Chapter 3: Violins and Piano - Shindou Takuto

Luna: Hello everybody! *waves her hands frantically as if she's a celebrity* We're back again for an another one-shot! But this time, Celestia is taking the spotlight for this chapter.

Celestia: *rolls her eyes* The idiot is right. But don't worry, this fic is not angsty. And neither it is boring nor too serious. There's a little bit humor here since - *glares at her counterpart* she begged me for it.

Luna: ^_^ Peace! *makes a peace sign*

Celestia: *rolls her eyes*

-door opens-

Shindou: *enters* I'm here. Is something wrong?

Luna: Oh, perfect timing Shindou-senpai! You are next! *smiles widely*

Shindou: ... *looks at Celestia*

Celestia: I would suggest for you to run. You only have 5 seconds before-

Luna: THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN, SHINDOU-SENPAI!

Shindou: You're right. *runs away*

Luna: NOOOOOOO! DON'T LEAVE ME SENPAI! T_T

Celestia: *sighs and pinches the bridge of her nose* Just... ignore her. Continue reading and enjoy.

..~*~..

Sitting by the comfy seats in the taxi, I engrossed myself by focussing at my phone and scrolling down the music gallery which are filled with multiple music. I am clad with a gray turtleneck and some black tights with my hand ensconced with a pair of knitted maroon gloves, since it's autumn here in Japan.

Looking for the certain music I've been longing to hear, I took my headphones which are snaked around my neck and placed them on either both side of my ears before searching. And when I found it, I pressed play, before gazing out the window - trying to comprehend what location I'm at right now. The syncopated beats together with the strong bassline blasted through the speakers as my foot tapped rhythmically and sequentially with the beats and started to hum when the violins started to voice out their soprano notes, creating a beautiful composition of dubstep.

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is (f/n) (l/n), a violinist and DJ (I'll explain it later) whose current job is to keep the reunion, party, or a club - you name it - to remain enjoyable and danceable by introducing some sparsely made-up music. I live with my brother in England (pretend you're English. 😂) while mom and dad are in overseas because of their works.

Recently, I just arrived here in Japan 6 hours ago by taking an international airport. And right now, I'm traveling in Inazuma Japan since job called me over for the reunion of... Uh, who are they again? Shin- Shuns-? Ah! Shinsei Japan! The soccer representatives of Japan. Since one of their members in the team just recently went back the country after playing international basketball in overseas. Why they chose me, I have no idea. They would've taken a very well-known DJ but no; they still chose me. I don't mind though. I like discovering things I haven't experienced before and this includes as a sample.

Still gazing out the window while humming, the engine stopped. I blinked, confused, when a tap on the shoulder intruded me from my little trance. Removing my headphones and snaking them around my neck again, I looked at the intruder. And that's where I realized I have approached my destination already.

"Miss..? We have arrived." The driver who looked in his late 40's told me and I smiled gratefully at him.

"Thank you." I say and handed him some money, "keep the change." I immediately told him when he was about to unzip his small bag that is wrapped around his waist to give me my change. He stopped to look at me, looking surprised and sheepish.

"A-are you sure? I don't want to-"

"It's fine, sir." I replied at him, determined and insisting. "Just keep them." Smiling, he nodded and went outside the taxi. I fixed myself for a while, taking my black and white backpack before going out as well to retrieve my traveling bags at the trunk. When I went at the rear side of the taxi, the driver already took all of them out. They are five in total and are like very huge and heavy since they occupied some of the things needed for the reunion and some personal necessities.

"These looked heavy.." He said, looking at the bags then at me. "Are you sure you'll be alright?"

I nodded, "Yes. Don't worry, sir. I'm used to this kind of job. Nothing too personal and big."

"I see..." Nodding, he went to me and tapped my shoulders gently. "Well, good luck miss. I hope you enjoy your stay here in Japan while you have the chance." I smiled at the man's generosity.

"I will. Thank you." Nodding again, he left me at the sidewalks and went inside the cab not before giving me a thumbs-up. I waved at him and said, "take care."

"You too as well missy. Bye." After that, he took off leaving me by myself at the sidewalks with three of my traveling bags and 2 rolling bags. Looking at them, I sighed, giving my face a rub with my hand before turning around to think ways on how to carry them throughout the whole way while finding for an apartment I'm staying with all by myself. Normally, people would ask for help from strangers but I think better not. Why? Because, I don't trust strangers, ANYMORE. Yes, anymore. You give them trust and yet, they abuse it and would take it as an opportunity to advance and steal your things.

Yes, it happened to me already 1 year ago in Italy when I had my first job there. And at that same moment, I was robbed. The culprit stole my wallet and visa by pretending to help me. Oh, how foolish I was that day. He even waited for the right time to assault and threaten me! Thank god that someone saw the incident and took me at the police station or else I would've cried at that time. I even called my brother for reassurance and told him everything of my misfortunes.

The person who witnessed everything is Fideo Ardena, a man in his early 25's - brown haired, rich blue eyes and a kind face. He offered me to live with his apartment (since I can't go home without my visa and that my job was postponed.) while he and the police (he insisted to help) took their time by finding the culprit - though he would often stay in touch with me, just as my brother did.

Then one day, Fideo captured the thief with his skills - meaning: by kicking the ball to the guy's head the moment he saw him. It's quite amusing whenever he told me about it but at the same time I felt sad. I mean, sure I can go home but I have to leave Fideo. After all, he saved me and he looked like my big brother now. But despite all those hardships, he promised me that we will meet again. And I do hope he will hold on to his promise or else I'll murder him in his sleep [1].

I got so caught up in the moment that I did not realize the close proximity of the two guys - well, one girl and one boy actually. The teal haired mischievous guy looked at his companion.

"Ne Kirino-senpai, she's not responding."

The carnation haired girl rolled her eyes. "Shut up, Kariya." Came her deep tone - wait, she's a he?! How is that even...? He looked like a girl! Shaking my head at this, I scanned them both as the guy - who I'm sure of is a girl - stared at me. "Um... Not to be nosy, but do you need help?"

I knew it. I glared at him icily, "I'm capable of carrying these bags all by myself, thank you very much." I curtly said, voice harsh and cold as I wanted it to be. The two reeled at my hostility but did not say anything. In fact, they merely looked at each other, brows furrowed before looking at me. I rolled my eyes at them. There's no way I'm falling for that look. I've gone through worse.

Without thinking of any plans, I acted out suddenly by taking two of my traveling bags and propped them above my two rolling bags, before picking up my last one traveling bags - only to wobble from the momentum and stumble to my feet, yelping. I tried to compose my body with my hand flailing frantically in an attempt to hold on something and prevent me from falling, but to no such luck. I shut my eyes hoping for the incoming pain to be quick as I felt air enveloping me - only to be hearing a grunt then a moderate... Breathing?

I opened my eyes to generalize everything what happened when my own met enticing pair of hazelnuts eyes. I looked at those bright eyes, mesmerized before snapping away from my own little world when his eyes jerked and scanned my petite form. I blinked and looked at the situation I was in. Literally, I am dipped down with the guy's body hovering mine and arms wrapped around me as my hands held on his shoulders - like a waltz dance. My face burned at the proximities of our faces as he tilted his head, some of his wavy brownish-gray hair framing his face, eyes looking at me in concern.

"Daijoubu desu ka?" He spoke, voice rich and moderately low, his accent sounding firm and stern but soft and caring nonetheless. I blinked, trying to figure out what he said and shook my head. I don't know Japanese. All I know is some basic words, but that's it.

"I... Um, I'm sorry. I don't speak Japanese." I cleared my throat, face burning more when he looked at me more intimately. I averted my eyes away from him, too embarrassed to even look at him. "Um... Will you please release me? I-I'm fine."

He quickly released me and I hastily shied a good one feet away from him, trying to look impassive as possible. "G-gomenasai - I-I mean, I'm sorry." He blushed and looked away. I blushed also, but nodded coyly, accepting his apology. We just stood there, not exchanging words to each other - just him looking at me and I looking at him as well. He is clad with a soft white sweater and a black scarf snaked comfortingly around his neck and a pair of gray gloves, and some black jeans supported with some pair of accentuated red and black shoes. I must agree; he looked quite dashing with that kind of clothes.

A cough broke our connection and I turned around to perceive those of the two guys who offered to help me. The carnation haired lad spared a glance behind me.

"Kirino? Kariya? What are you two doing here?" I heard 'my savior' queried, voice low and very welcoming. The teal haired placed both of his arms behind his head and shrugged nonchalantly, - body quite relaxed, and eyes quite slant and golden which reminds me of a cat.

"Just taking a walk with Kirino-senpai." He responded, eyes scanning me once in a while.

Kirino nodded slightly, eyes shifting to mine once also. "Yeah, but not walking. Just having a stroll around the area for a while, I guess."

"I see." 'My savior' mused, then his eyes locked to mine as the other two too and immediately, I averted my eyes at the concrete floor below and gripped the hem of my clothes, feeling their eyes piercing. I heard them speaking to each other but I blocked them all away. All I just wanted is to find an apartment but fate decided to make my life more difficult than it was.

"Excuse me," I heard 'my savior' said and felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up and met his brown orbs. "Are you a tourist here? Are you lost?" I blinked then shook my head.

"No, I'm not a tourist - well maybe a bit, but not really. In fact, job called me over and well... I'm lost." I replied back sheepishly, tugging the hems of my turtleneck - a habit of mine when I'm nervous and embarrassed. I averted my gaze away from him again when his brows furrowed.

"A job? Not to be the one interfering, but what is your job? Maybe we can help you." At that single statement, my eyes snapped at him icily and was about to give him a hiss - when he gave me a smile. "Don't worry. We're not thieves if that's what you're thinking." I glared at him, scanning for any signs if he's pretending - especially his eyes. Most of the times, I go for the eyes, since they are the windows of our emotions but every time I bury my eyes at his, all I can see is pure concern and kindness - Not even a blink of mischief and deceit. So when I found none, my eyes soften and relaxed. And at that same moment, his eyes seemed to have lit up.

"So, you're not suspicious of us anymore?" He asked and I guess old habits strike again.

"I guess so, but the half is still there." I told him, pretending to be crude. He chuckled mirthfully. My cheeks reddened, not from the cold but the way how melodious that sounded. He cleared his throat after his little session, smiling.

"Forgive me. So uh... May I?" He gestured for the bags and I hesitated, before nodding slowly. He smiles and took one of my traveling bags and one of the rolling bags while the two took the rest of my traveling bags so I'm left with the last of my rolling bags to carry with me. And I guess I'm thankful since this will weigh down my supposed heavy work. We began to walk around the streets - me looking everywhere while 'my savior' and Kariya-kun and Kirino-kun asking questions. Now I remembered, I still haven't got 'my savior's' name and it would be awkward if I will call him 'my savior' all the time.

"By the way, my name is (f/n) (m/n) (l/n). And yours..?" I looked at him, waiting. He looked surprised as I made my way towards him, now walking beside him while the other two are trailing behind us.

"Really? Weird, I swore I heard that name before." He mumbled loudly under his breath, his brows furrowed and having that distant look, as if he's recalling. I looked at him, confused and he shook his head, "Ah, My name is Shindou Takuto and the other two are Kirino Ranmaru and Kariya Masaki." I blinked. I swore I heard his name as well before.

"Well, Shindou Takuto, I guess we're in the same boat. I think I have heard of your name before but cannot recall where." He looked at me as I blink, looking at him. Then we both laugh, our laughters ringing around.

"Wow, it really is weird." He pointed out and I nodded, grinning, finally enjoying my stay here in Japan. "Well, other than that, may I know what is your job?" He asked.

"For starters, I'm a DJ." I stated in a matter of fact. "And someone requested here in Japan to be their DJ for their reunion since one of their friends just recently returned from overseas." Shindou stopped in his tracks and looked at me with widened eyes. I also stopped walking and looked at him, confused before looking behind me to ask the other two but - the other two as well froze and looked at each other. I returned my look at Shindou and demanded. "Uh, is there something wrong?"

"(F/n)," Shindou called me. I gave him a questioning glance. "By any chance, is the reunion you are assembling with has the team named Shinsei Japan?" I nodded. He smiled and patted my shoulders. "Welcome to the club then (f/n). I'm one of the members in Shinsei Japan." My jaw dropped.

"Eh?! Really?! Wow, that was unexpected." I giggled and he chuckled. "So, what is your position then? Forward? Goalkeeper-? Nah, I don't think you are suited as a goalkeeper. Oh, how about-?" He began laughing and my cheeks flared up. "Oi, what's so funny?"

"It's nothing." He heaved a breath and grinned. We began walking. "you just look cute, that's all." My cheeks flared more at his compliment. What is this? Is he flirting with me? "But honestly, I used to be a midfielder but now I'm a defender." He began and I blinked, any forms of blush disappearing.

"Really? Why?" I asked, confused. He shrugged, moving forward in moderate speed to let me keep up with him.

"Some circumstances happened." He said, and I frowned not liking the way he responded. He immediately saw this and quickly apologized. "I'm sorry. It's just that... It's not my favorite subject at all. Well, not really. But my friend promised me to not tell. Only certain people knows of this."

"I see.." I nodded, finally understanding. "I'm sorry if I'm interfering with your secrets." I said, guilty. He smiled at me.

"It's fine. It's not your fault anyways." After that, we did not say anything. I explored everything we come across. Japan is truly an amazing country. Although there are only a few out here besides me, Shindou, Kariya and Kirino, I can still feel the cheery spirit around here.

"About time you both stopped talking. We looked like some blunder idiots here, not knowing what to do." Shindou and I both looked over our shoulders. Kariya has my bag slung on his left shoulder while accusing us with that mischievous smirk. "Looks like Shindou-senpai is hitting on something," I blinked, not knowing where is this going, "or rather someone~" he snickered and I blushed, almost stammering. Luckily, Kirino-kun gave him a stern look.

"Kariya, shut up." He said and Kariya frowned and looked away, muttering things about Kirino being a killjoy. Shindou averted his face away from us, and at a single glimpse; I caught him blushing which made me blush even harder. Kirino cleared his throat to catch my attention and he said, "So (f/n), how come you have a job? You looked the same age as us to have a job. N-not that I don't support part-time jobs or something-!"

"Calm down, Kirino-kun." I giggled and he blushed in embarrassment. I clamped my mouth with my hand, trying to stifle my giggle, before starting. "Actually, being a DJ is not a job. It's just a thing I used to say, since I'm always being called over to perform in any clubs or parties. I don't mind it at all. In fact, it's fun and I can earn money with the use of my talents and skills." I said and they nodded in agreement, even Shindou - finally not embarrassed of Kariya's assumption. The two walked beside me. "I'll admit, it's a little bit weird since they know me and such but I guess it has something to do with my friends and relatives being the babbling persons they are, but oh well. I actually don't mind it though." I shrugged.

"But the truth is, it's more like a hobby to me. I enjoy mashing up songs and blending them together to create a song. But most of the times, I have always taken a deep devotion in creating my own dubstep. You know - a kind of danceable music that you usually hear in clubs despite DJ-?" I paused and said, "Honestly, you know what? Never mind. You won't get it anyways." I laughed and they gave me a laugh as well.

"Not really. I can understand some of the references." Kirino says and Kariya nodded before jabbing his finger at Shindou's direction.

"But Shindou-senpai must have, since he's really a prodigy, a musician and a brilliant pianist." He said and my eyes lit up. Shindou-kun is a pianist?!

"Woah! Really?!" My eyes snapped at his direction in excitement. He nodded slowly and sheepishly.

"Kariya is right there, but prodigy? Not really." He said and I nodded, narrowly when Kariya gave me a look of 'he's lying.'

"For the first time, I agree with you Kariya. (F/n), don't listen to him." Kirino butted in and Shindou looked at him, betrayed. I giggled, stifling it with my hand clamped shut on my mouth. Kirino only gave a mirthful grin in reply.

"Some friend you are." Shindou grumpily muttered and this time the three of us laughed at his defeated structure.

"Oh come on Shindou, it's not like Kariya's lying - well maybe a lot but now is different." Kirino pointed out. Kariya nodded.

"Kirino-senpai is right and - wait the minute! I'm so not!" He bellowed, finally realizing the harsh truth being sent out. Kirino rolled his eyes at his junior. I laughed even more.

"You guys are so funny! I'm now starting to enjoy my stay here in Japan!" I exclaimed, still laughing. Shindou smiles and we continued our journey, joking and talking and laughing, while searching for a suitable apartment I'm staying.
