Beach Day

Maka hung up the phone before stretching. Tsubaki had invited the group to go to the beach in about an hour. Maka hadn't been to a beach since her mom was here, which was years ago. Whenever someone invited her to the pool she'd bring along a book and get called bookworm. Don't get her wrong she loved the beach, Maka just didn't have a swimsuit that actually fit her.

"Alright, Maka!" Blair emerged from behind her door, Maka had no idea she was there, carrying a beach bag in one arm and umbrella in the other. She had a fold up chair slung over her shoulder and a straw hat on. Blair wore a tight, black swimsuit that showed off her chest. "I'm ready to go to the beach!" Maka shook her head, there was no telling her no. "Did you tell Soul yet?"

"I was just-"

"Hey, Soul!" The cat screamed. There was a curse along with loud footsteps. Soul walked in with a stain on his shirt, probably spilling something, and a menacing look. "Soul, we're going to the beach today!" Blair sang as she almost suffocated Soul with her boob crushing hug. The weapon tried to scramble away from Blair as he awaited the Maka-chop. The miester was to happy for Soul to ruin her mood, so she ignored this, just this once.

Soul fell on his butt as he freed himself from Blair. Maka leaned down next to him, "You ready to got to the beach?" Maka gave a smile and her hand. The weapon took her hand and scratched his head. Come on, Soul! Cool first, perverted thoughts later, Soul cursed himself.  Soul had only dreamed of how Maka would look in a bikini, hey, a guy could dream, and Soul did.

"I didn't know we were going today." He continued to scratch his head.

"Well we are so get ready. We're leaving in about an hour." Maka cheered. She rushed Soul out of her room so he could pack and so Maka could figure out what to wear. Soul grumbled as he let Maka shove him out. He wanted to see what Maka was going to wear to the beach. No, he really wanted to see her in a bikini.

"So Maka~" Blair sang. The miester gave the cat a fake smile and let her continue. "You have a swimsuit?" Maka shook her head but regretted it a second later. "Pumpkin, pumpkin, swimsuit!" Blair twirled her fingers as string flew out of the tip. It spun around Maka until it laced around her body creating a sexy swimsuit. Maka gasped at the dark, purple bikini that hung really low around the chest and waist area. It showed off Maka's cleavage, just enough to make her breast pop. Maka skrieked and covered herself with her arms.

"Maka? You alright-?" Soul opened the door and gawked at the blonde haired girl. She stood there, arms now at her side with a dictionary in hand. The weapon hadn't seen the book until it slammed down on his head.

"Knock before you enter!" Maka screamed at him and turned around. Soul's head and now nose was bleeding from the scene. Soul also got a great view of Maka's behind. "Pervert! Stop staring and get out." Maka raised the book again as Soul scampered off the floor and out to his room.

"Damn Maka for being sexy and cute at the same time." Soul said under his breathe. He reached his room and changed out of the coffee stained shirt that Blair ruined. It was his favorite shirt, because Maka had bought it for him for Christmas. He was sitting on the couch till he heard Blair call his name, he cringed at her voice and dropped the mug, spilling on the couch and himself. He probably should have cleaned it up...

Soul finished packing his small bag for the weekend, anytime the group went to the beach they would stay at Kid's beach house. That was Soul's favorite part. Maka had to sleep in the same room as the demon scythe who would occasionally stay up and watch her sleep, it's not creepy. Her features were so peaceful unlike her normal self where she nagged at Soul and fought with an expressionless or angry face.

He walked out of his room, a bag slumped over his shoulder. He wore a skin tight, aqua shirt and swim trunks that were black with white skulls on it. He wore dark sunglasses that hugged his head and sandy colored flipflops. Maka walked out with a white sundress and her hair in pigtails. They had green ribbons on either side and wore the same colored sun glasses. She held a pink and white striped bag filled with necessities. Maka had changed into something more appropriate when Soul had left. She now wore a beautiful green bikini with white strips, that her sun dress covered.

"Ready?" She asked.

"Ready!" Blair jumped out from behind Maka. Soul walked by the counter and grabbed his keys. He opened the door but quickly starting sprinting down the hall as Maka entered the living room and screamed his name. She saw the coffee...

"Look, I said I was sorry..." Soul tried again. Maka turned away from everyone and looked out the window. They were all in Kid's van, Kid, Tsubaki, and Liz in the front, Crona, Black*Star, Patti, and Blair in the middle, and Maka and Soul in the back. Everyone was either pretending to be asleep and keeping an eye on the pair or turned around to see how this would go down. Crona whimpered in the back about being scared when Maka was in her 'moods.' Soul grew impatient as she continued to glare at the scenery.

"Maka~" Soul sang as an idea sprung into his head.

"Soul, I told you leave me-" Soul quickly took the chance when she turned around to scold him to grab her seat belt and unbuckle it. He unbuckled his as well and pulled Maka close to him. Soul gave her a mischievous look and pulled her on top of him. "S-Soul?"

Souls smirked as he leaned her ear next to his mouth. "I'll clean it up when we get back." He whispered seductively in her ear.

What.

"What." It wasn't a question, Maka said it with no expression. She gave him a death glare as he pulled away laughing. They both sat upright again.

"Oh, man." He wiped a fake tear away. "So am i forgiven?"

"You baka!" She continuously hit his head. "What is wrong with you? Why would you do that?" Soul smirked as he chuckled against Maka's piety hits.

The whole rest of the car was disappointed and thought the exact same thing, they were so close.

"Come on you bookworm." Soul looked at his miester who was sprawled out on a towel. She had a book in hand and her hat and sunglasses covered her whole face, much to Soul's disliking. She sat under an umbrella not getting any sun on her olive skin. "You should swim or get a tan on that white skin of yours." He pulled his sunglasses over his eyes as she puffed out her cheeks.

"Soul, I love the beach but I just got this book." She whined. Soul got up and stretched his arms above his head. Soul threw off his shirt and ran towards the water. Maka hid her blush by covering her face with the book. Every once in a while she would peek from behind her book to see Soul. He caught her a few times and waved at her like an idiot.

Soul watched as Maka peeked from behind her book. He waved at her and motioned for her to get in. The girl shook her head and hid her face with that stupid book. Soul was tired of that book. The weapon walked over to Patti who was building a sand castle.

"Hey, Patti?" She looked up at him as he nodded his head in Maka's direction. She clapped her hands together and handed him the bucket. "Thank you." Soul crept up towards Maka as she continued to lose herself in that damn book.

"Maka~" Soul sang. She didn't look up at him.

"What is it now, Soul?" She asked him still not breaking contact with her book.

"Maka~" He sang again trying to get her attention.

"What is it-!" She snapped her head up just in time for the bucket of water to hit her face. The book, her hat, the sunglasses, her dress, all soaked. Soul took a step back and eyed his miester for a response. "Soul!" She leaped up and threw her ruined book aside. "I'll kill you!" She screamed as she ran after the ivory haired boy. He laughed as she tried to keep up with him. Her sundress sloshed against her body as she ran.

"Hey, get any closer and i'll have to throw you in the water." He called after her teasingly. Hey, that wasn't a bad idea. I still hadn't seen her bikini, if she got her sundress anymore soaked...this would get interesting. Soul smirked. He turned around to face Maka as she finally caught up to him.

"S-Soul, don't you dare." She started back for the group as the weapon chased her with his hands out like a little kid. "Soul! Stay away!" She scolded him.

"No."

"Soul-"

"No." He smirked at her as he caught up and ran right behind her. He picked her up, bridal style, and carried her mid-thigh deep into the water, her toes touched the warm water.

"S-Soul please don't." She begged him. "S-Soul I can't-" He threw her in the waving ocean. She landed with a splash as her sundress continued  to get ruined.

Maka thrashed her arms around as she continuously tried to reach the surface. Her lungs burned as she gasped for air.

The whole group now watched as there was no sign of Maka. Soul stood there, feeling like shit.  "Fuck." He gripped his hair.

"Dude, you didn't know? Go after her!" Black*Star yelled. Black*Star had known Maka forever, he knows her strengths and weaknesses.

Maka took one last gulp of water before she landed on the sandy surface. Was this it? She then felt strong arms wrap around her torso as she was lifted to the surface. She gasped for air as she leaned against Soul. Soul carried her back to the towel as she continued to take in deep breaths. He placed her on the towel as he clutched his chest, gasping. Why was he hyperventilating?

"You can't swim?!" He questioned her.

Maka took one last gulp of air before glaring at him, "I'm sorry, Is that a problem?" She answered him sarcastically.

"Yes! You should have told me-You said you went to the beach with your mother all the time."

"She never had the time to teach me how to swim." She crossed her arms and turned away from him. "Besides, I haven't been here for years." Soul sighed and muttered an apology. She continued to scoff and not look at him.

"Hey, look, i'm sorry. I was only trying to have fun." He leaned in close to her.

"What? You gonna tease me again?" She said with tears brimming her eyes. "Some girls don't think that's cool, Soul." Soul was taken aback but got up to leave.

"Sorry." He muttered before dashing off towards the rest of the gang.

Maka sighed before ringing out her dress. "Stupid Soul." She said aloud. She grabbed her sun hat that fell off when she started running. Maka placed her sunglasses and hat back on as she rested on her towel. She thought this would be fun but now she almost just died. And from what? Drowning! What a stupid death that could have been.

Soul watched as Maka sat on that towel and tried to air out her book. Damn, that's my fault. I thought she wouldn't care. She can always buy a new one.

Soul continued to rant in his head until he saw a boy with sandy blonde hair approach Maka. He smiled at her and her at him. Soul felt a tinge of jealousy as he sat down next to her and began to talk. Soul watched the pair talk completely ignoring Tsubaki's calls.

"Soul!" Tsubaki screamed. Her loudness brought him back and he turned to Tsubaki. "Soul, if your going to mope and stare into space all day because of what happened, go apologize."

"I did. She thought I was teasing her." He said with disgust in his voice. Tsubaki sighed.

"Then show her your sorry." She gave him a bright smile. Soul nodded to Tsubaki and turned back to the pair.

Gone. All his cool was gone in a second as he watched Maka hold out a sunscreen bottle to this guy. Soul sprinted towards the two totally forgetting Tsubaki's advise. He might have to show Maka his feelings the wrong way. Oops.

"He better not mess this up." Kid sighed behind her.

"If he does," She continued to smile. "he's dead."

Soul reached the two and stopped right in front of them. He gave the blonde headed weirdo a menacing look as Maka stared at him dumbfounded.

"Soul?" She asked. "Something wrong?"

"Yeah." He answered. The boy stood up and smirked at Soul.

"And who are you?" He asked. His voice was higher than Soul's which gave Soul more confidence.

"I'm Soul. Who're you?"

"I'm Jason and I was just talking to this lovely young lady until she needed my help with some sunscreen. " He gave him a smirk as he flicked his hair to the side. But that's my job, Soul whined in his head. No! not the time for that.

"Well i'm here now so your not needed." He waved his hand at him. "Boo-bye." Jason smirked at him and eyed Maka with a disgusting look. He was basically eye raping her, if that was a thing.

"So, you guys are dating?" Soul and Maka both blushed. "No? Brother and sister?"

"N-No." Soul stuttered.

"Ah, just friends." Those words. Those words echoed in Soul's head as Jason held a hand to Maka. "Well, I can be your friend, Maka."

"Eh?" Soul gave a look that was confused and angry.

"I mean, I'm way better than that stitched together albino shark."

Soul snapped right there, but Maka, her temper burning with fire, beat him to it.

"Excuse me?" Jason gave her a confused look, probably a look that says 'I've never been rejected.' "Soul is way better than you, Jason. He's not just my friend he's my best friend. He's been there for me for everything! That 'stitched together' crap is from protecting me! He could have died but he protected me and got that scare because of it! And he has a name, it's Soul! It's a beautiful name so use it, bud." She let out some air as she finished. "You can leave now." Jason let out a few stuttered words before turning and walking off to the next girl. Soul wrapped his arm around Maka's waist which caused her to squeak.

"So? What was all that?" Soul looked down at Maka.

"I-I couldn't let him say that about you." She turned away blushing.

"Well, Maka." He picked off her hat and sunglasses. "I think you have a beautiful name too." He said before turning her around and smashing their lips together. Maka was surprised at first before melting into the kiss and wrapping her arms around his waist. They both pulled away for air and smiled at each other. Out of the corner of his eye, Soul say Jason stare at them with a furious aura coming off of him.

The rest of the night was spending time together, and eventually crawling into one another's bed at night and cuddling. The pair had decided they'd come to the beach more often. Soul would teach Maka how to swim, which was adorable because she clung to him constantly, and Maka would read to Soul on the sand.
