Ruby's PoV:

I was sitting on my bean bag, with Amethyst, watching Netflix. I had my phone in my hand, just in case I got a text from Sapphire. It's been at least four hours, and still nothing.

I have invited Amethyst over, to get my mind off things, but we've just been sitting in silence.

She decided to break it. "Yo Rube, you okay? Your not laughing at the stupid parts."

I shrugged. "I dunno, Sapphires ex, is back in town. And, she has to pretend to be in love with him.Also, her dad doesn't even like me around her."

Amethyst gasped. "What the hell?! Beat his ass!", she yelled.

"I can't. Her dad, remember?", I said, a little annoyed.

"Well, if things go bad, you should. I guess we'll wait until tomorrow."

I nodded. "I guess..."

*The next day~*

I texted Sapphire, and told her to meet me, in the library. She replied with a 'I can't.'
I was confused, but then I remembered Agate attends here now. Great. I texted back 'why?', but she didn't respond.

I waited in the library for at least 30 minutes, before leaving. I put away the dumb comic book I was reading, and grabbed my book bag. Nobody even said hi. I heard there was a rumor, that I had the Freak Disease. And, everybody who's friends with me, has it too.

When I walking in the hallway, I ran into Lapis and Peridot.

I waved. "Hey guys, have you seen Sapphire?", I asked.

Lapis shrugged. "I thought she was with you."

Peridots face brightened. "Oh! You might not like this, but I saw her holding hands, with some new kid."

Lapis gasped. "Omg! Is she cheating?"

I sighed, and looked down. "No...", Then I snap back up. "Wait, how do you know, we're dating?"

Lapis laughs. "Amethyst told us."

I growled. "Ugh! I told her not to tell anyone!"

"Even if she didn't tell us, it was still pretty obvious. I mean, you hold hands, you get defensive, you walk her home..."

I blush. "Oh... Anyways, bye."

I was bummed, because it seemed like she was ignoring me. I walked into Health class, with Mrs. Quartz, and Agate is sitting in my regular seat. But, Sapphire isn't there, only her stuff.

I approach him angrily. "Dude!", I yelled. "That's my seat. Me and Sapphire are partners, not you!"

He was reading a book, and he slowly looked up at me. "Oh. It's just you.", he said sarcastically. Then he looked back down, at his book.

"So?", I growled.

He slammed his book shut, and stood up. I haven't noticed how tall he was. (Quick authors note: Did I mention how he looks like yet? He wears leather jackets, and vests. He has big round glasses, and a hockey haircut. He's a nerd, and a jock?) Man, it's kind of hard to believe, Sapphires dad meet him at church.

He poked my chest, roughly. Don't judge me, I'm flat chested. "Listen shorty." I felt my cheeks start to burn, in anger. I hate it when people call me, short.

"I'm Sapphires boyfriend. Not you. So I have the rights, to sit next to her, whenever I feel like it."

The whole class fell silent. They were all staring at me now. I heard whispers like, 'Ruby's gone soft' and 'Who's the new kid?'

He continued. "I know you like her, or whatever, you dyke. But, you're lucky your her friend, or I would fight you. So, go be someone else's partner." He sat back down, and continued to read.

I was literally about to blow on him, but the bell rang. I took a seat next to Copper, one of the nerds. Then Mrs. Quartz, walked in, and Sapphire was right behind her.

"Okay class, take a seat.", she said softly. The class, all scrambled to there seats.

While she was walking down the aisle, I noticed her cheek. It was a little bruised. She walked right passed me, and didn't even look at me.

I suddenly grew very concerned. Amethyst was sitting in the back, with Pearl. They were right behind Sapphire. So, I stood up, and went to them.

"Hey Ruby.", Pearl greeted me.

"Sup.", I mumbled.

Agate turned around, and put his arm around Sapphire. Then he smiled evilly at me, and faced forward.

I growled, and banged my head on the table.

"Woah. You okay?", Amethyst asked.

I didn't answer. My hate for him, just grew 100 times bigger.

Sapphires PoV:

I feel so terrible. Throughout the whole day, I was ignoring all contact, with Ruby. She tried texting me, and I guess she saw my bruised cheek.

At lunch, I was gonna sit with Ruby, to tell her everything, but Agate made me sit outside with him. I wasn't even hungry, so I picked at my food.

"...right, Sapphire?", he asked.

I jumped out of my thoughts. "Huh--what?", I asked confused. I guess, I wasn't listening.

"Didn't you just her what I said?!", he yelled.

I don't know why, he's acting so different. He used to be sweet, and shy, and nerdy. Now, he's a total a$$hole.
"No...", I mumbled.

He flipped my tray over. Mashed potatoes, and green beans splattered on me, and the floor. A bunch of people looked at us. "Pick it up!", he yelled.

I glared at him, a tear rolled down my face. And I walked back inside. I was gonna go to the bathroom, but my friends immediately noticed me.

"Hey, Sapphire!", I heard Lapis yell.

I looked at them, and they were all waving at me. Once they saw my tears, they immediately stopped. Ruby looked so worried.

I turned back around, and went in the bathroom. I turned on the water, and lifted my bangs up. Then I washed my face.
I was about to leave, but the door opened. It was Ruby. She ran to me, and hugged me. I began to cry, on her shoulders.

"Sapphire.... Are you okay? Talk to me.", she said softly.

"I want to hang out with you, I really do. But... I can't.", I sobbed.

Then the door opened again. It was Agate. Ruby ran to him.

"What the hell, are you doing?! This is a girls bathroom, leave!", she yelled.

"Move out the way! I just wanna say sorry, to my girlfriend..."

Ruby went in front of me, all protective. "You are not going anywhere near her. Now leave, before I make you."

I didn't do anything to stop her, because I wanted him to leave. I held Ruby's hand. I saw Agate flinch.

His face turned red, and he ran towards Ruby. "I will end you!", he yelled.

I let go of her hand, and she immediately dodged his push. Then the door flew open again. Lapis, Amethyst, and Pearl were standing there. When they saw what was happening, Lapis ran towards him.

"Get out of here!", she yelled, as she pushed him.

Then Mrs. Quartz came inside, with Peridot behind her. Everybody immediately froze. Mrs. Quartz, looked really disappointed.

She sighed softly. "Violence is never the answer. I thought I said this before." She sighed again. "Agate... can you please go to the principals office? And Sapphire..."

I flinched, as she said my name.

"Can you please talk to me, in my classroom?"

Ruby held my arm tight. I know, she doesn't wanna leave me. "Can Ruby come?", I asked.

Mrs. Quartz nodded. Agate growled at Mrs. Quartz. "What?!", he yelled.

"Go.", Mrs. Quartz said. "Now."

Agate glared at Ruby, and pushed everyone out the way. Then he stomped outside, mumbling to himself. Lapis patted my back. "Are you okay?", she asked.

I nodded. "Thanks everyone.", I said.

They all nodded, and smiled weakly, then they walked outside. Mrs. Quartz walked outside with them. "Meet me in my classroom.", she said.

Now it was just me and Ruby, in the room. I hugged her. "Thank you, Ruby.", I spoke softly.

She hugged me back. "I just want you to be safe."

We walked out the bathroom, holding hands. We walked, all the way to her classroom. Ruby decided, she would wait outside for me, and I agreed. Before I went inside, I kissed her on the cheek. She blushed, and I giggled.

Then I opened the door, and went inside.

Agates PoV:

I know Mrs. Quartz, told me to go to the principles office, but I went to the gym instead. I'm just so upset! Does Sapphire actually like that dyke?! She's my girlfriend! I moved here, just to be with her, and she doesn't even like me!

As soon as I walk inside the gym, I immediately notice the popular kids, the Diamonds. They were practicing a cheerleading routine. I know who the Diamonds are because, who doesn't?

I walk up to them. One of the jocks who were watching them, stood in front of me. "What do you want, runt?", she said in a gruff voice. She was very tall, and she had long pale hair. She crossed her arms, and looked down at me.

I wasn't intimidated, so I looked up at her, with sass. "Can I talk to the Diamonds?", I asked, in a bored tone.

She grunted. "What do you want?", she repeated.

I rolled my eyes. "That's none of your concern, but do you hate Ruby? You know, that lesbian jock."

She hesitated to say something, but continued. "No... But, yes? We used to be friends , but she left the basketball team. I do hate her girlfriend, though. I'm Jasper by the way."

I was confused, for a second. "Girlfriend?", I asked. "Who's her girlfriend?!", I suddenly yelled.

She kind of looked freaked out for a second, but then she continued. "Damn dude, chill. Her girlfriend is Sapphire. I feel sorry for Ruby..."

Then my heart literally fell. So, she was dating Ruby! Since when, was she gay?! Oh my gosh... There's so many things I wanna do right now. But, since we both hate Ruby... "Do you wanna break them up?", I ask her.

She smiles evilly. "Hell yeah! I want my friend/teammate back!"

"So... We need a plan....", I mumble.

Sapphires PoV:

I walk in the classroom, and Mrs. Quartz is looks up at me. "Oh. Come have a seat."
She motioned her hands, to a seat across from her desk.

I slowly walk to the seat, and sit down. She folds her hands. "So Mrs. Frost, what was happening in the girls bathroom?"

I swallowed, and took a deep breath. "My friends were defending me."

She raised an eyebrow. "From whom?"

Gosh. I have never lied to a teacher. I guess, I need to tell the truth. "From my ex. He threw my lunch tray at me, then demanded I pick it up. I ran in the bathroom, and he came inside, to "apologize", and they all got defensive. Especially Ruby."

She nodded, and took a while to process everything. "...And then a fight broke out?", she asked.

I nodded. She sat up straight. "I want you to be completely honest with me. Does he hurt you?"

I hesitate to say something. "Sapphire, please tell me. I need to know.", she says.

I push my hair, covering my cheek. A small, purple bruise is showed. "Please don't tell! Horrible things will happen, if you do!", I beg. "I'll break up with him, I promise!"

"As long, as you don't see him anymore, I won't tell anyone. But, I will punish him.", she said sternly.

I nodded. She then changed her expression, to happy. "Anyways, you can go now."

I stood up, and pushed the chair in. Then before I left, I turned around. "Thank you."

"Oh wait, Sapphire!"

I turn back around. "Yes?"

She grins. "Do you... like Ruby?"

I blush crazily. How do the teachers know?! "Um...actually, we're kind of... dating?", I say nervously. Omg, omg. Why did I tell her that? What is she gonna say?!

She smiles. "Good to know. I'm happy for you."

Jasper's PoV:

Me and that new kid, sneak around the corner. Ruby and the freak, are talking with each other, on the grass. And there holding hands. Gross. I honestly, don't even know what I'm doing here. But, that new kid, I think his name is Agate? Said he had a plan.

He held up his phone, and took several pictures of them. I had the schools phone book, in my hand.

"Look up, Sapphires dads phone number.", he demands.

Oh gosh, I know what he's planning. All of a sudden, I feel really bad. God, I hate when I get like this! I hesitate to move.

"What are you waiting for? Do you wanna break them up, or not?!"

I think for a second. I really miss Ruby and Amethyst, and I'm sure everyone else does too. But, should I really do this? I've never seen Ruby so happy, with a freak. Well, the school basketball team, needs her... So who cares?!

I flip through the phone book, and I find Sapphires page. Underneath her name, is her emergency contacts.

'Fathers cellphone number: 383-2919-1938(1) ' 
(Lol, I made this number up, so pls don't try and call it xD)

I showed him the page, and he dialed it in his contacts. Then he sent all of the pictures. Some including, Ruby braiding Sapphires hair, Sapphire kissing her cheek, laying on her shoulder, and just normal pictures.

He looked up, and smiled evilly. "Now, we wait..."
