Ch. 78 Come Back!

Harry held Ginny tightly to him as he slept, plagued by dreams. First, he was in a hallway in Hogwarts. Hushed voices inside a door drew his attention, and he stumbled towards the noise.

It was Moody, talking to himself as he lounged on his chair, muttering about how much he hated grading papers. His magical eye whirred around, once pausing where Harry stood, then moving along. Only when Moody turned his magic eye towards a flask did Harry let out a breath.

"Gah! Out again!" Moody blundered, shaking the flask. A sloshing sound escaped it. "Let's see here..." The man pulled a large black box from behind his desk, taking off the lid and scouring through bottles. After a few tries, he grabbed at one and grinned, "Here we are."

Just as he was about to take the vial, Harry fell backwards, straight through the floor.

The sensation left Harry gasping in air as he awoke, clambering to find his Bond Mate. Of course, she woke up before him for once and he was alone, staring at the morning sun from outside the window.

Ginny was upstairs, probably getting ready to come downstairs and go to the Great Hall. There wasn't any classes. Not since two days before. The Professors were trying to find Chimp man, knowing he was somewhere near Hogwarts.

Harry groaned, wiping his hand over his face before standing up, yawning and stretching. Looking around the room blearily, he couldn't get the sick feeling from his stomach. Prelude to the Third Task.

Ginny felt this, and sent a wave of calming emotions over to her boyfriend. He sighed, placing his head in his hands wearily before going to get dressed as well, attempting to message Ginny from upstairs.

It had gotten easier to talk over long distances, but sometimes they still had to be right next to each other. But at least they didn't have to lock gazes anymore. Ginny sent another wave of calm after his quick message of Good morning, love.

After dressing, Harry came back down to the Common Room. Ginny sat on the couch, drawing circles lightly on the side of the couch. Nervousness was in her system, but she had tried, and failed, to block that from him. He sat next to her, watching as she narrowed her eyes at the flame.

Ron'll be down soon. She pointed out, putting her head on Harry's shoulder. He sighed, wrapping her in his arms and pressing a kiss to her head. Ginny sighed slightly, looking up towards her Bond Mate.

I know, Gin. No classes right? Ginny grimaced and nodded, a ball of tension forming in her thoughts. Harry took a deep breath and shook his head. Let's not think about it, love. How about we just relax here? He suggested, not feeling hungry at all. Ginny agreed silently and Harry shifted so they were laying down, her head resting lightly on his chest and her hands twisted in the fabric of his shirt. He placed his hands on her back, reveling in the golden glow that sparked in both of their chest's as they held each other.

Ginny let go of all her walls she put up, letting Harry feel her emotions and thoughts. The Bond was free for once in a long time, and they both explored the implications for the first time in what seemed like forever. The tumult of the past few days evaporated.

"Harry..." Ginny whispered, looking up into his eyes. He raised his eyebrows, and she lifted herself up slightly onto her elbows so she could read his expression. "Do not get hurt, okay?" She mumbled sternly, Harry smiled moving his hands to her waist.

"Okay. I promise, I'll come back in at least one piece." Ginny shifted her weight onto her other hand and punched his shoulder lightly. Harry chuckled, shaking his head.

"I love you." Ginny grinned. Just saying it made her heart skip a beat, and his own breathing stutter. Harry smiled, looking straight into her eyes.

"More than the world." And he kissed her, softly with promise. A promise that he'd come back, and a promise that whatever was happening wouldn't harm them. Any feeling of premonition dissolved, leaving them both at peace.

Ginny and Harry were standing at the entrance to the maze, holding hands. James and Lily stood off to the side, attempting to not smile at their son's loving gaze as he stared at his Bond Mate, who was examining the other Champions with a sour look, as if saying you get him hurt, I hurt you.

Stay safe. Ginny reminded him, and Harry wrapped her in his arms for a second or two too long. They sighed, and Ginny pulled back, kissing him quickly and lightly, ignoring James's grin at that. She could practically read his lips as he said to Lily, 'Redheaded witches love the Potter boys.'

Lily slapped his arm and said 'witches?'

Before Ginny could laugh at the exchange, Harry pulled her attention back to him glancing over her features as if making sure he wouldn't forget. "I love you." He mumbled, kissing her forehead. Just then, Dumbledore told the Champions to line up.

"Love you too, now, go get 'em." Ginny smiled, touching his cheek lightly and watching the golden glow before pulling away and backing towards the stands.

The sky churned, and Ginny glanced at it uneasily, glancing around at the contingents of Aurors that guarded the place. She cursed Dumbledore to high heaven for not calling off the Tournament when he heard something strange might happen.

Just as she was heading up the stairs to the seats, someone grabbed her arm and pulled her underneath the bleachers.

Katrin Boyle looked into Ginny's shocked eyes, glancing around before pushing her hand towards the ground. Ginny assumed it either meant 'Low voices' or 'Short'.

"Ginny," Katrin still glanced around the wooden supports nervously. "You have a lot of power with Harry. If you say he isn't going to be in the Tournament, he can't be." She spoke hurriedly and with a tone underlying her words. Hurt?

"What?" Ginny spluttered, then remembered how she wasn't supposed to speak and slapped her hand against her mouth. Katrin rolled her eyes, clearly trying not to smile.

"Tell Dumbledore. Something big is going to happen..." She paused, "I know you love Harry, so I know you'll do anything to protect him. This may be the only way, they're attacking." Katrin mumbled, stepping closer to Ginny so that she could see her eyes were rimmed with red. She wanted to ask why, but then decided against it.

"Who? Who's a-"

Fireworks went off and Ginny took that to mean that the Champions were off. Katrin looked at the ground with a hard face.

"Gillian." She mumbled, wringing her hands. Ginny blinked a few times, still trying to see through her confusion.

"Gillian who?

"Gillian Patrick," Katrin looked up, blinking once of twice before continuing, "The one who haunted your dreams."

///

Ginny was angry. No, she was more than angry. Katrin had let this information slide away from her, meaning Harry was in extreme danger. Katrin attempted to explain, saying it was because she knew Chimpy could easily kill her and her brother, but Ginny hardly listened.

She ran out of the stands, almost plowing into an Auror. Harry felt her panic, but didn't say anything. Ginny gasped in air as she tried to tell the Auror of this information.

He didn't believe her, sending her back into the stands where she stumbled across people's feet and almost fell straight over Lily.

"Lily! James!" She gasped. The two stood, instantly concerned. "They'll attack! We have to earn Harry!" Ginny blundered, the two didn't question.

"How will we do that? He's already off!" James had to practically shout over booming voices. Ginny just tapped her head.

"Help me find someplace silent." She whispered. The two exchanged glances, but followed the girl, James getting the attention of some of his Auror buddies and telling them to keep watch and stay silent.

She wandered the grounds looking for someplace silent, then grinned as an idea sprouted from her mind. The clearing.

When they got there, she had to pull James's attention away from the view and told them to just stand there. Company might help, plus it was better than being alone when at any moment someone could attack.

Harry. She tried, scouring through the Bond. He didn't reply, so she assumed he didn't hear. She dived deeper into the Bond, blinking a few times as her eyes burned from the light. A golden area she'd never been in before. It was like the Bond had engulfed her. She closed her eyes, feeling for Harry's mind.

Harry! She tried again, cringing as the thought echoed around her. Silence. Then she heard a pair of feet pounding against the grass, making almost open her eyes. Harry! She practically screamed. He paused in his running, and replied shakily.

Gin?

"Oh Merlin." Ginny gasped out loud, You need to come back, NOW. They're going to attack, you're not safe alone. No one will listen! Get out of there! She ordered, pulling at the grass around her as a pressure began building behind her eyelids.

But... The others, they'll- Ginny cut him off.

Just get out of there! She cried, the burning sensation covering her mind.

Ginny! Stop talking to me you'll-

And she was thrown from the Bond, her eyes flying open and making James and Lily startle backwards. Exhaustion was taking over.

"Your... Your eyes..." James gasped. Ginny didn't respond, instead, her world tilted and everything was tinged gold. She blacked out.
