Confrontation
I laid in bed for a good hour, I don't know how I'm going to ask CC about all of this. I don't know how offended she's gonna get. I took a deep breathe and texted her to meet me at a local park. None of us really go here that often, it's boring and cops roam that area. She texted back saying okay, but was really confused about the park. She must know that this is serious, maybe she even knows what it's about. If that's the case, she'll probably lie about it. I grabbed my phone and bag, then left. I got to the park early, I'm never early to anything. However it was nice to view the world from a quiet perspective. It felt like my life didn't matter has much, which oddly was a relief. My world seemed to be so much smaller. My problems seem to be pointless. Everyone around me looked so peaceful. Maybe I should come here more often. It's definitely a stress reliever. Eventually, CC showed up and say next to me. It looked as if she was hungover. She was wearing a great hoodie with black sunglasses. It was quiet for a bit, I wasn't sure how to bring this up. How to ask this.
"I got places to be, Lanny." She stated.
I nodded, "I'm not accusing you of this doing this, but did you wreck the ice cream shop?"
"No? After you left, I took about 5 minutes to myself and then left."
"You telling the truth?"
"Since when did I become the bad person and Sadie is the Angel?" CC was getting annoyed.
"I get it, you like me and you're just lashing out because you missed your opportunity."
"Wow, you make it sound like its a huge deal to date you."
"At least for Sadie it is." I did not want this conversation to go in this direction.
"You know what? I dodged a bullet. I can't believe I ever liked a kid that can't even trust his best friend." She got up and started to leave.
"Jokes on you because Kit is my best friend." I added salt to the wound. Why??
CC didn't even turn to me, she must've been passed, "I didn't fucking do it, Lanny."
She left and I just sat there. I was at the park for two hours, just listening to music and watching the people. I missed every call and text from everyone. I just didn't want to go back to my reality. After 2 hours I finally left, turning my phone off airplane mode and finally getting all the voicemails and texts that I missed. It was quite a lot. Just Sadie and Jeremy. I'm not ready to got back to my reality. To be honest, I don't think I ever will be. Maybe I should become a writer, where I can leave my mind and go into someone else's. Someone way better than me or worse off. Something to make me forget about my problems and feelings. I listened to the voicemails and all of the ones from Jeremy were him just begging me to go home. I rushed home and walked in the door. There in the living room, I saw Jeremy with a guy in a suit. I stopped for a few moments and took a step back.
"What's going on?"
"Do you like living here? Does Jeremy St. Louis treat you with respect and love?" The ,an in the suit asked.
I nodded, "This is the best home that I have ever lived in. What's going on?"
"Sophia filed an abuse report against me. Saying I was a bad guardian."
"No one believes her, right?" That is so stupid, who would ever believe that?
"The police are looking into it, after moving you got amnesia from a bad fight."
"Jeremy would never do that to me."
"You never remembered what happened."
Fuck. I didn't think I would be put into a senecio like this, "Well, I know that Jeremy didn't do it."
"Your mother I-"
"She's not my mom. She doesn't deserve to be." I interrupted him.
"Sophia is taking Jeremy to court. Are you willing on testifying against her?"
I nodded, "She's not going to,win this."
"Well, I'll be back tomorrow to start prepping you two for court." The man left.
I sat next to Jeremy, who just looked awful. Like his world was falling apart. Worse than mine.
"I don't understand why she would do this." Jeremy said.
"Her husband left her, both her blood related sons left her and all she has left is Adam. He's going to grow up and try and find his real parents." I added.
"She can't change you. You're 18, she can't do anything to you."
I nodded, "If she wins, I'm running away."
Jeremy looked at me with confusion and concerns.
"I know how stupid that sounds, but I would rather kill myself than love with her."
"The worse thing about this. She doesn't even know me. She didn't take the time to get to know me."
"I know exactly what you mean."
I can't believe Sophia's doing this. Is she really that childish. Somethings not going her way and she throws a fit about it. Pathetic. She's a grown women. If only murder was legal.
