met
[sebin+sangyeon];
THE sun had set and the night had fallen. here sebin was, walking back home after a tiring day at university. she had her airpods plugged in as usual, tote bag hung over her shoulder, struggling to carry two thick textbooks.
she had forgotten to bring her wallet with her as stupid as it sounds. to say that she was exhausted was an understatement. she heaved up the books clutched around her arms, adjusting the weight.
the streets around her weren't too quiet, considering her university was in the city district and it was barely 10p.m. she didn't realize the boy at the side of the road, closing up the café.
all of a sudden, someone had called out to her, "hey!" she wasn't sure if she heard wrongly so she stopped in her tracks, removing her airpods from her ears. looking around her surroundings, sebin was surprised to see sangyeon waving at her. the boy was in a different outfit then what sebin usually saw him in his work uniform. he looked even more charming.
"oh, hello," she bowed to him to which he gladly did too. "are you walking back home?" he asked with that warm smile that made sebin feel way too many emotions at once. she nodded at his question and there was a short awkward silence between them before sangyeon broke it.
"i could walk you home if you want?" sangyeon, himself, was shocked at the words that came out of his mouth. 'since when was i that daring?'
sebin was speechless. she didn't really know what to do in such a situation and she could never carry a conversation. she would probably malfunction if the two of them walked home alone together. she was about to decline his offer but remembering the street right after the café made her think twice. that specific street was dark and usually had drunk people roaming around. shuddering at the thoughts of maybe bumping into them, she replied sangyeon. "yea, sure, thank you!"
he grinned at her response and started to take the books out of her hand, "i'll take that for you..?"
"sebin. jung sebin," she shyly replied him, a pink hue on her cheeks after his actions. she was thankful that the streetlights were a little dim and frowned mentally at how weak she was currently acting.
"okay.. sebin," in a way, she liked how her name rolled off his tongue. it almost gave her a shiver down her spine. "i'm not sure if you saw my nametag but i'm sangyeon," he introduced himself.
he asked a few more questions about her and her day before another silence fell upon them but this time, it was a comfortable one. the two walked through the streets side by side, breathing in the cold air.
their hands keep brushing against each other but both were too shy to make a move. suddenly, sebin grabbed his hand and held it calmly. 'okay, why did i do that, you're seriously getting weirder everyday sebin, what if you scared him away?' while sebin was having an argument with herself in her head, sangyeon literally almost felt his heart stop. damn, he's in trouble now.
sebin's grip on sangyeon's hand loosened and was about to drop because she was afraid that he was uncomfortable with it but he had immediately interlocked his hand with hers. the two young adults were now walking back to her house, both a blushing mess.
to them, it just felt right. they barely knew each other but it felt right. so, just like that, they strolled to sebin's house, hand in hand, enjoying their little moment.
seeing as sebin's house was 15 minutes away from the cafe, they got there in no time. she didn't want to admit that she was a little upset when sangyeon had let go of her grasp.
he followed her onto the front porch before they faced each other. "goodnight sebin," he let out a little chuckle, ruffling her hair. "goodnight sangyeon," the girl could only smile from ear to ear. she hesitantly went into her house because honestly, she wanted to spend more time with him. but good things had to end.
she waved at him once more and shut the door. discreetly, she looked at him through the window and once he was out of sight, she was full on squealing to herself. she had never felt this way before. she hugged herself as she sat down on the couch, reminiscing about what had happened on her way back. sebin couldn't help but to sigh happily and she went to sleep that night, head full of thoughts of sangyeon.
