Rebellion
By the time dipper and Leo pulled up with the golf cart, Stan and ford were waiting at the door for the boys, Leo didn't get out of the cart as he stared his father down stubbornly.
"Great uncle ford don't be upset, it's-" "this isn't about you dipper," ford walked up to the boys but Stan glared not liking the tone.
"I do appreciate you spending time with Leo and looking after him, you did nothing wrong," he nodded.
"Are you fucking kidding me?!" Leo screamed. Dipper jumped and stan moved forward surprised by the young voice cussing.
"What rules did I break?! I didn't do anything wrong!" He jumped off the cart and stormed up to the old man with no fear.
"The rule you broke? You told no adults where you were going, no note, no warning, not even Mabel knew you two left, that's the rule you broke," ford crossed his arms looking down at the blonde boy.
Leo's mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water, speechless and couldn't find a way to argue back. He didn't realized that part.
"Whatever, ground me or isolate me from the world, doesn't matter," Leo scoffed kicking the dirt.
"Leon filbrick, look at me," he told him sternly.
"I'm going inside, I'm done talking," Leo waved him off ignoring his father and walked ahead.
Ford was beyond shock at the child's rebellion as he passed Stan and dipper not looking at either. Dipper looked guilty not knowing how to help, Stan motioned him to go inside also, letting the adults have a moment alone.
"C-can you believe this? That boy has no idea what trouble he could've gotten into!" Ford stumbled over his words in shock.
"Kids got a mouth on him for sure, didn't put enough rules down it seems," Stan raised a brow and they both jumped hearing a door slam inside. Leo was still upset.
"That fucking kid," fords eye twitch.
"We're the twins this rebellious with you? The disrespect," he huffed crossing his arms.
"Oh I've had my fair share of tantrums from them, they actually wanted to leave when they first got here," Stan chuckled at his brothers anger and frustration.
"But you know what, if it's alright with you let Leo spend some time up here with the kids and I, your welcome to stay as well but-" "are you kidding me?" Ford scoffed shaking his head and stand face dropped to annoyed.
"But you can stay In your nerdy lab otherwise, let leo be a kid with the kids, we're having a movie night, it's not evil," Stan glared and went inside, slamming the door next and left ford outside.
Stan sighed leaning against the door and rubbed his forehead from the headache that was forming. He went to the kitchen to fetch some pain meds, he saw Leo sitting at the kitchen table though with his head down on his crossed arms.
"Need a drink?" Stan spoke first and Leo's head snapped up.
He stayed silent as Stan opened the cabinet to get his pain relief.
"I'm getting a soda anyways, want one?" He offered again popping a few pills in his mouth and cracked open a soda.
"Yes please," Leo mumbled resting his chin on his arms again.
Stan grabbed the boy one and set it on the table for him. But Leo didn't drink it.
"We're having a movie night, pointdexter wont care if you join us... I know the twins would like it if you did though," Stan sat with him at the table.
"Isn't that against the rules?" Leo mocked still scowling.
"Rules are meant to be broken," Stan grinned.
"And if your my nephew I'd like it too," he tsked looking at the boy softly. Leo kept his eyes down but shrugged.
"Dad acts like it's still just us," Leo whispered giving up the act of pretending.
"Dad," Stan repeated with a sigh. "Never thought I'd hear someone call point Dexter 'dad',"
"Hes whatever," Leo finally grabbed the soda and cracked it open.
"Aye that's your father, don't talk like that," Stan corrected the boy quickly.
"But his rules are bullshit, you know better than him that this town don't got any thing to be a threat to me, I can handle myself, and I can protect dipper if I had to," Leo sat up straight but Stan raised his thick brow
"I'll tell you some bullshit rules, keep the cussing on the down low for the twins, I don't care and neither does ford but earth kids are more PG," Stan didn't buy his tough guy act.
"But your right, the people in this town aren't the threat, but obviously you and Stanford know more threats, the guy is stubborn but he knows what's best, he's doing his best," he tilted his head to the side , leo put his hands over his face with a deep sigh.
They heard the front door open, stan saw his brother stop at the kitchen opening.
"Leo?" Ford called to the child. He was ignored.
"Come downstairs when your ready kid," he rolled his eyes and Leo raised his middle finger behind fords back.
Stan smiled at the silent anger the child had, maybe he wasn't such a bad kid. He had some fun spite that reminded him of himself as a boy.
"Here, you left this behind," Stan set Leo's blaster on the table and slid it carefully to the boy.
"I like you Leo, but please do be careful with the twins and this stuff, they know about a lot with gravity falls but I don't want them to be this involved... they're just kids," Stan told him softly and Leo grabbed his blaster and set it in his lap.
"I'm sorry," Leo mumbled. "For getting dipper in trouble,"
"I just want a friend," he stared at the soda that was shared with him.
Stan smiled sympathetically for the kid, he motioned for Leo to follow him to the living room. Leo left his blaster on the table and follow his 'uncle'.
"Here I need some help setting up, grab blankets from the closet," Stan pointed to the side.
Leo stayed quiet as he followed the directions and grabbed all the blankets that could fit into his small arms.
"Oh is Leo staying for movie night!?" Mabel gasped excited when her and dipper finally came downstairs.
"I doubt the kids ever seen sandlot, I think that's a good start to earth culture," Stan chuckled sitting in his usual chair, Mabel took her spot sitting on the arm of the chair, leaning against her Grunkle comfortably. Dipper sat on the carpet floor with a blanket over his lap while leaning against the chair.
Leo's stomach turned with a new feeling he wasn't sure of, he felt left out seeing how everyone had their own spots. He wished his dad came up to sit with them too so he wasn't so alone. Leo smiled politely at Mabel when their eyes met, he grabbed one of the quilted old blankets and sat on the couch next to them.
"You can sit with me Leo," dipper offered noticing the distance.
"I'm okay here, thank you," Leo gulped, he didn't want to be a bother now. He already got dipper in trouble with ford.
"Alrighty You kids ready for the best movie ever?" Stan flipped the channel to the movie.
"Grunkle stan you say that about every old movie we watch," dipper leaned his head back.
"And I mean it every time," Stan messed up the child's hat and hair playfully.
"Minds are ready to be blown," Mabel locked in smiling still.
They watched the movie together, Mabel fawning over the cutie boys on the screen as she explained why she liked every one of them and somehow tried to explain baseball to Leo, he didn't understand the game still or why she was obsessed with screen people's looks. Dipper and Stan tried to explain both points and still failed to have Leo understand.
By the end of the movie Leo was sleeping on the couch.
"It's not a good movie till someone is knocked out," Stan teased seeing the sleeping blonde boy.
"Alright you two, head to bed," Stan stood up with a groan and Mabel grabbed dippers blanket.
"Can Leo hang out with us tomorrow Grunkle Stan?" Mabel asked curiously, dipper yanked his blanket back.
"That's not up to me kids, but I think you just might be able to ask him," Stan jabbed his thumb to the youngest.
They said their good nights and went upstairs while Stan handled the little boy.
"Hey blondie, you got a bed downstairs you wanna go to?" Stan tried to wake him up.
Leo didn't move, sleeping on his stomach and his arms tucked under his head as a pillow.
"Leo, kid, wakey," Stan touched his shoulder lightly. Leo's eyes snapped open and Stan's stomach dropped a little when he sat up quickly.
"What?" Leo realized he was in the shack and it was his uncle.
"You fell asleep, do you want to go to your bed downstairs?" Stan asked slowly.
"No thank you, I don't have one," Leo yawned rubbing his eyes. He laid back down and flipped over to his side.
Stan went and got a pillow, setting it gently under Leo's head and grabbed him a better blanket to cover the kid entirely. He let the kid sleep in the living room instead but he couldn't shake a chilling feeling he had a moment ago.
Why the heterocromia child had his golden eye light up when he was startled away. Why did his eye glow and why was it just the golden one?
