{Maka pov}

I was walking down the halls of the dwma when I heard soul. He was talking to Blackstar which wasn't out of the ordinary. But what he was saying caught my attention.  "Yeah she's just so annoying" he said. I knew eavesdropping was bad but I couldn't help it. "Oi soul we should start calling her the annoying pigtails" Blackstar said chuckling. "Yeah man" soul said. They both started to walk away.

I stood there. Was it me that they were talking about? I thought. Of course it was me. It was so obvious. I can be so annoying to soul. Always hitting him with a book, blaming everything on him, giving him more things to worry about. And who else wore pigtails? I'm a horrible partner. No wonder he would say those things. Even Blackstar thought so. I could feel tears stream down my face. He deserves something better than me. I should just switch partners with him with someone else. That's it! It'll be better that way. I'll tell him at dinner. Don't worry soul soon you'll be happy just go through one more school day with me. I know what i'm saying is just like saying I hate myself but that's how I put it.

I sighed. I'll just avoid him that's it.

I walked to class and sat down. I saw soul walk in he looked at me but I quickly turned away. The rest of the day was like that. If he looked at me I turned away. If he talked to me I either walked away or pretended to read. Finally the school day was over. I decided to walk home. Soul usally drove us home on his motorcycle but I didn't want to fight before I told him about the partner switch.

-Time skip at the apartment-

I cooked dinner in silence. I didn't want to bother soul again. I've already done enough. I decided to cook spaghetti. It was his favorite. To be honest I love soul. But he would never love me back. I knew for a fact. He Said that I'm annoying. Which means he thinks poorly of me. I finished the spaghetti and then set the table.  I knocked on soul's door instead of calling him that dinner was ready. He opened the door. I kept my head down. "Dinners ready" I said flatly. I showed no emotion.

"Alright spaghetti!" He said excitingly while sitting down. I sat down as well. I barely ate I was too worried. Would he be happy if I told him I wanted to switch partners? I couldn't stop with the what if's. "Hey maka you ok you've been acting strange lately" soul asked.

{Souls pov}

Maka has been acting strange lately. I wanted to know why. So I asked. "I'm fine but um soul I have to talk to you about something" she said. I knew this was gonna get serious so I sat straight and had my full focus on maka.

"What is it?" I said to maka. "Um d do you wanna switch partners with someone else " she said. I felt shocked why would she ask that!? Did she find some other guy!? I got mad. "Why in the world would you ask that!?" I said my voice raising.

"B because!" She yelled back. "Dammit maka you found someone else didn't you but you can't leave me because I love you!" I roared back. After a few moments I realized what I just said. Crap.

{Maka pov}

I looked shocked. "Wait you love me?" I asked shocked. I looked at soul.  He was blushing. It made me blush. "Y yes" he tried to say clearly.  "But I thought that you thought i'm annoying?" I said crossing my arms. "What no" he said. My mouth formed an o. "Um sorry I just heard you and Blackstar talking about how someone was annoying and I thought it was me so I thou" I was interrupted by soul. He was kissing me!

I looked wide eyed but then I calmed down and kissed back. When we broke apart soul hugged me. "Promise me if you think something that you don't know the whole story tell me so I can explain " he said. I smiled.  "I promise" I said.

Huh a misunderstanding brought this.
