problem?" Soojung would always ask which Sehun would always ignore.
Jongin is the first guy who befriended her amongst Sehun's group of friends. Unlike Sehun, Jongin is more attentive and always have an answer to all of her queries. He would often greets her whenever they cross their paths (which is frequent by the way), or waits for her every morning when she and Sehun arrives at the school's gate.
It wasn't hard to get close with Jongin, but sometimes it feels awkward especially when Sehun keeps an eye over them.

The sun is starting to set on a Friday afternoon, Sehun and Jongin are currently drying their hair after showering. They just finished their soccer practice and the team is currently talking with each other.
"So..." Jongin started, "are you still not in talking terms with Soojung?" Sehun flinched at the mention of the girl's name.
"And you're asking because?"
"Nothing, it's just... I mean, don't you like her?"
"W-what?" Sehun stutters, averting his eyes and opted to put his extra shirt on.
"Well because she's pretty and smart and fun to be with and very simple and-"
"Do you like her?" Sehun asks, not letting Jongin finish his sentence.
"What?"
"I said, do you like her?"
Jongin rubs the back of his neck and smiles sheepishly as he says, "Well, I've been wanting to ask you a favor... to... you know... fucldvbkmphufwhifer..." Jongin whispers the last part (or more likely blabbers) covering his mouth with his towel.
Sehun quirks an eyebrow, not understanding Jongin even one bit.
"What?" Jongin pouts that Sehun rolls his eyes on him.
"Can you add some vowels on it?" He said as he slip his right leg in his pants.
"I said if you could back me up with her." Jongin said as he put on his clean shirt.
"Who?"
"Soojung~" Jongin whines.
"You know that we're not in talking terms, right?"
"But it's only you who didn't want to talk to her!" Sehun then glares at him. "I-I mean you guys are neighbors and-"
"No."
"Please~"
"NO!"
"But Sehunnie, I'm your bestfriend!"
"Still no." And Sehun grabs his duffel bag after he ties his shoes. "Hurry up."
"Se-"
"I don't like repeating myself."
"Tsk, brat!" Jongin whispered as he puts on his pants.
"I heard that." Sehun replied, which made Jongin flinch a little.

After dinner, Sehun went straight to his room and decided to listen to all the CD's he borrowed from Kyungsoo, one of his friend from high school.
He leans on his desk, which is adjacent to his window, while reading the lists of songs when he noticed at the corner of his eye, a moving or rather rolling figure on the bed (which is also somewhat adjacent to his study desk). He cranes his neck to his right and suddenly a familiar figure comes on his view. Jung Soojung.
Yes they're neighbors but Sehun have never thought that Soojung's room is right across from his. "Too cliché." Sehun thought. He placed the CD's down the table and rotate his body to have a full view of Soojung.
Soojung rolls from supine to her tummy, facing his direction as she reads, which he guess is a novel, while petting her cat's head. She still wears those round geeky eyeglasses, her hair is tied in a messy bun, which looks good on her by the way... wait what?
As if sensing that someone is watching her, Soojung suddenly raise her head and looks directly outside her window.
Sehun grabs the CD's once again and scans the song title, pretending he's not looking at her just awhile ago.
Soojung on the other hand stares at the figure at the other side of her window. Her eyes widen when she recognizes him. It was Sehun. She didn't know that their room is just side by side with each other. "Talking about clichés." Soojung thought.
Sehun is sitting on a desk that is adjacent by the window with his right arm resting over his right knee as he held a CD, as if he's a model from Harper's Bazaar magazine.
Soojung might be staring for quite sometime that she almost have an heart attack when Sehun looks straight to her eyes and shows her something.
"Take a picture. It'll last longer." It reads, a sketchpad on his grasp.
"Gosh that was embarrassing!" Soojung thought as she straightens her body and sit at the middle of her bed, closing her book. Indeed she stares for too long that she didn't even noticed Sehun scribbling something awhile ago.
Sehun is scribbling once again and once he's done he shows it to Soojung. "Staring is rude, did you know that?" He's getting fond of that saying, honestly.
Soojung gets a piece of paper and write something before she shows it to the other, "I'm not!" It reads.
Sehun shrugs his shoulder and closes his window before her, which made Soojung irritated and closes her window and curtains with a loud 'hmp!', missing the curve forming at the corner of Sehun's lips as he smiles.
