Chapter 1: The Beginning

Jongin and Sehun are buddies since they were 8. They first met during primary school (since they were classmates) and got closer when they played soccer together for their school's sports fest and from then on, they've become close friends. They got even closer when they discovered that they both shared same interests (being it with playing soccer, computer games, their love for chocolate and fried chicken), they've decided to tag each other as bestfriends. Although they have other friends, they still spend most of their time with each other.

Sure they have lots in common, but they still have their own individuality.

Jongin loves to laze around and hang out with his warm and comfy bed during weekend to sleep, while Sehun is adamant in kicking and tossing the soccer ball, practicing his dribbling skills. If Jongin would only speak when he's being reprimanded by his mom to answer her, or when Sehun annoys him, or when he's losing to Sehun while playing computer games. Sehun on the other hand can't keep his mouth close. The only time his mouth would shut is when his mom is complaining about his non-stop chattering (which he usually ignores) or when he's sleeping.

As they grow older, their attitude flips at full 360° and it's as if the two friends switched souls. Jongin now is more talkative and outgoing, while Sehun becomes reclusive and would only talk if it's necessary. Aside from Jongin, Sehun only have few trusted friends unlike the social butterfly, Jongin, who earned more friends, in and outside the school.

At high school, both of them are popular among their peers for their skills in soccer, but their popularity only soar high as they were not only good in the soccer field, but were also passionate with dancing.

During their freshman year in high school, they've sneaked and watched an underground dance battle and was fascinated with those older teens, boys and girls, flaunting their dance moves with the other group; that was the time when they realized that they both want to learn to dance. They've both fell in love with it and when they've watched Step Up movies at one of their friend's house, Yixing, Jongin was so amazed learning that ballet, jazz and hip-hop dance could created a beautiful routine.

The two of them were so eager to learn that they would often surf the web and copy those dance tutorial from YouTube, basically learning to dance all by themselves. Every weekend, or whenever they're free, they've often go to either's house: in the living room, bedroom, kitchen, garage or backyard, as long as there's space for them to practice some dance steps.

They were once caught by some senior, who's name is Eunhyuk, dancing to some jazz music inside the locker room after their soccer practice (not to mention Jongin only has his towel wrapped on his waist). Their bodies were in sync to the music, both were too absorbed in dancing that they didn't noticed a pair of watchful eyes over them. Eunhyuk saw their potential and asked them to join their dance group.

Their perseverance to learn and aptitude in dancing has paid off, and they were now known as the bad boy duo of the dance floor.

Soon, puberty hits them (nicely) and the two of them becomes popular with their peers, most especially with girls. Jongin, with his Adonis-like built and his signature sexy smirk that always makes girls (of different age group) swoon over him. Sehun on the other hand, gives the opposite sex the vibes (especially the Noona's) of a mysterious type of guy with his poker-face and detached attitude.

Jongin was 16 when he lost his virginity with his first girlfriend. And now that they were both university students, Sehun swears that he'll never listen to Jongin whenever he tells him his escapades to him.

It's a Saturday afternoon and the two were hanging out at the park. Jongin giddily tells Sehun again about one of his escapades, as he alternates the soccer ball with his knee.

"God you're acting like a girl, Jongin." Sehun commented flatly, not even removing his eyes on the book he's reading.

"I wonder if you could still say that when you get to try it with your first girlfriend. I swear, I'll have my comeback when it's your turn to share your first time!" Jongin retorts as he flops beside Sehun.

"You should go and a get a girlfriend, Sehun! You're always cooped up in your room, or if not, you're always following Luhan hyung around like a puppy!" Jongin rants. "You're not even checking on me, your bestfriend, if I'm still breathing! Do you even miss me?!" Sehun finally looks up to him and raises his left eyebrow, cringing to Jongin's last sentence.

"What, you swing that way now? Sorry, Jongin but I'm straight."

"I know! I'm just checking if we're still on the same wavelength. And besides, Luhan hyung would never go gay for you either!" Jongin cracks up when Sehun glares at him.

"But seriously, Sehun you should get a girlfriend now. And no, I don't believe with Baek-hyung and Jongdae hyung's claim that you're asexual" Sehun shook his head and countinue reading his book.

You see, Sehun had never been in a relationship. Although he's equally popular to Jongin with girls, Sehun had never paid them attention. Claiming that no one ever perked up his interest. Unlike Jongin, who were often mistaken as a playboy or flirty with the girls when in fact he's only befriending them.

Jongin's not a playboy. No. "They were the ones throwing their selves to me!" is what Jongin usually says to Sehun whenever his bestfriend throws him a 'new-girlfriend-again?!' look.

The two boys were talking about random things (mostly Jongin who do the talking) when some nuisance popped out from nowhere.

"Sh*t! You gave me a fright, Jihyo!" Jongin exclaimed, clutching his chest.

"I gave you a what?! Gosh Jongin, I never knew you could be this... girly!" The said nuisance girl named Jihyo, laughed as she removed her sun glasses.

The girl is sporting (from top to bottom) her bright neon-green beanie, red graffiti shirt topped with a camouflage cardigan, cargo pants and black and white Jordan rubber shoes.

Most of the girls from school envy Choi Jihyo. She's not just good at sports but she's pretty close with most of the school's soccer and basketball team members (since those two teams both have good looking players). She's also the only girl that Sehun allows to initiate skinship with him, could demand Jongin to give her a piggy-back ride and even barge in to the boys' bedroom, not even minding whether the tenant of the room's were only in boxers shorts. The perks of being bestfriends with the two heartthrobs.

"You dyed your hair... again." Sehun commented flatly.

"You like it?" Jihyo runs her hands through her blue-dipped hair.

"You and your OOTD's, tsk! You look like a second rate mafia recruiter!" Jongin pipes in which earns him a glare from the girl.

"Excuse you, but I'm not talking to you, Nini! Since when did you became Sehunnie's spokesperson, huh?"

"Since he starts talking less- stop calling me that! You look like a man with blue hair in your outfit, woman! And that's an 'oppa' for you. When will you ever learn to respect us?!" Jongin rebutted. Sehun quirks an eyebrow before letting out a sigh as the two of his friends continue their bickering.

"Look at her, Sehun, just look at her! When will she ever learn to call us oppa?"

"I'm so sorry, Mom! My God, Jongin, I swear you could pass as a nagging mother hen! Plus, it's called an ombre, Jongin. Ombre!"

Sehun shook his head an says, "You two, stop it already. Jongin, it's none of your business whether she dyes her hair blue or pink." Jihyo stuck her tongue out to Jongin as he pouts to Sehun. "And as for you Jihyo, Jongin's still older than you so know your limits." Jongin return the favor of sticking his tongue out and Jihyo pouts this time.

After eating snacks together and some more bickering after (courtesy of Jongin and Jihyo), the three friends decided to call it a day and went to their respective houses. While walking to his way home, Sehun noticed a moving truck unloading some furnitures. He was called by his mom, who's currently talking to a woman in her late 40's, who he assumes is the new owner of the house right before their's.

"This is my son, Sehun. Sehun this is Mrs. Jung, our new neighbor."

"Nice to meet you, Mrs. Jung." Sehun greets her with a small smile.

"Oh my, what a handsome young lad!"

"By the way, your daughter is transferring at Seoul National University, right?" Mrs. Oh asks and Mrs. Jung answer with a nod.

"Great! My son here also attends there, he could assist her there on Monday." Sehun whips his head immediately to his mom's direction.

"Are you sure?" Mrs. Jung asks wearily.

"Of course! Right Sehunnie?" Sehun tries to fight the urge to roll his eyes to his mom. If not because of Mrs. Jung's presence that moment, he would definitely walks out on her as his silent protest. But no, Sehun would never do that - at least not in front of their new neighbor.

Great! Sehun's boring life now has a meaning - please note the sarcasm! Why, of all the people, is he the one being forced into this situation. And why, of all the time, Jongin isn't around when his mom is taking her liberty to decide for himself?!

"Yes." Sehun answered lazily.

"That's really nice of you, dear. I hope you and my daughter could get along." Mrs. Jung said.

Sehun could only smile a little, wishing that Monday morning won't come.
