"Why are you telling me this?" I ask. Afterall his boyfriend did warn her not to. And I have always seen in the movies whenever someone knew too much they are not alive to tell others.

"Because I'm giving you a reason and motivation," Rose paused. God, I don't know if I will ever get used to her real name. "To get the hell out of this city and vanish from the killing eyes of these two brothers."

My eyes narrowed. "I don't understand. Are you—"

"Yes, I'm letting you go." She finished for me, taking another few seconds of pause. She then seemed calm."I never hated you, Caroline. I never did. I was a bitch to you all the time just to make you quit so I won't have to hurt you. It would be hard to believe but I swear I pitied you all the time, especially after learning that Klaus has feelings for you, or maybe not. God knows what is the truth here. But neither is healthy for anyone. He only thinks of you as a replacement of Thea as you remind him of her. Your hair, your eyes, even your soft voice."

"I think it's too late. I'm in love with him." I find myself telling her this. Maybe I am starting to trust her or maybe I just an idiot.

"Then you did the worst mistake of your life." She states, looking wary.

"Pretty sure it's your fault," I say, thinking the times when she accused me of seducing Klaus.
"You made me think about him. You said I was into him when I wasn't but now I'm. And I can't help it and I don't think I could stay away from him."

"It's not only you and Klaus. It's you, Klaus and Edward."

"Why Edward?"

"Don't you know the whole story of their hatred." I nod and she goes on. "Edward hates Klaus and he will go after the people he cares. And Klaus cares for only three people. Kol, Rebekah and if Edward is right, then you, too."

"And Edward will never hurt Kol and Rebekah, " I tell her as I remember him saying these exact words. "as he wants them by his side."

"Exactly. And that just leaves you. The only person Edward won't hesitate to hurt to get a reaction out of Klaus. So If I conclude everything, it only says you are in deep shit. And trust me on this, it's a tug of war. The more Klaus would want to keep you close, the more Edward will try to take you away from him."

She has a point. Well, she has lots of points. My uncle warned me, my mom, too and I ignore it because I happen to develop a blind spot for someone who can easily be replaced as narcissistic.

So I ask her. "So if I go away, what will Edward do to you? Or Thea?"

"That depends on you." She answers.
"If you do as I say and vanish into thin air then there won't be a problem. I can lie that you ran away somehow but if you stayed and went to Klaus then no one can save me or my family. And that would be on you."

I swallowed. "But Klaus. I—"

"I told you, Caroline. He doesn't deserve your love." She screams.
"Are you gonna forget what he did to my sister, the first girl he loved? Are you sure he's gonna forgive you if you made any mistake in the future? No! Cause he is paranoid just like Edward."

"If I go away as you said, what will you do?"

"I will marry Niklaus, just like Edward planned."

"What are you gonna get by that. A permanent assurance of spying?"

"Not exactly. Right after Klaus's dad cheated on her wife, repeatedly, Sofia wasn't sure to trust him with the company. She had Anderson transfer the 41% on her name but the will is a little bit different. You see after being betrayed by her own husband and seeing her son following his daddy's lead, Sofia altered Mikealson's will, which states that Klaus's wife will inherit that percentage of share. It's not an easy task but all I have to do is play nice with Sofia and convince to transfer before the maturity date. And it can be only done if she is fully assured that her daughter in law wishes for the best of her family."

"So you are planning to take over the company. 41% is nowhere close to that. You need an extra 10% to have administrative control. "

"You heard the prologue. Let me finish the entire story. After Sofia rightfully transfers me the shares, Edward will eventually take that from me by purchasing through his company's name. He has his investor with another 10% shares in the Mikealson Corporation. That sums up 51%, and bingo!  Enough to control the company. That's what the plan has been all along. Thea wasn't aware of it when she fell in love with Klaus."

"So how do you know all of this?"

"I don't repeat the mistake, especially the ones my sister made. Danny has helped me all the way. He is good with computers."

"But have you ever think what you are going to pull of is going to destroy the Mikealson empire. Not just that, so many other people will be affected by that. This is insane. "

"I don't care about it, and neither should you. My family, my life, even Danny's life is at stake. He found all this information by risking his life. And now I'm risking all of us. So tell me will you go away from Klaus or not? Because I don't think so Edward is looking forward to setting you free anytime soon. Our plan could take months, maybe a year. Are you going to suffer for the man who is not capable of understanding the meaning of love? You are willing to get destroyed instead of taking over the chance to free yourself."

Her words are stronger than anything else right now. I'm just confused about one more thing. "Why do you have so much trust in me that I will do that?" I politely ask.

"Because Klaus isn't the only one who is reminded of Thea. I'm the other one, too. You have so light in you. And kindness. I remember I was fake crying inside the restricted room and you consoled me no matter how much I insulted you."

I smile at the memory. "Why were you fake crying in a restricted room?"

"Well," she chuckled. "I was stealing some information and you happen to stumble there. So I had to fake cry and throw off the suspicion. "

"You are really smart," I comment.

"I have to be." She unlocks the cuff. "But it's your time to show me how smart you are from getting away."

"Yes, I will. I promise."

"Wise choice." She smiles, running a hand over my shoulder. She reaches for her jacket and pulls a few things. "Now, this is your phone. And a new sim card. Do not log into any Ids. I have turned off the GPS. Don't even think about turning it on, not even when you reach your mother's place. I heard she is out of town at your Grandparents."

"Yeah!"

"Great. Now go! And reach before 9. Cause after that, Police are gonna run an APB on you. Downstairs, there is a car. I've saved the location of the airport in the GPS. It will lead you there. Leave the car and keys outside of the parking lot. My friend will take care of that while you will use the ticket I book for you. It's inside the car. Go, Caroline."

"Thank you." I genuinely feel grateful. She is willing to take the risk.

"Thank me when all of this is over and both of us will be free of the two brothers."

"And what about Wane?"

"Well, we asked him what is more important to him: his loyalty or life. And he chooses the latter." She tells me. "So after you leave, Danny and I will make sure to keep him away from here as well. Now hurry. We don't have much time here."

I get up, ready to leave but stops and look at her. All the time, I judged, envied, and loathed her while she was stuck between Klaus and Edward to protect her sister.

"What?" Rose asks.

"Just a last moment thank you hug." I smile and wrap her in my arms before she could say no. She may not have her sister for now but she made one today.

I detach and rush out of the building. It is ruined but thankfully elevators still work. I reach downstairs and there is indeed a blue car.

I get in and find the ticket on the next seat. I know I really don't wanna do this but Rose is right. Klaus is not someone to fall in love with and I'm not going to become the collateral damage between those psycho brothers.

The sun has risen an hour earlier and thankfully I see no police running around in search of blond at signals. I owe Rose more than she could ask for. And the only way to do is to do things her way. I can feel my heart aching that whatever is going to happen between Klaus and Edward is messy and somehow I am having a debate to turn around just to warn Klaus about the upcoming destruction.

He committed a huge mistake by ruining Thea but I have a feeling that warning her will seal the same fate of Rose or I should say Charlotte.

So I keep going ignoring the sound at the back of my head which were listening to my broken heart. I fell for someone who is not worthy. Throughout the whole time, he pushed me away and I'm glad he rejected me that night.

At least I can move on that he never loved me and I was only a naive woman, getting bothered by that kind of person.

I pull over as I reach the airport. Rose has instructed me to leave the car and keys as it but I think I should stay inside as the flight is still an hour away.

Meanwhile, I continued thinking about everything from the start. I'm resisting it but it is becoming my instinct to think of him every time I close my eyes or open back.

After coming up with a distraction work,  I fit the new sim card on my iPhone which is given by Klaus months ago.
With my old sim card back in my pockets, I turn it on and wait for the signal to come. It's the GPS and data that needs to be off and I'll be safe.

I scroll through my contact list and think of calling my mom and tell her about everything. She already isn't fond of Klaus so it might be good steam off therapy. And I could really use some mother and daughter bonding time.

But I couldn't. I can't risk anything. Moreover, I'm just a few hours away from her.

After killing a little more time, I decide to complete my security checkup and better be reach on time to catch the flight.

I'm not sure if I suppose to leave the keys on the ignition or wait for someone to come. So I step outside to look for someone whose eyes might be here. But everyone is busy in themselves and I don't want to run out of time. Leave the car as it is.

I open the door and retrieve my phone and ticket. But when I turn back, my stomach did a somersault and I hold my breath in surprise.

"I think we need to have some talk." Klaus declared.
