Hermione and Pansy stayed talking that first night until they were both tired. Pansy had her head on Hermione's lap, she liked doing that with her friends and she thought she wouldn't mind. "You and Harry make a cute couple. You two seem to know each other pretty well, I miss that."

Hermione combed through Pansy's hair with her fingers hoping she wouldn't mind, she always did that to Harry, "we're just friends."

Pansy gave her a sad smile, "that's what Theo would say. I remember Daph used to tease him a lot." pansy sighed, "sorry. I just miss them. Draco says it's good that I talk about them but I don't want to be a burden to you."

"you're not a burden. You can talk about them. I'm a good listener."

Pansy smiled, "Theo was underestimated a lot. Everyone thought he was dumb but he isn't. He wasn't. He was brilliant, he always knew what to say. Daphne and Draco knew I liked him before I realized it. I'm sure Astoria knew too, that's her specialty. He was such a kind person to those he was loyal. He tried to protect me, to keep me safe and sound. I miss him, he made me feel loved." Pansy sighed but continued, "and Daph. She was so stubborn. She put us first and I wish she hadn't. I wish she had been a bit more selfish."

Pansy sat up, "it's getting late, let's go to bed." Hermione agreed and they went to their room. "Hermione, whatever happened between you and the weasles, don't let it come between you and happiness."

Before Hermione could say anything Pansy had already gotten under the covers of her bed.

The next morning there was a knock at the door. Pansy was having her turn to shower so Hermione, who was still in pyjamas, opened the door. Harry stood there, his hair a bit wet and very messy. He raised an eyebrow, "is that my old quidditch jersey?"

Hermione looked down at her shirt and nodded, "It's comfortable. I see you're wearing the shirt I gifted you. Fits you good."

Harry was wearing a short sleeve purple polo shirt and jeans. "yeah. Should I come by a bit later?"

Hermione shook her head, "no, just wait on the couch." Harry nodded and sat on the couch.

"Oi! Granger, it's your turn."

Hermione chuckled, "I'll try to hurry."

Pansy got dressed and went outside, "Potter? Are you here for your girlfriend?"

Harry nodded not noticing what she had said, "yeah. Astoria wanted us to sit with you guys. I hope you don't mind."

Pansy smiled, "that's a brilliant idea. I'll walk with you two if you don't mind."

"not at all."

They continued chatting until Hermione came out. She looked beautiful, she always looked beautiful. She was wearing a yellow blouse with a black skirt. Harry was glad they didn't have to wear uniforms anymore. Pansy chuckled at them, how could they not notice?

They walked to the Great Hall only to notice that the tables had changed. They were now smaller round tables for people to sit with their friends. Harry sat next to Blaise and Hermione.

Astoria turned to them, "the little weaslette was fairly angry at me."

"can't imagine why," Blaise said sarcastically, "maybe she's angry we stole two of their friends. Two of the golden trio."

"Don't you think that's a bit dramatic?" Pansy asked.

Blaise shrugged, "I don't actually care."

Draco raised an eyebrow, "Blaise, did you sleep well?"

Blaise shook his head, "I'm not used to all the snoring. I'll take a nap during our free period, it's fine."  He turned to Harry, "how did you sleep? Draco talks in his sleep."

Draco glared at his friends but Harry laughed, "I do too."

After breakfast they walked together to their first class. They had herbology together.

Profesor sprouts began her lesson when the students settled in. Draco, Hermione and Neville kept answering the questions the professor asked. Harry chuckled at Hermione, she had an adorable attitude. No wait, not adorable.

Before the class ended the professor informed them about their semester project. The headmistress and her had decided on the partners. Harry was glad he got Hermione. He hoped it was an easy project.

The professor ordered for the pairs to line up so they could get a seed, they had to take care of an unknown plant and write about the plant.

Pansy pouted and walked over to the line where Ron was waiting for her. Blaise placed a gentle hand on her shoulder before going with Ginny.

"we got lucky, eh?" Harry asked.

Hermione nodded, "let's hope we get a good plant and we'll be set."

The rest of their classes were uneventful. After classes they went to Hermione's dorm to plant the seed. She hoped it wasn't anything hard to keep alive.

After planting the two friends began doing their homework. Harry was glad he could also help Hermione and that it wasn't just a one way thing.

Pansy walked back to her dorm after having to plant the seed with Ronald. She wanted some time alone. Pansy groaned as she spotted another Weasley at the door of her dorm.

"what do you want Ginevra?"

Ginny glared at her, "I want to talk to Hermione."

Pansy blocked her hand from the door knob, "I'll check if she isn't busy, you wait out here."

Ginny took out her wand angrily. Pansy chuckled and pushed the wand down with her finger. She towered over her easily, "go ahead. I doubt your friend will be alright if you hurt me. After all, we are friends now and Hermione's got a big heart. You'll lose yet another friend." Pansy placed her hand in the knob, "you'll wait out here."

Pansy didn't wait for and answer, she got in and closed the door behind her. These redheads were going to kill her.

She walked over to their bedroom and found the cutest thing ever. Hermione had her head on Harry's chest, they were napping. Theo and her would be doing that now. They always napped on their first day. She really missed him.

She walked to the front door and rolled her eyes at Ginny, "she's not here. But I suggest you don't try anything like what you did again. I may be on probation but I have my ways. Now please be kind and leave my space." she closed the door and went to her desk by her bed to finish her homework.

After that she put some pictures up on her side and left the two lovebirds alone to sit outside in the common area the 8th years shared.

Hermione woke up on a hard pillow. She opened her eyes and noticed it was Harry. She smiled at the warmth. Harry was a big cuddly bear.

She tried to get up but there was an arm around her preventing her to do so. She didn't want to wake him up, he looked so peaceful. She carefully got out of the embrace and placed a blanket over her friend.

Hermione noticed that Pansy had beed there. Pictures were put up and there were more plants around the room. Muggle plants. She deciced to put some of her own pictures up. 

Harry woke up moments later. He noticed Hermione wasn't in his arms and freaked out. He frantically looked around the room and saw her in the corner hanging some pictures. He smiled, she was absolutely adorable.

Hermione turned around and saw Harry looking at her, "hungry?"

Harry nodded, "I'll meet you outside. I'm going to spray some water on my face."

Hermione agreed and walked outside of the dorm. She smiled at how cute Harry looked when he woke up. "Hermione!" Hermione bit her lip, Ginny was coming towards her. "Are you avoiding me? Look whatever happened between you and my brother doesn't affect out friendship. I need to talk about Harry with someone and-"

"ready to go Mione?" Harry said. He stopped dead in his tracks when he saw Ginny.

Hermione smiled, "we'll catch up later Gin. Come on Harry."

Harry followed Hermione to the Great Hall. Their slytherin friends made room for them to sit. Maybe this year was going to be harder than they thought.
