Chapter 5
Edvard went home with his two friends.
"Hello, children," his mom greeted Boris and David.
"Hello, Mrs. Robinson," Boris and David said.
"Mom, did you talk with Dad?" Edvard asked, taking an apple from the basket on the kitchen island.
"Oh, yes. He said he mistakenly ordered two," Mom said, smiling.
"Oh, really? Do we have to return one of them?" Edvard asked.
"Oh, no. He paid twice," Mom said.
"What? Is he okay with that?" Edvard asked, surprised.
"It's okay. Don't worry. Isn't it good to have two bicycles? Now go to your room with your friends. I'll call you when lunch is ready," Mom said.
"Did your dad order two bicycles?" Boris asked when they went upstairs.
Edvard told his friends what had happened.
"Wow! That's so weird. I mean, they sent a bicycle as soon as your dad ordered it. Can you believe that? And they just put it there and left," David said.
Edvard said nothing, but in his mind, he was concerned about it. Still, he was happy to have two bicycles.

After dinner, Edvard went to his room. He took out some notes to review before going to bed. He heard dogs barking again, just like the previous nights. He stared out at the road. It wasn't very clear in the dark, but the faint light from the street lamps illuminated the road slightly. He didn't see anyone.
A few seconds later, he heard voices. He knew who they were. It was Bia and her friends. Edvard stared at the road until the three girls came into view. The incident from earlier that day came to his mind, and he felt embarrassed about it. He saw Bia glance up at his window, which made him flustered.
Bia and her friends disappeared down the road. Edvard turned his focus back to his work, but then the dogs barked again. Instinctively, he looked at the road, feeling as though someone was watching him. A chill ran down his spine when he saw a man standing on the other side of the road, staring at his window.
The man's face wasn't clear in the dim light, but from his body shape, Edvard was certain it was a man. The figure didn't stay long. He quickly moved away from the scene.
Edvard wasn't sure if the man could see him. He thought no one could see into his room at night when he was near the window. But it seemed like the man noticed him and quickly walked away. Edvard felt a chill of fear. Was it a ghost?
He didn't feel like studying anymore. He went to his bed and tried to sleep.
