Ch. 9

Ginny took several shaky breaths as she started begging "T-Tom! Please! I thought you were my friend!" She cried, her legs carrying her deeper into the Chamber. He chuckled, forcing her to nearly sprint, the pain in her head and limbs was unbelievable.

"Ginevra Ginevra Ginevra" He chuckled again before shoving her to the floor "You've never been my friend, and I've never been yours" He chuckled once more before commanding her to take out the diary. "I'll be in full form once more" The pain increased as a sickly black smoke swirled from the diary and straight to her chest.

She was on fire, pain and rage filled her, as well as terror, and sadness. She writhed, her strength weakening with every move and every second. One last minute, and the form of the boy she had been talking to was inked behind her eyelids as he continued to reform.

She couldn't keep it up any longer, and let her body go slack. Inky blackness swirled around her and a flash of fire was just feet from her before she passed out.
-----

As Harry ran to the Headmasters office, all he could think about were those cold, black eyes. His steps pounded in his ears and he knew he was running on pure adrenaline.

As he neared the statue to the Headmasters office, it jumped to the side suddenly, allowing him to plow through and up the stairs.

"Hurry!" He yelled into Dumbledores office "Its Ginny! Ginny Weasley! She's hurt!"

"Fawkes! Take us to Miss Weasley" Dumbledore ordered, his voice so calm it was scary. Fawkes glided over, flapping his wings over Dumbledores head. The bearded man took Harry's hand and raised his own above his head.

Fawkes swooped down, allowing Dumbledore to grab her tail feather.

A flash of fire, orange, yellow, and red danced across Harrys vision. Quicker than Floo'ing, but not as quick as Apparating, they swirled in the fire until it stopped suddenly.

They were standing in a cold, dark, and damp chamber. Statues of snakes with their mouths open made out of grey stone lined the walk way and a giant head of Salazar Slytherin lay in the Chamber.

"The Chamber of Secrets" Harry whispered, recognizing the description that Hermione had read from one of her books. His eyes continued to search the room.

The green eyes fixed on a swirling black mist at the end of the Chamber. He suddenly felt a twinge in his scar that grew hotter every second.

Dumbledore gasped as the mist moved slightly, revealing a head of red hair.

"Ginny!" Harry exclaimed, stepping forward but being stopped by Dumbledore.

"No sudden movements" He whispered. Harry stood completely still aside from the quick breaths coming from his mouth. His heart beat seemed to echo around him as it thumped harder than ever.

"If I had known, Harry... I'd never have taken you here" Dumbledore whispered. Harry looked up at him quickly in shock to hear him with a tinge of fear in his voice, but too quickly. The sudden movement brought the black mists attention.

"Harry Potter" It whispered. Harrys heart stopped, his palms sweating and his hands shaking but he brought up all his Gryffindor courage and shouted across the Chamber.

"LEAVE HER ALONE! LET HER GO!" The Chamber vibrated with each word, making loose rocks fall. One came dangerously close to Ginny, but bounced harmlessly away as if she were under a force field.

The mist swirled slower and slower until there was the body of a young boy, about seventeen, with dark hair and piercing eyes. His face was twisted with pain and weakness was evident in his voice.

"Why would I do that? Dear Harry. She's giving me her power" He said with a slight smirk, though he was holding his arm across his chest.

"I don't care! Just let her go!" He screamed. The boy laughed, shaking his head.

"Harry Potter... Didn't your mother teach you to be respectful to your elders? Seems not, maybe I should take the weight off her shoulders" He sneered Come my pet, dinner's ready

"Tom. Just release the girl" Dumbledore said calmly, raising his hands in front of himself.

Harry fixed his gaze on the girl just feet in front of him. His terror and rage stirred inside him, causing his mouth to go dry as he looked at her. She was pale, so pale... She almost looked...

He barely saw a snake slither in front of them or Dumbledores warning to not look in its eyes. All Harry saw was the red headed girl in front of him.

He did this to her.... Harry couldn't see the golden aura that started emulating from him. Or the way Tom stopped talking abruptly, staring at the glow from Harry with wide eyes that looked out of place on his handsome face. And he didn't see the small smile that appeared on Dumbledores face. All he could think of was the girl in front of him.

Tom furiously gave the snake commands, telling it to attack.

But as it started forward, Harry fixed it with a gaze that should have killed him. He stared into the red eyes, and poured all his might into his look. The snake shuddered before combusting into a pile of bones and snake skin and ash.

Harry raised his hand forward, his eyes glowing with the power he held in his body. He lazily flicked his wrist and Tom went flying into the opposite wall.

Harry stepped forward, somewhat gliding towards Ginny. His power radiated through the room, the light so bright that Dumbledore had to cover his eyes. He walked until he was next to the Weasley, crouching down, then sitting on his knees, he picked up the book she was holding and a scream issued from it until it was a pile of ash that Harry easily pushed away with a gust of magic.

He took her hand, and almost naturally, the light became brighter, and brighter, and brighter. So bright, Harry had a hard time seeing clearly.

Dumbledore stumbled backwards, falling to the floor as he watched the two students. Slowly, as if in slow motion, they both rose off the floor, their eyes closed. Their feet were just above the ground when Albus couldn't see anymore. His eyes burned.

It was much different for Harry. He felt the twitching in his chest that he felt before come back, a grey light emanated from her chest, and a black one from his. They came forward until they started swirling into one, dark color. Then it started changing into a lighter color. Then grey. Then white.

With one pulse of magic, it turned gold and the two were dropped to the floor. Harry didn't feel the impact, or even realize he fell. He saw several scenes flash in front of his eyes.

A family of red heads crowded around the Christmas tree, the eldest lifting the smallest child with slightly longer hair than the other baby up and to the top of the tree to place an ugly little elf. "Nice job Ginny!" Bill praised, cuddling the little girl to his chest.

"Come on Ron!" A little redhead shouted, bounding over the hill with her brother behind her.

"Watch it Dragonheart!" A young Charlie Weasley called from way behind, making his way up the hill to watch the two children.

"Come on Charlie!" Ron complained, giving him a wry grin "Have a little fun! Just a quick stop by the sweets shop in the village and we'll be right back"

"I thought you said you were the cool Big Brother" Said Ginny deviously. He chuckled and glanced over his shoulder.

"I guess a bit of chocolate couldn't hurt"

Both children cheered and sprinted up the hill with their older brother.

~~~
"GINNY LIKES HARRY! GINNY LIKES HARRY!" The twins chanted, dancing around the small girl. She covered her cheeks and sprinted out of the house. She ran until she reached the broomshed and grabbed a random one. She launched into the air and rode as fast as she could, driving around the Burrow several times, tears running down her face.
Harry saw several more memories, but they blurred into one long line of color. He couldn't catch much, but worked out a lot. She had a crush on him, just like he did for her, she snuck into the broom cupboard and stole rides on her brothers broom, her favorite color was green, she has always wanted to be a Professional Quidditch Player.
The images got over whelming, he couldn't work anything out anymore. As his eyes finally cleared, he could make out the circle of power flowing through his hand to Ginny's and softly closed his green eyes at the same time as she closed her brown ones.
Albus opened his eyes and saw the site of a war. Or so it seemed. He looked around and saw burn marks, pieces of rock littering the floor, and chunks missing from the wall.
He got up surprisingly quickly for an old man and rushed to the side of the two children. He felt their pulses and sighed with relief. They were alive.
He wiped his face of the filth and levitated the two, grabbing their hands before calling Fawkes. The bird came and perched on his shoulder before flaming out.
